Carlisle Could be Hired by Friday
In what would be the first shoe to drop in the NBA coaching carousel, the Mavs are
expected to announce the hiring of former Pistons and Pacers head coach Rick Carlisle, ESPN is reporting.
“Friday is the earliest that the Dallas Mavericks will complete the expected hiring of Rick Carlisle as their new coach, according to NBA coaching sources.
Sources told ESPN.com that Carlisle is scheduled to make his second trip to Dallas at week’s end after two days’ worth of interviews with the Mavericks last week which established him as the clear favorite to replace the fired Avery Johnson.”
When reached for comment, an obviously excited Carlisle apparently yelled, “Saamokin!!” ( Sorry, we couldn’t resist)
