This Randolph Can Play

Marc Berman of the NY Post profiles LSU freshman Anthony Randolph. According to Randolph the Knicks, Charlotte and Milwaukee are most interested in his services. Berman states that the Knicks have already scheduled a workout for Randolph in June. By the way if your looking for some numbers he averaged 15.6 points and 8.5 rebounds and 2.3 blocks his freshman year. To read more about Anthony Randolph check out his profile at draftexpress.com.

Add another name of intrigue. Draft Express has this analysis of Randolph “It all starts with his physical tools…6-10 or 6-11, incredibly long, left-handed, fluid, quick, explosive off his feet, with great open-court speed…Randolph fits the bill and then some. He does have an extremely lanky frame, one that might struggle to put on significant weight even down the road.” Sounds a bit like Marcus Camby, but we all know how that turned out. Again I am not sure if this is the kind of player worth taking at #6. It sounds like Randolph can be a valuable asset to a club that is closer to contention then the Knicks. For the record I like these types of players and believe the Knicks are going to need a couple more when its all said and done. Remember what Pat Riley said “no rebounds = no rings”. Of course you have to have a foundation to get to the point where you are talking championship. We all know the Knicks are no where near that.

    marcus camby or chris bosh?

i’d rather have the latter, the knicks can’t afford for him at #6 to be the former.

I am not sure what to make of a kid like this. I personally have not seen him play much, but his stats and write-ups are impressive. However, I am not sure if this is the type of player that the Knicks need right now. Unless Walsh knows something that we don’t and knows that he can trade a Curry or a Zach Randolph, then this might make sense. But if you draft him and you are stuck with these other guys, then Randolph figures to play behind Curry, Randolph, and Lee.

If Charlotte wants him, how about we take him at 6.

Then we trade Curry, Nate, Balkman and Anthony Randolph to Charlotte for Raymond Felton, Okafor and the 9th pick.

I doubt that they would ever give up Felton. I would do Curry and the 6th pick for Okafor and the 9th pick though in a second too. That might work out better. I can see Ok and Zach being a good front line together. Okafor seems to have a winning pedigree and I would love to have him on our team.

This trade sounds good but who the hell wants the laziest, 2nd slowest (J.James 1st), and biggest baby on their team. I mean Curry blamed his play because of Zack. How about because you never hustle? No that is never the case but he should run laps for everytime he whines and doesnt hustle and maybe he will be in shape. ANYWAY if MAYO or BAYLESS are not there to take, what about trading with Charlottle or Portland (9-38, or 13-33) respectively and trade our 6th pick and players. Trade either nate, lee, and curry or randolph if they would even take a contract like that. Then what about drafting Anthony Randolph and with the next pick grab ty lawson. Anthony Randolph can play SF a position we are lacking in and is very athletic with impressive numbers. Ty Lawson N.C. style of play is similar to D’Antoni’s style of play in which he can get the ball up court and drive or dish the ball. Lawson also has the ability to slow down a game when things get crazy which is a quality the knicks dont have.
