H20 Part III?… And yes I Believe the Post is Bored

It’s that time of year where news is sparse, so take this with a grain of salt. Although, Marc Berman put his name to it, so that means there should be some validity.

Allan Houston, who has been working out with the Phoenix Suns, has revealed to the New York Post that he is still interested in playing next season.

“I’ve been around New York for a long time now, and I know the passion these fans have for the Knicks – it’s unbelievable,” said Houston. “I’d love to see that again in New York.”

Houston’s comeback this year with the Knicks lasted for one preseason game.

Obviously, Isiah had no use for Houston and allowed Allan to show up for a few practices as per James Dolan’s request. I was very befuddled during that whole process as Allan really was committed then surprisingly stepped away- my thinking is Isiah told him he had no chance.

Could this year be different?

This article could be more lame than the Artest article. Houston is pretty much done. I liked him when he was a Knick but my only knock was that he didn’t drive enough. Great shooter but I think he should just hang it up.

This article was lame and I will be surprised to see Houston back in NY or anywhere for that matter.

That said, Houston would at least give me a guy to root for on a nightly basis. That would be about it. And heck, he’d be a better weapon off the bench than probably half of the Knicks currently on the roster. Houston was not a great leader when he was an all-star, but he was never shy on the court and he was a classy guy. If he were on the team next year, he would essentially be a mentor and a guy to help alleviate some of the pressure off of the other players.
