Oklahoma City Thunder
According to KOCO in Oklahoma City the Seattle Supersonics will be called the Oklahoma City Thunder. Ken Berger of Newsday also points out that the Sonics and their history will remain in Seattle, to be picked up if and when another team is relocated there.
I am a bit nostalgic about the loss of the Sonics. Growing up in the early nineties the Sonics were one of those teams that had great regular seasons and always choked in the playoffs (see 94, 95 first round exits). They also played that great 72 win Bulls team as good as anyone during the 96′ Finals. Here is to the memory of Shawn Kemp, Gary Payton, and Detlef Schrempf.
