Grizz Still Interested in Z-Bo?

Ronald Tillery of memphisedge.com says the ongoing talks between the Knicks and Grizzlies in regards to Zach Randolph, are back on.

“Memphis wants to throw all of its money at an impact guy or do nothing in free agency. So with the exception of signing Iranian center Hamed Ehadadi for NBA peanuts there are a few whispers around the league involving the Griz and possible deals:

While the Griz were courting Smith they also had trade discussions regarding New York Knicks power forward Zach Randolph. Those discussions — mostly internal – are still ongoing as Randolph has been made available.

The Griz are willing to part with Darko Milicic (last year’s big free agent signing) in a package that wouldn’t require a core player (OJ Mayo, Rudy Gay, Mike Conley, etc). What the brain trust seems to be debating is whether Randolph fits the Grizzlies’ style on and off the court.”

How about Milicic and Crittenton? Where do we sign?

If not Javaris, what about Kyle Lowry?

  • Chris Alvino

If they are hesitant on Randolph, I would much rather ship Curry out for a tandem of Milicic and Crittenton/ Lowry.

While Milicic has not proven much in his NBA years, he has at least proven to be a pretty good shotblocker. At 22 years old and with only 2 years left on his deal, I would gladly try him in the Knicks frontcourt next to Zach Randolph. Crittenton would sweeten the deal for the Knicks.

I really believe that would be a fair deal for both sides. Crittenton is buried on the Memphis bench, and his value will not increase from there. Milicic might simply be a 10 ppg and 7 rpg player that can guard the paint.

Curry as we all know from two seasons ago can be a dominating offensive force on the block. He has his flaws, both offensively and defensively, but Milicic and Crittenton are not the next coming of David Robinson and Jason Kidd.

A milli a milli a milli milicic and give whatever else they desire to steal Mayo.

  • Chris Alvino

KicksNoBricks- I would like Mayo too, but I highly doubt that the Grizzlies would give him up for anything on the Knicks roster.
