POSTGAME: Knicks 114 Nets 106
By Tommy Dee - Oct 20, 2008 10:21 pm

With a well-balanced offensive explosion, the Knicks jumped on the Nets at the Swap early on their way to 67 first half points. Nate Robinson led the way with 17 points in the half on his way to a game- high 26.

Offensively, this team is clicking on all cylinders and based on the hundreds of shots the players put up in practice, they’re stroking outside shots in an impressive fashion.

I’m impressed with the ingredients,” the coach told reporters including yours truly yesterday at the team’s open practice at Pace University. “We’ve got the offense down pretty good. We’ve had signs of good things.”

Those signs showed today and if they continue to bring the unselfishness and energy to the gym every night, there’s no reason they can’t go on the road and win games against average NBA teams.

Notes

Since I was raised to hold my self accountable, and that I also play golf, I’d like to request a mulligan on any Nate Robinson for Sean Williams deal for the time being,thanks…5 games in and I still can’t see any possible place for Eddy Curry in this offense. Considering that Jefferies and Gallinari are due to see minutes when they come back, I wonder what the future holds for Big Eddy. Clearly, it’s not next to Zach…How about Duhon’s stat sheet? I will take 10-7-6-3 with 1 TO any day from my PG…In fairness, I know Marbury CAN pass first, like he did tonight, I just don’t know why we don’t see it more…When does the Jamal worry watch officially start? If the season starts and he goes into 1-1 dribble mode, because that’s what he’s comfortable with, he will sit…Devin Harris is an impressive player, Nets fans (if they still exist) will love that Kidd trade more and more…Brook Lopez is solid, and does have a little Tim Duncan in his game, without all that whining at refs baggage. As soon as he starts to do that he’ll be an easy player for fans to root against.

The Knicks (3-2) return to action tomorrow against the Celts

Tommy- I also had a hand in the Nate for Sean chatterings. To this point in the off-season, I cannot imagine ever making that trade. Nate has been possibly the Knicks’ best player and clearly the most adept at stroking the 3 ball.

Yeah its both sides. Nate is looking better and better, while Sean Williams is looking like a possible bust.

Williams has to take a step forward in consistency this year. He either disappears or picks up 3 fouls in a 1 minute span.

Brook Lopez looks like he could give the Nets that toughness inside, I liked when he was coming up with blocks at key moments.

I wonder what the Knicks are going to do with Eddy Curry?

I was a bit concern that the Knicks recorded 0 blocks against the Nets’ inexperienced post players.. but I guess after the 1st quarter, they did contain em in the key, so I’ll take the positives.

saying that a player is “solid” and “a little tim duncan” in him is a bit of a stretch, no?

i hear “solid” and i think productive NBA player. i hear “tim duncan” and i think top 5 power forward of all time. bit of a gap there…
