Curry to the Spurs Could Work if….
By Tommy Dee - Nov 7, 2008 12:45 pm

hell freezes over.

Seriously, kudos to everyone for joining us on this Harrington stuff, we would have moved Crawford for him over the summer. But at this point the guy is a great fit in D’Antoni’s offense and you can rid that salary by 2010. No brainer. Unless of course, you’re a fan who thinks offering David Lee is a bad idea because Lee deserves to bring back more, which really can’t be the case because of his contract situation because teams are hesitant to trade value for upcoming free agents. Who knows, maybe Lee wants to come back during the offseason after being traded, stranger things have happened.

Anyway, a deal should get done, even if Lee is involved, IF the Knicks can get back Marco Belinelli. But we’ve covered this ad nauseum for months now, so kudos to everyone finally joining the party.

As far as the Spurs wanting Curry, wow. Curry and Duncan would be pretty dominant up front ( a load against the frail Lakers) and maybe winning can motivate the guy. Can Poppa Caveman get the most out of Curry? Heck, maybe he’s bored. Championship-caliber teams on the south other side of the mountain can make desperate trades. Ask the Blazers of the early century. It’s called going for it when your window is closing. Duncan needs some beef up front, and Curry is Grade, well…..

In a three-way it would have to be something along the lines of the Spurs dealing Fabrico Uberto, Matt Bonner and Roger Mason to Golden State and maybe getting Belinelli in return. Yet Roger Mason can’t be traded until December 15th, since he just reup’d.  Seems to me that Harrington is worth more than the Curry/ Spurs package.
