It is sounding like it is Crawford for Harrington straight up.

I am not a gigantic fan of the deal, but the salary cap implications are tough to ignore.

if craw for harrington is the only deal, i don't like it. i can't imagine donnie would either, so i'm staying hopeful.

If they are the only two involved, I would not be surprised to see a NY- Cha swap to bring in Morrison or Carroll. The Knicks, unless they reactivate Marbury, will have a gaping hole at the guard spot. Who starts at the 2? Maybe Q Rich slides to the 2 and Wilson slides to the 3. That would allow a lineup of:

Zach, Harrington, Wilson, Q, Duhon

Maybe Collins steps into the starting lineup, with Nate coming off the bench and receiving most of the minutes? I have no idea how this might work out.

"ESPN.com has since confirmed that those two players, barring a late adjustment, would be the only two involved in the trade. "

Belinelli would be sweet for the Knicks if they could pull that off.

Why do the Clippers seem so intent on trading Kaman? I mean, up and coming big man...Isn't that something teams look for? Forgive me for thinking the Clippers don't know how to run a franchise.

jmerms- I am sure that there is more to this deal than what we are seeing on the surface. I am not sure if there is any deferred compensation for any of these players (there might be with Zach). If so, then that could lead to a hold-up.

I am sure that something will get done today. Imagine if this all falls apart?

The Clippers are definitely not done here if this goes down. Randolph, Camby, and Kaman is too much of a logjam... maybe this is the first domino and then Kaman goes to the Bobcats for Gerald Wallace. If so, Wallace-Randolph-Camby is a nice frontcourt.

I digress though.... I think this deal not only is great for the obvious reason of cap space in 2010, but let's not get crazy and say we're throwing in the towel or worse off this season. Crawford and Z-Bo are playing better this season because of D'Antoni, he gets the most offensively out of what he has.

Now, you give him better spot-up shooters in Mobley (arguably) and Harrington (definitely) and we could see similar numbers, and maybe even better.

I also don't think Thomas sees many minutes. I like the post with the starting 5 of Duhon, Mobley, Chandler, Harrington, and Lee with big minutes for Nate, Q, and Jeffries off the bench.

Arputter- I like your style. As I said above, Tim Thomas is maybe my least favorite player in the league. He will play though in this system. His game is suited for it. It pains me to say it, but it is true.
