I am on board with all these moves. I liked Randolph but his 17 million 2010 albatross couldnt be overcome. The one problem I have with the L.A deal is looking at the talent, we gave up twice as much. So, why couldnt we get a 2011 first rounder? wouldnt hurt our Lebron chances and wouldve helped to that new nucleus. I understand Alvino's point about Camby, he'd be great for us for two years, but I think Walsh is done with guards and Steph will be gone within the week so Mobley, however boring he is, adds depth there. I think Curry will be gone soon too. The Curry to Charlotte for Morrison and Carroll makes a lot of sense for both teams. And if he, and maybe jefferies, is not a knick before 2010, the knicks dont have to stop at Lebron. They can sign Lebron AND another stud. I dont see wade playing second fiddle to Lebron when hes still king in Miami. Also Bosh apparently loves toronto so hell probably stay. But one guy whos not getting a lot attention is amare stoudamire. He is obviously a D'antoni guy and would be a perfect fit. Just think, that will give us a nucleus of Lebron James, Amare Stoudamire, Wilson Chandler, David Lee(i assume if curry goes, hell be resigned), Nate Robinson(same), Gallinari, Duhon, and Carroll would have to stay around( Steve Kerr to Lebron's Jorson). Plus you can add all the talenter vets who will be banging down the door asking for mid level exceptions to play with D'antoni and Lebron.

Why take back a draft pick that will add to your 2010 salaries when you don't know what you're even getting. Granted the Clips are awful, but is getting a #5 or so and having that $5 or $6 million on the books worth it? Not if the name of the game is getting as low under the cap as possible.

The Clippers are one of the most brutal teams in the league despite coming into the season with high expectations.

How, if you are Donnie Walsh, do you walk away from the negotiation table with the Clippers with Mobley and Thomas for your best player? No picks? No Camby? What was Walsh thinking? What makes Mobley and Thomas for two years more attractive than a second round pick and a roster spot? The Knicks are dead last in the league in shot-blocking. No Camby coming back? Again, the Clippers might be the most desperate team in the league.

I'm sorry, but I don't get Donnie Walsh on this one. It is easy to take another team's trash. Look at the deal Rod Thorn made with Richard Jefferson. He at least got back a promising young player in Yi. Is RJ really that much more attractive than Zach? Look at Zach's stats. And what do we get back? Two players on the wrong side of 30 years old with two years left on their contracts.

Anyone watching the game tonight?

This is part of the problem with the cap restrictions in the NBA. The Knicks have been the laughing stock of the league for as long as I can remember. They finally start out hot and salary issues force them to dump their best two players.

While Walsh is at it, he better dump Jeffries and Curry. I can really care less who he gets. Talk about taking the competitive wind out of the Garden's sail.

I would have rather taken the Clippers' 2nd round pick instead of Mobley and Thomas. Thomas is brutal.

I am shocked. Absolutely shocked.

Zach, I loved watching you play. You drove me nuts with some of your decisions and your shot selection at times, but you played your butt off for this team. No one thought that you could run with D'Antoni, but you turned out to be our best player this year. You are having an all-star season so far.

You know what the problem with the free agent class of 2010 is? There are 153 games until our next big star dons a Knicks uniform. I don't know about many of you fans, but I plan on watching most of those games. What do I have to look forward to? Screw the no buyout policy. Donnie has thrown down the gauntlet on this team. He clearly wants to take out the trash. If he is going to do it, then do it right. Get Marbury out of here. Get James out of here. This is a tough pill to swallow as a Knicks fan. Actually you know what, this is a tough pill for me to swallow. I had hopes for this team. Too bad for me, my hopes don't extend two years into the future.

It does look a little tight though if they sign Lee, Nate, and a PG.

Tommy,

If the Knicks could find a way to dump Curry's contract this year or next, couldn't they sign Lebron AND Bosh in 2010 and still be under the cap?

I know I am getting greedy, but i want to know if the math works.

Go NY Go NY Go!
