For the fans that might have been worried that Donnie Walsh pulled the trigger at an inopportune time leaving his roster short for two games as the players received had to pass physicals Sunday, the undermanned Knicks stepped up and snatched one tonight.

Walsh, in an interview with MSG before the game, mentioned that he was concerned that he wouldn’t have the chance to move Zach Randolph’s franchise-killing contract thus he had to move on a deal and that there were no other deals on the horizon.

Meaning Cuttino Mobley and Tim Thomas were the best Knick fans could have expected for a 20 and 10 guy.

Trust him on that and move forward.

The Knicks played inspired ball in the first half as Quentin Richardson came out and banged 6 of his 7 tres in the first quarter, leading the team with 34 points as the team got over .500 with reinforcements on the way Tuesday night in what will be an electric night at the Garden as the Knicks welcome Lebron James and the Cavs.

Nate Robinson (27 points 6 rebounds and 6 assists) was electric tonight, and David Lee (22 points 12 boards) were solid as hopefully the duo feel that they will part of this team moving forward. The starting 5 combined for 116 of the team’s 122 points as they went 16-36 from 3-point range.)

Chris Duhon was yet again solid, despite a stretch that saw him turn the ball over on consecutive possessions and follow that with a bad 3. Duhon finished with 10 points and 11 assists, the third double digit assist game of the year.

Antwan Jamison led the Wizards (1-10) with 29 and Caron Butler added 23.

Thomas, Mobley and Al Harrington will be in uniform Tuesday night, and yours truly is really looking forward to what will be an exciting night at the Garden.

The roar that LBJ gets from the Garden crowd might be the loudest that an opposing player has ever received in any arena.

Bold statement, but it might be true.
