SHOT CHART

When the hell did Shaq start shooting free throws like Larry Bird?

Anyway, the Knicks suffered through another putrid shooting night from behind the arc. By my count it was somewhere in the neighborhood of 5 for 1,000, and because of it, they let a winnable game slip away in Phoenix.

Wait, did I just say “they let a winnable game slip away in Phoenix?” Damn, they’ve come a long way.

Imagine if the team could add a player, a shooter, who can make five 3s on an off night? They exist you know. This is the type of game that makes you really frustrated that Danillo has been hurt.

Had he been able to play he’d be contributing by now, inconsistantly mind you, but contributing outside shots.

I think this would be the type of game, with the players desperate to get a win for Mike D’Antoni in his return to the Valley of the sun, that Rooster makes 3 or 4 treys for his boy.

Speculation is really pointless, but what can I say, I’ve seen a lot of these games.

The combination of poor 3-point shooting with the Diesel’s 11 made FTs, along with a clutch Nash shot and a lucky bounce put back by Amar’e, spelled doom for the Knicks. You just hope that the shots will fall and the Law of Averages takes over. Tonight it didn’t.

I was really impressed by the team’s defense, and as much as I begged for the Knicks to bring in Al Harrington, I had no idea he was this good of a defender. Friends honor, even when he shoots poorly, he does enough to be on the floor. The highest compliment came after the game when O’Neal noted that Al was “playing at an All-Star level.”

Time for the write- in votes boys and girls.

Either way, this team is building and there are more pieces coming, let’s hope Jared Jefferies won’t be hurt for too long.

Wait, did I just say,”let’s hope Jared Jefferies won’t be hurt for too long??”

*************************************

By the way, poor officiating can really kill the flow of a game, but we’re bitching too much. Seemingly on every call. But someone needs to explain to me, if they can, how Al Harrington gets tee’d up by Leon “Don’t Gimme no lip” Wood, but Matt Barnes bitches two straight possessions like a 2-year-old and gets nothing.

And I don’t know what makes me more upset, the fact that he didn’t get tee’d or the fact that Matt Barnes thinks he can complain about foul calls in this league.

The Suns were led by Shaq’s 23 points, along with 21 from Nash and Amar’e. Nash was +21 to lead the Suns and Wilson Chandler was a +10 THE ONLY KNICK IN POSITIVE NUMBERS.

That, my friends, is a team unable to get over the hump after falling behind early.

Nate Robinson led the Knicks with 27 and Harrington finished with 24.

They get right back at it tomorrow in Hollywood.

We can only hope Jarred jefferies is hurt and does not return. What are the chances we can get rid of him, include him in a deal?

The Knicks shot the ball terribly, couldn’t grab a rebound to save their lives, got the raw end of some terrible officiating and still almost won a road game in Phoenix…Wow…that is progress…I never thought id be so positive after a loss
