The Market For Miller

by Chris Alvino on December 15th, 2008 at 11:32 am

HoopsWorld.com has been all over the potential market for some high priced talent that might be on the move in coming weeks.  One of those talents, Brad Miller, is a name that we here at TKB have tossed around as a guy who can really help the Knicks’ interior game.  Tommy has thrown out the idea of Bobby Jackson and Miller for Marbury.  Personally, I think that if we want Miller, we have to take back Kenny Thomas instead of Jackson because of the fact that Jackson’s deal is expiring and Sacramento is trying to get under the cap.

Well, Hoopsworld.com is reporting that Miami has offered Shawn Marion up for Miller and Thomas and that Sacramento is using this as a floor in negotiations.  Sacramento is believed to be looking for expiring deals and future assets (draft picks).  Would Sacramento be more interested in Marbury being as how Marbury’s contract is worth a few million more?  Probably not.  So while Miller is a good name to keep an eye on for the Knicks, he is not worth mortgaging future assets for.
