“The Working Man is a sucker”

Kudos to Frank Isola for his post about Marbury and his recent venture into cyberspace.

“…I just couldn’t end the year without one more Stephon Marbury infomercial. What does it say about a guy who refuses to perform the job he is paid $21 million to perform and yet has no problem serving as a caddy for a reporter’s blog?

Think about it; Marbury wouldn’t back up Chris Duhon but he’ll back up a reporter. And I thought Charles Barkley getting drunk with Urkel would be the strangest thing I read this morning.

And to top it off, Marbury writes to inform us that he’s such a wonderful guy…while he’s earning $21 million for doing nothing. I also love the fact that he wants to put everyone to work and yet he twice refused to work for the company that pays him his bloated salary.

It reminds me of that line from “A Bronx Tale” where the mobster tells the kid, “the working man is a sucker.” That’s what Marbury thinks of New Yorkers.

But it is commendable that everyone’s favorite whacky point guard worked out this summer. I did extensive research and learned that Stephon Marbury is the first professional athlete in history to train during the offseason. Karl Malone and Walter Payton could have learned a thing or two from an innovative genius like Marbury.

It is such a novel concept that Marbury even made a DVD of new-age training methods. I think they call it ogging or something like that. I’m sure LeBron James, Kevin Garnett and Kobe Bryant would like a copy of that priceless DVD. I hear that it includes outtakes from Marbury’s memorable talk show “Stars on Stars.” (Just watch Kobe’s face during one interview. You’ll laugh for hours.)

Of course, the best thing about Marbury’s blog is the picture of him on the cell phone from the Knicks-Lakers game. He’s so conflicted and confused that he doesn’t even realize that the blogmaster is mocking him. It’s actually quite sad.

Hopefully, 2009 will be better for Steph than 2008, and 2007 and 2006, and 2005, and…well, you get the point.

Happy New Year…”

I promise this is the last post on Marbury. To me, the fact that he’s somehow being portrayed as a sympathetic figure is just insulting. Oh and there’s another great quote from A Bronx Tale that speaks volumes about Steph.

“The saddest thing in life is wasted talent

Nice post Tommy. I also commend Isola on his post. Its a sizzling critique on Steph’s twisted perspective. I’ve also commented on the situation on my blog. Check it out if you want. I also fully agree about the wasted talent quote. Good work.

Why are we commending Frank @$$ Iosola. Is this a joke. Nobody should be reading his crap. Isn’t he the same guy that told us Isiah was getting fired last season like 3 times. Isn’t he the same loser that told us that Mike Fratello was our new coach. What a loser. They should fire Frank , Mike Lupica and Mitch Lawrence. They get no credit for anything from me. You guys might hate Berman’s love affair with Marbury but at least he has a source. The 3 stooges don’t have any legitimate source what so ever.

Its comical reading Ice and Berman go toe to toe.. They should get in a steal cage.. But Ice is in much better shape.. THey are both rightly twisted from being on the Knicks beat too long though.

Eh, maybe. Frank does a good job as do all the beat writers. I never understood the hate these guys get.

    It’s pretty silly.

Source (payroll?) or not ,my beef is that the marbury situation is played out like Kwame, And them fuckin pokadots, who rocks the spot, Biggie!

    Unbelievable

You say you don’t understand the hate yet you are always throw hate at Berman. If your going to hate, hate equally. Hate Alan Hahn for lying about z-bo getting traded for Milichich and being wrong about the buyout of Steph and hate the 3 stooges for getting scoops wrong since the beginning of time. Of all the beat writers the best one is Mike Dougherty’s hands down. I have no idea why the Daily news can’t fire the 3 stooges and put him on the payroll.
