BOX SCORE
SHOT CHART

In an inspired effort the Knicks got their first road home win in almost a month by taking down the World Champion Celtics who have now lost 4 of their last 6.

Wilson Chandler had a career high 31 points and broke out of a recent slump, they kid was simply fantastic tonight on both ends of the floor. When asked how it felt to join the “30 point club” Chandler responded, “Good but it’s better that we got the win.

Chandler had 15 points in the 3rd quarter, where the Knicks took control outscoring the Celts 28-15 and never looked back.

The Knicks constantly double teamed Kevin Garnett (who left the game briefly with a calf injury) and was never really effective, finishing with just 6 points on 1 of 6 shooting.

Rajon Rondo also struggled after torching the Knicks last game, finishing with just 3 points. D’Antoni placed Jared Jeffries on Rondo and it worked.

Al Harrington had another strong game for the Knicks finishing with 30 points and 5 three pointers; he also added 7 rebounds. David Lee had another square game tallying 14 points and 14 rebounds.

One to build on for the Knicks (13-19) who now face 6 of the next 7 on the road during a Southwest swing. They return to action Tuesday night in Oklahoma City.

Wilson Chandler had a great game tonight. Too bad I missed it. Chandler is the Knicks great hope. When I watch NBA League Pass to catch up on different teams, you see the broadcasters always say “… the next game will be against Dwayne Wade and the Heat or Kobe and the Lakers”. Soon I hope they will say that about Chandler and the Knicks.

I see Chandler as a franchise player type for the Knicks. I really do not know who to compare Chandler too though. People say Shawn Marion (though Chandler has a legit jump shot that is improving everyday), Richard Jefferson (Jefferson is a solid player, but Chandler has a much higher ceiling that him; better jump shot, better jumping ability, can block, and everything else), but I cannot compare him to anyone right now.

Wilson has a nice sound jump shot that he needs to have more confidence in and the essentials to become an incumbent All-Star.

Chandler had a good game.. I wouldnt reserve his spot for the All Star game anytime soon though..

It took him 19 shots from the field to get those 31 (he made 9 — stil under 50%).. The big difference was he got to the line 12 times. No turnovers was a good sign as well..

lets see him string a handful of these together.

Shawn Marion and RJ have shown that they are legit small forwards in this league. Chandler has to show me quite a bit more before I put him onto their level.

But I hear your enthusiasm. Before the season, I claimed that Chandler might be our best player by the end of the year. Who knows… maybe he will be.

48 minutes of D and hustle won this game. Knicks only shot 42% but relied on Lee, Nate and Chandler swarming everywhere. Great game on the defensive end by JJeff.

BTW I’m starting to hear nicknames for Wilson. ESPN.com said “Everyone”s Favorite Friend” Chandler…

    ugh.
