Now I’m not justifying an inexcusable loss to the Oklahoma City Thunder, but as Knick fans we tend to be fickle; Knick fans went from bashing Donnie Walsh giving Chris Duhon the full MLE to praising his poised play and leadership in about two weeks. So it is necessary to trust in our management; Walsh has done nothing but wonders since coming here, and be patient while watching the growth and maturation of this young team. We need to understand that Mike D’Antoni is implementing a system, and with time and the right players success will come. Wilson Chandler’s inconsistency can be frustrating, but he’s 21 years old. He’s averaging 15 and 6 at this point, imagine those numbers at 25 and during his prime. Nate Robinson has made huge strides in being a more composed player, and he has made a noticeable attempt and limiting his recklessness. But other than some tough games, he’s been great for the Knicks this year. If you dislike the pace at which Donnie Walsh does things, there’s something wrong. Knick fans are eager for success, and rightfully so, we’ve watched too much failure, but Donnie Walsh is the polar opposite of Isiah Thomas. Thomas constantly reverted to the “quick fix,” and his methodologies failed miserably. Walsh is not impulsive, and he assesses his potential moves before making them.
And to address the notion that the you can’t win a championship in Mike D’Antoni’s sytem, it’s erroneous. If the system is run by Lebron James, Amare Stoudamire, Wilson Chandler, and Ricky Rubio, the Knicks can win a championship. Walsh is working towards bringing in the personnel in which Mike D’Antoni’s system can flourish, but Knick fans have to be patient and realize that a plan is being implemented. Slowly, but surely.

I overplay losses all the time, but last night was brutal. I am very eager for success, but even if I wasn’t, last night was, as Tommy put it, “inexcusable.”
If we did not overreact we would not be fans. I am not sure where you got that ridiculous lineup from that is laughable. I have your 2010 starting NY knicks line up
Steve Nash
Joe Johnson
Wison Chandler
Al Harrington
Eddy Curry
on the bench
Chris Duhon, Nate, Gallo and Jefferies
No one is going to come here, WHOA is ME!!!!! I want Mark Jackson lets get rid of the lying guy coaching them now.
yes. we will make no draft picks between now and 2010. along with getting nothing for lee.
and all of LBJ, Bosh, Wade and AS are gonna blow off the chance to play for a coach they all love in the biggest market around for a max contract.
To say that you can win in D’antonis system with Lebron, Amare, and Ricky Rubio is not a good response to someone saying you can’t win in Dantonis system. I could be the head coach of a team with Lebron, Kobe, and KG, and wed win the championship. Does that mean that my system is a good one to win championships with? What happens if you dont get Lebron? I love Wade and Bosh, but there is not one person you could replace Lebron with in that scenario where you would win in D’antonis system.
Fair point. Can I be your assistant coach with that team?
Haha of course.
On a serious note, I think the biggest thing that the great D’Antoni Suns teams were missing was an athletic big man who can play defense(someone out of the Marcus Camby mold). If they had someone like that, they wouldve been the favorites to win it all. Amare Stoudemire is an athletic big man, but hes a natural 4 and cannot play defense. Hes not keeping opposing offenses out of the paint and he would get eaten alive by a Duncan, Garnett, or Howard.
You don’t have to overreact to be a fan, I didn’t read that in the how to be a fan handbook.
And the Knicks plan on making a run at 2 major FA in 2010, and a player of Rubio’s caliber (Monroe, Harden those guys.) Really isn’t far fetched at all. That’s what the Knicks plan to do.
That sounds like a lineup that can happen with rubio running the point especially since stat is going to be dieing to get uner d’antoni…….I too prefer lbj with stat it seems more real then dwade or bosh and I also see Joe johnson comming if we can’t get lbj……….
