According to HoopsWorld.com, GM Bryan Colangelo does not intend on moving either Andrea Bargnani or Jermaine O’Neal (sorry BiggieSmalls).  Disputing a deal that the site reported earlier in the morning, Colangelo has claimed that the Raptors do not have a deal in place that would swap Andrea Bargnani for Josh Howard, despite Dallas’ eagerness to deal the oft-troubled SF.

Why not?

Truthfully, what do you want the guy to say?  The best GMs in any sport keep moves close to the chest.  For Colangelo to go out of his way to admit to having a deal in place would be unprofessional on his part, and could possibly cause a deal to collapse.  Colangelo knows what he is doing, and I would not expect him to start spreading news of an impending deal before it goes final.

As for Josh Howard, if the Mavericks are really that eager to move him…. man would I love for Walsh to get involved.  Although he is more of a SF, Howard can play the two.  He is gritty and is a very skilled offensive player.  He is in the mold of a Ron Artest, a much better Q Rich.  Get him in a system where he is not restricted and can get out and run, and Howard can be dangerous… perhaps a missing piece on this current roster.  Oh, and I forgot to mention, his contract expires at the end of next season.  I am skeptical of how eager the Mavs are to move him, especially considering that the Mavs refused to deal him a couple of months ago in a deal for Zach Randolph.  But who knows, a lot has happened since then, including the team reportedly keeping him inactive due to injury longer than they actually had to.

Also, Hoopsworld is also reporting that the Raptors have dealt seldom used (52 minutes in Toronto… 52) SF, Hassan Adams to the Clippers for cash and a future 2nd round pick.

The Clippers are absolutely clueless.  If they really gave a pick for this guy, I will vomit.  Hey, at that rate, Anthony Roberson might net us a lottery pick.

    thanks for the finger point.. I saw the Josh Howard proposed deal too..

    Best part of it is confirm the Raps are scrambling.. I dont believe anything Colangelo says at this point.. Its a fire sale up there in order to keep Bosh happy.
