GAME NOTES

The Knicks are streaking, winning 5 of their last 6 games, and they are in the thick of the playoff hunt. The Knicks could use a victory tonight, entering the “week of hell” on a good note. Indiana is coming off of two straight victories against Milwaukee and Miami, but they played last night. The Pacers beat the Knicks earlier this year on a shot with 0.9 seconds left by Jarret Jack but without Mike Dunleavy, who if you remember scorched the Knicks for 22 points in a third quarter last year. Dunleavy, Granger, Murphy, and Jack can put up points so the Knicks have to continue to play the defense they have played in this recent surge. Some solid minutes from Danilo Gallinari would help, in his first road game since coming back from his injury. The Pacers lack a post presence, and they are probably even smaller than the Knicks are, so Quentin Richardson, Tim Thomas, and David Lee should post up as much as possible, and take advantage of their mismatches. The Pacers are not as bad as their record indicates, so the Knicks cannot take this game lightly, looking ahead to the three huge home games next week. If they continue to play with the same confidence and swagger that they have, and abide by the system and play solid defense, they will win this game and many more.

Go Knicks!

Isola reports that Curry asked the Knicks for an 8 million dollar advance on his salary..

    What balls..

And he is more than 50 pounds over weight..

  • Chris Alvino

Maybe if he agrees to opt out of his deal for 2010, then they should advance him that salary. Or perhaps they can rework his contract to defer money.

  • pedro

I would rework his deal. pay him 20 million next year. take the option year out of his contract. that’s probably ilegal by NBA rules.

  • 2010

what a crazy week we have coming up. i think we can win two.

  • BiggieSmalls

Not a bad idea. chris and pedro.. Thing is though .. Curry will get screwed on any chance of a future contract.. Not sure he would go for it unless he truly wants to retire..

With his money problems I think he needs to get paid again.

The Knicks denied him the 8 mil but gave him 2 million against future earnings.
I liked the idea of saying “here’s 8 million or more if you
    use your “opt out”.

that said, the opt out not going to happen,
Eddie is a mess on and off the court and he’s owed a boatload of cash.
there are not many teams in this economy who are going to do better
for eddie than his tract with us. Eddie is a knick.

the best we can hope for is that he channels his grief into focusing on basketball . If he does this and starts playing consistantly we
    he will be marketable, tradeable.

Eddie can help some team, but first he’s got to help himself.

I always thought perhaps Eddie needs a mentor, a father figure type
like maybe Patrick. Wouldn’t be a horrible idea to get Ewing in as an assistant next year and have him work hard with Eddie..a thought
