Walsh Looking to improve the team at the Deadline

In an interview with WFAN, Donnie Walsh discussed the idea of improving the team down the stretch.

When asked by Evan Roberts about the impeding trade deadline, Walsh noted he’d make a move “only if it’s something that makes us better right now. I’m not going to make a sideways move.”

He also noted that he’s having discussions but that nothing is imminent.

Sounds like Nate is safe then, unless he can get back a pick and a player who hopefully can eat up some space in the middle.

Walsh was also on Kellerman and noted that he was not actively looking to trade Eddy Curry because there was no market. It’s an awesome interview. Listen to it here.

Also, listen to the interview. Walsh said that some teams will try to evaluate where they are at when the deadline rolls around, and thus some team might try to get rid of salary for next year and take on Marbury.
