CBS: Blazers Looking at Point Guard
By Tommy Dee - Feb 12, 2009 8:34 pm

Welcome to the party CBS. We’re happy to have you.

Ken Berger says the Amar’e to Portland rumors have “unraveled” but is hearing the same things we have been for months regarding the Blazers need for a point guard.

“…The deal Portland was discussing with Phoenix involved LaMarcus Aldridge, Jerryd Bayless, and Raef LaFrentz’s $12.7 million expiring contract. “That deal is dead,” the person familiar with the talks said. One reason could be that Portland is really looking to acquire an elite point guard, according to an NBA team executive. That begs the question of whether Portland G.M. Kevin Pritchard was asking for Steve Nash. But according to another rival executive, the Suns have made it clear that Nash, Grant Hill, and Leandro Barbosa are “untouchable.”

We’ve heard  it is still very much Andre Miller. In fact, even the Philly media is talking about it. They are trying to make it work…if not they may look, as Ken mentions below, at Ray Felton.

I have a novel idea, how about Marbury for LaFrentz, Aldridge and Bayless. Hell, throw in N8 and Malik as well.

No, I’m not serious, just dreaming.

If it is possible to even dream that, I am going to sleep right now.

Tommy… just want to try to help out… there is a way to write the é for Amaré … if you’re on a PC, then just hold ALT + 130. Amar’e looks awkward :)

I didnt run this by the trade machine so it would need to be tweaked, but how about something based around Duhon and Lee for Aldridge? Maybe they include Outlaw? maybe we take one of their unwanted PGs to fit salary?

After dropping 6 in a row, the playoffs are looking more and more out of the question. We don’t need Duh if hes not definitely gonna be here in 2010. Aldrige and Outlaw can be keys to the future.
