Playing without David Lee, who has been struggling with a knee problem, the Knicks again played poor defensively and came up short against an Orlando team that I believe can go VERY deepĀ into the playoffs.
Quite simply, as you look back to how the Knicks gained success at times this year, the team is just not doing the same things.
The Knicks were at their collective best when forcing turnovers and winning the “points off turnover” match up. Last night, Rafer Alston and Anthony Johnson controlled the pace of the game allowing the Magic to capitalize on 20 Knick turnovers, six coming from Nate Robinson.
But the biggest difference, to me, is the fact that the Magic can control a game in transition and in the half court, which is going to make them a tough out come playoff time.
Rashard Lewis made 27 points look pretty easy and Hedu Turkoglu added 20.
Q-Rich led the Knicks with 33 and Robinson added 27.
