Nate on Stage in NYC

By Tommy Dee on May 14, 2009, 9:18 am

Nate Robinson will be appearing on stage in New York City (no, not at MSG) Wednesday May 20th. Here is the scoop on how you can get tickets from my main man and loyal gym rat Scott Rogowsky.

“…Nate Robinson will be making his comedy club debut as the special guest star of this month’s 12 ANGRY MASCOTS show at Comix Comedy Club, May 20th at 10 PM.

12 Angry Mascots is NYC’s only live sports-themed comedy variety show, featuring sports-related stand-up, sketch, and a guest interview with an athlete. The May 20th show also features an appearance by NY Giants All-Pro left tackle Dave Diehl, stand-up from Kenny Zimlinghaus (Cosmo Radio) and Baron Vaughn (Comedy Central), and sketch from Rob Lathan, Matt Mayer, Greg Johnson, and Nick ‘Fitzy’ Stevens.  (Have you seen this Fitzy character?  Check it out at www.townienews.com.  Nick also hosts the Burly Sports Show on Heavy.com)

Nate has apparently become good friends with Will Ferrell in the past year, and rumor has it he’s looking to break into the comedy world. Come to the show, and you can bear witness to what could be the launching pad to Nate’s entertainment career (‘Semi-Pro 2: Back to the D-League’ anyone?)

Thanks to Scott, TKB has back stage passes and will be looking forward to catching up with Nate to see how his off season is treating him.

I still hope the Knicks can re-sign him to a reasonable contract

I would love to have someone with Nates explosiveness on the bench, but I think he’s at his peak value for other franchises. KryptoNate’s brand is something that could fill some seats for a team with low attendance numbers like the Kings, Grizzlies, Pacers or T’Wolves. Hopefully we get some draft picks out of it.

Maybe he’s hoping to be a Laker or Clipper.

Haha, I can’t wait to go see this. 10 bucks? I might pay 1000 to see nate do stand up, once in a lifetime.
