Rubio Injured During Playoff Game
According to Sporting News’ blog The Baseline, Kings president Geoff Petrie
was out scouting draft prospect Ricky Rubio who had to leave the game with an apparent groin injury.
“…With the worst record in the NBA, the Sacramento Kings obviously have the best chance at getting the No. 1 pick in June’s draft — we’ll know the order after the draft lottery Tuesday night. Team president Geoff Petrie is busy scouting players, and Saturday he was in Spain to get an up-close look at point guard wonder Ricky Rubio. We know this because Petrie was providing updates via Twitter.
Unfortunately, Rubio played only 10 minutes before getting injured. According to one of Petrie’s Twitter posts: “Rubio left game with apparent groin strain defending in open court. Went to lockerroom…”
Haven’t heard exactly to what extent Rubio’s injury is, but this won’t affect his draft status.
