Im not even mad at castillo. i just feel bad for the guy. But if one more guy on this team drops another pop-up due with out using two hands......delgado did the same thing earlier in the year.
I was at game 7 of the 2006 NLCS when endy made the catch and beltran buckled on the wainwright curve. I was at the last game of 2007 when glavine got smoked. I was at the last game at shea, when we lost again to the marlins. The mets organization is just cursed.
I just pray that this kind of thing never happens to the knicks. one team's dissapointment is enough. Its just demoralizing.
Sorry to vent mets frustrations on the knicks blog.

Not the place for it but as a fellow Mets fan that one left me with my jaw on the ground again.

Castillo after the game ws truly crushed. He needs to get back in the line up today and put this behind him,

Tommy. I agree with your sentiments but all this team needs to do is get TO the playoffs and get on a roll.

I think all the injuries and adversity at the 1/3rd pole will build character for August and September when all the troops get back. I stills ee a run in this team. They have built up some heart in the recent adversity and I think we'll come thru it.

Life a s a Mets fan aint easy but hell.. what is.. ?

Good thing the game is 4:10 so we can get back on the field ASAP. I think we gotta chance tonite against HGH Andy.

Keep the faith brothers.

Furthermore I can't remember a team, and we're talking about 4 or 5 years now, that can't get certain players out. Guys like Utley, Rollins, Werth, Jeter, Chipper....it's amazing how the Law of Averages doesn't apply to these guys in clutch situations.

I mean Jeter last night. That hit against K was ridiculous. But that's what he does along with a countless number of hitters that the Mets just CAN'T get out.

When Jeter got the flip hit, I knew he was scoring. Obviously, not the way it happened, but as a met fan you know that once you don't get him out it's not good.

Seen it a million times, and frankly I'm almost immune to these type of losses.

It is what it is Cheech. the Yankee fans have the right to rub it in. After getting constantly undressed against the Sawx they need to feel good. Sadly, Castillo gave them the chance.

As far as the mets and expectations, those expectations, for me. went away in 2007 via the collapse. THe Phillies are better and the farm system isn't strong enough to get better.

I trust Omar, but he has his work cut out for him. I still root but would love to see Mets fans realize that this is a team on the slight decline with no flexibility short term.

THey have a solid core and I wouldn't break it up regardless of what some NY mouthpieces say, they can still build around Johan, Wright, Reyes and Tran.

Omar has to hustle, even healthy this team will fight for the wild card but the division is out of the question in my opinion.

Cheech- I am a die-hard Mets fan. That loss was as bad as it can get. I just listened to callers on the Fan calling for Luis to be benched, but in all seriousness, Jerry Manuel cannot afford to sit him. His presence in this depleted lineup is too important.

I respect Luis. He is a professional and he has had a good year thus far. He is hitting at a respectable average and is getting on base very well, especially without Reyes. Luis will never drop a ball like that again. he should have used two hands, but when you boil that play down, it was a fluke. Hopefully he comes out tomorrow with a couple of hits to help the Mets win.

Please grab gortat DW. If we have interest in Darko. Then we should love Gortat.
On a side note: Tommy from what i can tell you are a met fan. Im a huge met fan. and i must say, i hope the knicks never get to a point where there are expectations to be good. yet the team consistently lets the fan base down. there is nothing more demoralizing. i dont think i could take two teams like that. at least with the current knicks you know what ur gonna get at the end of the day....
