Memphis starts the Dominos

As we know, what the Grizzlies decide to do will dictate what happens afterword. I think the Kings decision is also important to what the Knicks decide to do.

Check out Greg Anthony’s take.

Also, if there’s a voice to listen to in evaluating guards it’s Anthony. I agree that the guards in this draft, fitting a system will be the key to their success. He is a fan of Brandon Jennings.

Did he mention Holiday or did I miss it?

    Steam was really broken up

Sounds like Rubio needs a big market to get him to play this side of the Atlantic

    Who knows

nope.. bad job by Greg Anthony

I believe Memphis will go for Thabett. Rubio will be drafted by a team that will keep him in Spain until his contract expires or a reasonable buyout is arranged. In either event Milicic is expendable. He is young and D’Antoni may be able to get his career on track. Big order as Detroit, Orlando and Memphis has not been able to motivate Milicic. I am confident the Knicks will get a servicable PG at the 8th spot. Not very confident the Knicks will move up but I would give it a try to get my guy Stephen Curry. Soon will be know. It is an exciting time.

The thing is.. What team in teh top ten can afford to have such a high draft pick sit in Europe for two years?

When you draft in the top 10 you NEED a player who will come in and make an impact. On AND off the court.

Oralndo a few years back took Fran Vasquez with the 11 pick and was Reeeeling when he decided to stay in Europe. Now granted they have recovered well from it but at the time this wa a BIG BIG Deal.

Ricky isnt even Working out for teams. He is INTERVIEWING with Sacto who had Jrue int he gym twice already sweating up a storm.. Ricky ISNT even telling Memphis when he will be in the states.

With the recent news that the Spanish IRS holds the buyout as payment for DKV’s past due taxes I dont see much of a chance of a significant reduction in the cost to get out of Spain.

I think all this leads to a drive to get Ricky in NYC at the 8 slot.

You Know What Would Be Weird Guys? Picking Between The Hyped Up Ricky Rubio Or The Underhyped Brandon Jennings.

I agree there are not many lottery teams willing to warehouse Rubio. I also agree that a would love to have him with the 8th pick. The Knicks can manage with Duhon and a pick up like Sergio Rodriquez until we can get Rubio over here. It is just a matter of time. Lord knows we have waited long enough to get the right pieces in place. Let’s hope it plays out for us. Rubio in 8th!!!

Keep in mind, a team can draft rubio and trade is rights to any team for a player that would help them now

Even though there may not be a team in the top 5 that can warehouse “la pistola”, there are plenty of teams with assets to move for rubio’s rights and wait for 1 or 2 years for his current contract issue to settle

I want him too, but there is now way he will be there at 8

Getting rubio at 8 is a pipe dream, We should be happy there are so may great guards to pick in this draft.

If we’re talking about ‘fitting the system’ curry is the best prospect for us. Don’t underestimate the importance of our PG’s ability to shoot jumpers consistently. it is by far, the most vital part of the PGs game in this system. Obviously he needs to be a good decision maker and passer, but the next item on the list has to be shooting, without a doubt. I don’t know how good Jennings is, but no one does and no one can know, and we do know that his jump shot is not even 25% as good as Curry’s, so i don’t get how we would ever pick him over Curry.

Curry is way too perfect for us, it seems too good to be true.

Rubio isn’t a great shooter but I guarantee they take him over Curry if that presented itself.

Which is to say I believe they have Rubio higher than Curry…

I take Curry over Rubio. He seems the fit for the Kincks
