Ewing Jr. On Summer League Roster?

Via Alan Hahn:

“…The Knicks have yet to finalize the roster for the NBA Summer League in Las Vegas, but one name that we did hear to be among the players expected to be there is Patrick Ewing, Jr.

The 6-6 forward was the final cut by the Knicks at the end of training camp and spent the season with Reno of the D-League. He injured his knee in March and did not finish the season. The hope is he will be ready to play in time for the first game, which is July 14 against Hasheem Thabeet and the Grizzlies…”

I’ve heard there is still some concern about the knee and let’s face it, Ewing’s athleticism is a huge part of his game. I was, and still am, a huge proponent of bringing in Ewing because it’s a great PR move and because the guy is a solid defender with offensive upside. But, should he prove healthy, play great over the summer and make the team, then where are the minutes?

Ewings got game, during all the trade drama rallying around the draft, i said if ended up trading Chandler, then we should sign Ewing..but on the current roster, he has no place, he wouldnt get any playtime, not to mention D’Antoni barely likes to play 10 guys

Our SL roster as of now (from what i’ve heard) consist of:
    Douglas/Wink Adams
    JoCrawford/Alex Acker
    PeJr/Gallinari(hes playing right?)
    Hill/Chris Hunter
    Saer/Sims/Curry?

wonder if any of them will earn contract..(obviously Douglas & Hill will)

gallo isn’t playing, just working out

  • Deh-rehk Har-perrr

Curry isn’t playing either. Maybe he’ll be there to work out, though.

agreed good PR to have a guy named Patrick Ewing on the team but..

    a. he has to be able to contribute
    b. his dad has become a PR Nightmare for the KNIX.
When the Knicks hired D Ant Pat Sr said..”why not me?”
when the Knicks were considering his son he scorced them
for not drafting him, then cutting him.

Imagine if Jr was the 13th man?
We’d have quotes from Sr Spewing about how his kid should be starting
    over freaking Lebron.

They say even bad PR is good PR..that may have been proven wrong by the Zeke era Knicks. I’d prefer winning basketball to be the best PR.
