As you’ve read, I believe the attention is now on Hill then Rubio…

  • Magik_Trick

Didnt Rubio say hes definitely staying in Spain for the next 2 years? So, shouldn’t we just forget about Rubio in NY for now?

  • knicksbro

Nah the report wasn’t totally legit and Rubio hasn’t said anything about it. Plus, he would only say that to send Kahn a message to trade him…

  • Myles A. Mills

    ramon sessions!

  • gordons18

offer him 5 years, maybe he’ll pull a Hedo, and no way Cuban goes 8 Mil for 5

  • bob go knicks

i agree with Myles A. Mills RAMON SESSIONS-PG THE NEXT Devin Harris

  • Magik_Trick

    Offer a 36-year old a 5 year contract? We’d be better without..

  • Magik_Trick

I’d love to have Sessions but Milwaukee will match our MLE

  • BiggieSmalls

Talk Nash into getting out of his PHX contract and get him over here..

He’s a much better fit than Kidd.

  • gordons18

he’ll prob retire before the end of the contract and will come off the cap anyway.

i can’t help but think we NEED Kidd, both to make the playoffs and to help recruit LeBron. LBJ’s not gonna want to come to a team that can’t even make the playoffs, and would not gonna enjoy being a babysitter for young untested teammates.

  • CircleLimit4

I think Phoenix is going to want something in return.

  • BiggieSmalls

they have a team option for 13.5 million.

They have until August to choose to exercise it or let him walk.

if they are in full out rebuilding / cost cutting mode maybe they cut bait.

Im not sure if they deal with us on a trade. But if we can put together 13 mil in assets im sure Nash would accept a pay cut on a long term extension .. in the 7-8 mil range.

  • knicksbro

Biggie I know you want Rubio here like I do and you think it will happen…but when?

  • CircleLimit4

I would think they would shop him around for some expirings and/or young blood/draft picks instead of just cutting him loose, but I hope you’re right.

    Harrington and Duhon for Nash?

  • CircleLimit4

    And filler of course.

  • BiggieSmalls

thing is 13.5 mil is a big nut to ship off.. who has that type of juice to pass over to PHX?
How about Nash and Barbosa for Mobley’s insured contract, duhon and Jeffries.

we can speculate but who knows if PHX does business with us.. hope so.

  • BiggieSmalls

well i think they are playing coy with the media and Kahn right now.

They should try to pull something off around or after the moratorium is lifted..

It was Rubio’s father who said he was staying in Europe. If Real Madrid drops some dime on him we may be SOL but if he is coming to the NBA it is to NY.

He definitely not ballin for DKV this year.

  • BiggieSmalls

    just thinking out loud..

PHX is right aqt the cap for 2009/10 .. with the lack of interest in the FA market maybe their BEST move if they cant move Amare is to use Nash’s 13.5 mil in space on 2 or maybe three young free agents.

if they can then move Amare fo a few young pieces they can be under or at the cap and have a good core of 5 or so young players..

Instead of playing a year with Amare and Nash and being capped out with budget issues.

  • bob go knicks

how do you know this? tommie dee doesnt even know this! ramon sessions doesnt even know this

  • KBT1615

no Milwaukee said they will match any offer.

  • Bart

So let me get this right Kidd is the first option and Rubio is the second?

  • KBT1615

Yea and it makes perfect sense.

  • bmathews77

I’m surprised there’s hope we might still get Ricky Rubio. The GM of the T-Wolves is a stubborn guy and doesn’t look like he’s giving up on getting Rubio in a T-Wolves uniform even if he has to wait 2 years or more.
I actually think we need to move on from the Rubio talk….I don’t see it happening anymore. That time has passed.

  • knicksbro

But don’t you think he would pull a Jay Cutler and be more aggressive and demand a trade before he would go back to Spain? If he DEMANDED Kahn to trade him he would have to.

  • knicksbro

I don’t get why everyone is saying that Rubio won’t happen and to move on. He’s made it clear that he won’t play a game in a T-Wolves jersey, which means he will have to be traded. Why would Kahn risk losing him for nothing when he gave up 2 very good players to get him in the first place…Rubio has said he wants to come to NY so I don’t see how there is no chance…there is actually a pretty good chance now that Kidd isn’t even coming.

  • EQ1217

I feel there is still hope, only for the fact that It’s only been a week and a half since the draft and the off-season basically just started.

Now once the pre-season games have started and the Rubio stuff hasn’t been resolved then we can put it on the backburner, until then it’s still way too early to lose hope.

  • Bart

I would love to here how.

  • harlem heat

So we offer a few mill more! This kid is just what we need & spending a mil or to more to a team that’s broke & just drafted a PG & has Ridnour won’t chase it & are hoping people just sleep on this kid! 2 or 3 mil more won’t hurt us ay all for what we are trying to do long term. If we trade curry & huges for T-mac then we really won’t feel it @ all! That kid should be part of our future!
