"Replacing" Nate with Grant Hill is Mo Cheeks for Rod Strickland all over again. It's Marcus Camby and Nene for Antonio Mc Dyess all over again. When will the Knicks ever learn? It seems like Ground Hog Day with this team. Let's replace a 25 yr old rising star, with a 36 yr old who's biggest accomplishment in the last few years is that he made it through an 82 game season without injury on his surgically reconstructed ankles. A guy who's never been out of the first round of the playoffs.

I rather take my chances with a young guy like Nate, who's got at least 7-10 yrs left, than a guy like Hill who is literally standing on his last legs.

This is crazy. Nate was one of the top 3 scorers in the NBA after the All Star Game last year up until March. He was 3rd behind Kobe and LeBron.

He was the favorite for Sixth Man Of The Year thru March, and all of a sudden it's time to give up on him? Nate is one of the few players on this team to get better every year he's been in the league. Last year was the first time he FINALLY played in a system that played to his strengths. You don't give up on guys like that. You develop them.

Everyone wants the quick fix.

He's immature, so what? He's 25. You discipline him. I think all this talk of him getting traded out of here is a wake up call, and he'll get his act together. Nate reminds me of Denver's J.R. Smith.

He's a bit of a knuckle head (Nate is nowhere near as bad), but he's come a long way in the last few years. Imagine if Denver gave up on him in '06? He wouldn't have been able to grow into one of the game's best Sixth Men.

Nate's a game changer. A tempo changer. At 36 the only thing Grant Hill's changing is the ice packs on his ankles after the game.

Odom and Marion are both out of the question at the Mid Level for us. We're not looking for a guy to be an allstar and Lead our team to victory, we're just looking to add some leadership to the lineup. What has he done lately? He played 82 games last year and played very well, especially at the end of the season. He knows the system, knows the game, is a versatile player who can play point forward at times if he needs to, and there is not one other player available at the price besides young guys who will make no difference.

What does the celtics' cap room have to do with how good grant hill is? They only have 1.9 to offer, so that means Grant Hill isn't good? I'm missing your logic. So far the only person on our team you can say is better than him is Nate Robinson, and hate to break it to you but Nate is detrimental to the team, and anyone who watched the Knicks last year is itching to get rid of him. If we replaced Nate with Grant Hill we would be a much better team. A starting Lineup with Duhon, Grant Hill, Chandler, and Lee sounds like a playoff team.

All you have done is rip on grant hill and suggest we get Lamar Odom, which is not even remotely possible at the MLE, so please provide me with a better option instead of just saying Grant Hill isn't a good one.

Hill would get the same offer that Marbury got from the Celtics the vet minimum, and hes gonna be the best player on the team next year? get outta here. If Grant Hill is the best player on your team your franchise is in trouble and I don't buy that Vet leadership stuff with Grant Hill what has he done lately? Nothing that I can recall hes a high character guy but hes not gonna lead the Knicks any where.

the way it seems is there are:

hill
marion
lee

teams with cap space:

portland

if la decides to jump in, then odem prob becomes available.

good odds.

Didn't think that Portland would, but they are the only one's who could. I think he will be offered the MLE from someone else.

I think that LA still maintained their Bird rights to Odom and he has said that he wants to stay in LA. Since they didn't sign a free agent other than the MLE, I don't believe that they had to relinquish those rights.

I could be wrong.

Even though it's only an MLE, I honestly don't think they will chris. They already have two large contracts in VC and rashard and D12 is a free agent in 2011, so they probably want to work out an extension next year which will cost them an arm and a leg. Not to mention that they still might want to dip into free agency next year as well.

Ok, one prob there buddy, obviously the lakers aren't using the MLE due to artest. But they can't match offers considering he's a UFA not an RFA. And who says portland wants odom? Just because they were pursuing tukoglu, doesn't mean they want odom also. They could be more focused on someone like D. Lee at this point.
