Depends on what's agreed upon. Millsap will get 7 at the most, I say 6 3/$18mil or 4/$24mil). Millsap at 6 with his youth is a very tradeable number. Or Millsap can go to Portland in this deal. The goal is to get the #1, lose Jeffries and get a young player or 2 (Fernandez, Millsap).

Millsap is no slouch by the way, check out his numbers when he started for Boozer. They're better than Lee's as a starter. The guy can play.

If Chicago can get Carlos Boozer that is quite a team and can really contend in the eastern conference.

PF - Carlos Boozer
SF - Loul Deng
C - Brad Miller
PG - Derrick Rose
SG - John Salmons

Its just too bad they don't have Ben Gordon still though because they're bench needs a little more depth since all they'd have is Joakim Noah.

I agree with everything you said about the DW, Mike D' and the Knicks. But let me remind you, the Bulls are not committed long term to Carlos Boozer.

Boozer only has one year left of his contract (the option he decided to pick), so he is... at least until further notice... a rental. And no, that moves doesn't put them in the mix with Magics, Cavs and Celtics.... but without this move they are left with last year team minus their best scorer, that being Ben Gordon. So without this move and with the way the Pacers, Wizards and Raptors are getting better... don't you think their spot in the top 8 is in danger? At least with Boozer they get a scoring vet inside to pair with Noah and Miller. The new star of this team is going to be Derrick Rose who can only get better. So it doesn't take them to the elite, but it puts them in good position to fight for a spot in the 4-8 range.

In the past week i have probably posted 5,000 words trying to explain what you just explained in the last few sentences. Great points. We will keep getting better with youth, cheap veterans, and blue-chip talents that they find (maybe douglas?) The idea is that one day, either sooner or later (maybe lebron maybe not) there will be an opportunity for a player(s) who really is the RIGHT player(s), and we not only will be much better by then, but we will have the room to acquire them.

patience...

how are we getting millsap? is he taking the qual offer? is it via sign-and-trade? do the knicks even want millsap if we have to give him a longterm deal at, say, 7-9 mil a season? i doubt it..

this move is not that great for the bulls really... it will saddle them with an injury prone PF long term... and the idea that this move puts the bulls in the mix with Cleveland, Boston, Orlando is exaggerated.

Walsh is not under the same pressure as some of the GMs we are talkin about either... Ferry and Dumars especially are under tremendous pressure to improve. Walsh is exactly what the knicks franchise needed. A very knowledgable basketball mind who knows the business as well as the game.

How does anyone know Utah didnt contact Walsh about boozer just to inquire... not everything makes the news... not everything goes that far... Walsh is always busy tryin to make this team better for the future... It will cement his legacy if he can get the knicks back to winning basketball. I myself was skeptical of the Walsh hiring but Im very comfortable with he and D'Antoni in control here. It is not imcompetence that has made this offseason not very noteworthy, it's patience.

Walsh will acquire the RIGHT players for this coach, this team and this city.... period.

I like the crickets right now... and notice how nobody is dogging the knicks right now... no you tube clips of anybody embarrassing themselves.

Summer League can't start soon enuff!!!

I agree there wasn't much out there and Marbury was still on the roster. I would have been cool with Mike James or Earl Watson. Duhon could have really hooked himself up with a solid year. Veterans should not hit the wall that soon, maybe his back was effed up.
