Summer League

Another name that I just realized was on the summer league roster is former UNC glue-guy David Noel.

Noel is a strong, tweener type wh0 was an outstanding defender during his career with the Heels.

Obviously, Patrick Ewing Jr. and Morris Almond are the big names,  but keep and eye out for Noel, Nikoloz Tskitishvili, and Rashaad Singleton out of Georgia. I was shocked he wasn’t drafted.

First game is July 14th at 6pm with a replay on MSG at 10.

  • Chris Alvino

    This team is pretty nasty.

    Full of Mr.Po

They say Morris Almond is the frontrunner for a contract, hes seems like a great shooter, but he also seems selfish and hes never seen a shot he didn’t like…

I might go down and watch it live, who is coaching?

  • Bart

    Is Curry gonna play

  • Mal

Im to the point Im tired of complaining, about FA and our current situation
Im gonna go watch these guys a couple of times at the Summer League and see what if any warm fuzzies I get from any of the guys. Summer League can gas u up but u must remember these are summer league/d league players competition
Nate was MVP 2 yrs ago and last year J Bayless was a monster, like Westbrook is tearing up the Orlando Summer League, you cant really guage these guys vs this talent

If Curry were smart he would play and show the team and coaching staff that he has worked hard and show them what he can do BUT knowing his lazy no work ethic attitude he won’t.

Korolev is another name to watch out for, he’s still quite young. I think Tskitishvili has passed the point of no return.

  • Bruno

True. You can’t gauge them as if they were playing vs NBA-elite, but there’s something to be said if they’re lighting up similar caliber competition.

We should of signed Adrien to replace Lee…. A great rebounder in college is a good rebounder in the NBA just look at Milsap, Karl Malone, David Lee…….. We missed the boat with him I’m telling you since Memphis just signed him to their summer league roster

  • AlexStone84

Nice looks like all games will be televised on MSG this year…

  • Ftingue

This a a pretty good summer league squad , too bad NBA isn’t like the MLB where we could have a big league team and a minor league squad.

I dont know much about Noel. Anybody heard about these Andre Miller rumors? Do we even have moeny for him? He would be a nice pick up

  • bmathews77

I heard about the Andre Miller rumors as well…this is what I read:

“If the Knicks don’t sign Grant Hill, free-agent point guard Andre Miller could be their fallback plan.

A team source indicated that New York could turn their attention to Miller if Hill elects to re-sign with the Suns.

The Knicks could offer Miller a deal worth the mid-level exception, although is he rumored to be looking for significantly more.”

Ok so apparently the Knicks are ordering Eddy to go to the summer league:

“The Knicks have ordered Eddy Curry to report to the Summer League in Las Vegas so that the team can monitor his progress.

Curry won’t play for New York’s summer league team, but will work out with the club on Sunday.

Trainer Jerry Powell says Curry, who began a strict diet and workout regimen in May, has lost almost 50 pounds.

“They want to see what he looks like,” Powell told Alan Hahn Newsday. “They want to see him get up and down with the summer league team and practice.”

Powell added that it’s clear Curry’s “confidence has been damaged.”
