Troy Hudson Getting A Workout

by Myles A. Mills on August 11th, 2009 at 8:41 pm

Via Alex Kennedy:

“On Thursday morning, point guard Troy Hudson will work out for the New York Knicks.

Last week, Hudson held a work out in Las Vegas for the Oklahoma City Thunder, Memphis Grizzlies, Philadelphia 76ers, and Detroit Pistons.

New York was pursuing free agent Ramon Sessions, but sources tell RealGM’s Alex Kennedy that talks have broken down because of New York’s hesitance to add salary to their payroll in 2010.

Sessions is a restricted free agent, which means that the Knicks must offer him a contract of at least two years.

Hudson has averaged 9.0 points and 3.4 over the course of his eleven-year career.”

I mean can I get a workout?  I understand due diligence but is this necessary?  Who’s next?  Bonzi Wells?  I also don’t believe that talks have broken down with Sessions.  Walsh is just not willing to offer Sessions the full MLE, especially when he has no other offers.  If Isiah was here, Sessions would have been signed in early July to a 5 year deal.  As fans it’s hard to be patient and look at the bigger picture, but until another offer is made there’s no need for Walsh to throw money and cap space at Sessions, especially since he’s never experienced success throughout a full season.

Quick sidebar on Troy Hudson.  He retired initially to pursue a music career as T-Hud.  His album, Undrafted, sold 78 copies in its first week.  ”I have my own label — Nutty Boyz Entertainment — and I have three artists,” he said.  I’ll pass.

Yes Myles but what you forgot to add to that Isiah comment, was that Sessions would be signed to a 5 year…… 96 million dollar contract.

I don’t get why they don’t give Mike Taylor a look…I understand that they want more of a proven point, but honestly, troy hudson isn’t the answer to that problem.

  • jaknicksfan

I Agree With you 100% Mike Taylor would be a nice addition to the team and not to expensive either.

  • Magik_Trick

I like Mike Taylor, but bringing him in would be equal to playing Toney Douglas in some legit minutes
