Rashad McCants To Work Out With Charlotte
Alex Kennedy of RealGM caught up with Rashad McCants, an
unrestricted free agent. McCants informed Kennedy that he has a workout with the Charlotte Bobcats, and has been pursued by Denver and Miami as well.
I actually like McCants. Sure, he is cocky, but there is no denying his talent. McCants is a good athlete with deep range on his jumper. McCants can finish at the rim and has a good handle.
I have never met McCants, so I am not sure if he has an attitude problem. But having seen him play, McCants clearly has talent, even if he has been inconsistent. At this point in the summer, perhaps McCants can be a decent fit on this roster. McCants might just be a guy that needs a change of scenery. Two seasons ago, McCants scored 14.9 ppg on 40.7 % shooting from beyond the arc in 27 mpg. The guy can score the ball and might be able to do more than Morris Almond on the court.
For the league minimum, a player like McCants can surprise people.
Also, Jerry Zgoda of the Star Tribune wrote:
“Expect Kahn to make at least one more trade — perhaps as soon as Wednesday involving an expiring contract(s) — to get the roster into what he deems better competitive shape before training camp begins Sept. 29 in Mankato.”
Everyone keep your fingers crossed this involves the Knicks and Rubio’s rights….
Just kidding.
