off topic…. but Ramon Sessions has not looked good at all in preseason and yes i know it is preseason…. but if many of us were critizing donnie for not spenind 4 million on the kid i think we should also offer fair praise if sessions turns out not to be the very player that many of us thought he would. yes minnesota and the knicks have different systems but still…… in donnie i trust

hes not starting, and RAMBIS has him playing only 20 minutes a game…F DONNIE WALSH

Walsh has done nothing to improve this team and his draft picks this year have been barely adequate.this season will be a joke.Nate is still taking a bunch of ill advised shots,Chandler is sooo overated by the fans its insane,we still dont have a PG or a real center.for that matter we dont have a 2 guard.we are an entire team of 3s and 4s,most of whom will have their contracts expire at the end of the season. So then we sign say,JOE JOHNSON n CHRIS BOSH.the rest of our team is JJ,EDDY CURRY,GALLO,CHANDLER,and the 2 rooks.we gonna win with that?

Have to disagree with your last post Bob. Walsh has improved the team by simply allowing the group to grow together without the upheaval of trades. I expect to see continued improvement as players become more comfortable with what they are being asked to do by the coaching staff. Don’t under estimate the value of team chemistry either. I’ve coached down under for over 30 years and some of my best teams weren’t necessarily the ones with the most individual talent, but the ones that gelled, sacrificed for each other and played well together as a team. When that happens it’s the same effect as adding 2+3 and getting 7. The end result is greater than the sum of the parts. That may be what is unfolding right now on the Knicks. Continually chopping and changing the roster to bring in a “star” is highly disruptive. This was born out by what occurred after the trades last season. I like what I’m seeing at present. The team is moving in the right direction and IMO has good direction from both the coaching staff and front office. Don’t write them off before the season even starts.

The Triple Post Offense isn’t easy to grasp, why would anyone expect a 2nd year player to have it locked in before the end of preseason? Not to mention he signed on pretty late, he’s probably not in basketball shape (it’s risky to play basketball when not under contract for risk of injury)

You’re absolutely right, but a “cardboard cutout” (as fellow poster Big would say) could have done nothing, which is exactly what he’s done this offseason.

sorry AUSSIE,Fans seem to overate team chemestry, but in the NBA,TALENT RULES.

My point was that if Sessions was tearing it up, people would be saying Donnie this, Donnie that…. but since the kid isn’t doing anything yet and I know it is pre-season, but still if it were the opposite people would bash donnie. He knows talent better than any of us….. maybe he passed on sessions for a reason.

    Darko was a great move…

True but then again there’s reason most players are in the NBA. It’s because they’re talented or have a great deal of hype surrounding them, as they’ve proved it at another level. Look at the 03-04 Lakers they had a wealth of talent (albeit some on the wrong side of they’re career) but don’t remember seeing them beat the spurs (a team that always has great chemistry because of they’re mainstay at head coach and diligent GM work.)

Don’t really think that blanket statement works too well here.
