no one is getting another contract sitting on the bench waving a towel.

Marbury sat out most of the year and then was hirribly out of rhythm.

I can argue that if he left the Knicks at the beginning of the season and latched onto a title contender for a full season he could have been offered more than the vet minimum for 2009/10

Marbury TV killed any chance of that happening along side his fantastic selfless player skills.

I loved how he was gonna go to Boston and did $hit.

that worked well for Marbury getting his NEXT contract.

That would make up for anything lost bya ccepting a buyout and getting to a team taht will actually allow him to play.

i wouldnt be surprised if larry hughes wouldnt accept a 3 mill discount.
because by his logic, he earned every cent of that contract.

and he’d probably only get the veteran minumujm from any team. and we all know that is not 3 mil.

This is the most frustrating thing about Donnie.

If Hughes is on the outside looking in and will be stewing on the bench just buy him out at a 3 mil discount and send him home to get a contract from someone else.

I just dont understand the issue. We HAVE TO let some contracts melt away in order to get under the cap what’s the difference if we do it now or later?

Doing it now removes a potential malcontent and opens a roster spot.

Even if Donnie liked buying out contracts Curry would be the last one to get bought out.

Speculation in Cleveland is that the Cavs are so dissatisfied with Shaq and his bloated contract (and waistline), that they are willing to trade him to the knicks for former bulls Larry Hughes and Eddy Curry.

Tell Mr. Smith that we in New York can make up our own preposterous rumors wthout being given credit for his.

If Walsh had decided to buy out anyone’s contract, it would Curry’s and not Hughes’.
