Knicks Vs Sixers (Home Opener)

I am heading out of the house now headed for the Garden… Due to time constraints I will make this post short. First, I have never been more proud of Chris Duhon. It is about time someone came out and called out players for their lack of intensity (Nate Robinson, Jared Jeffries etc). As much as I respect what Nate can do on the court his attitude is simply horrific (ala Stephon Marbury). It’s a shame to see a guy with all the talent in the world who just can’t seem to screw his head on straight. Quite disappointing that the Coach of this team isn’t holding people accountable for their actions and the point guard is… It always blew my mind how you could make it to play on the highest level in the world and not have that competitive spirit burning at all times… Jeez have some pride!

It would be devastating if the Knicks came up short against the 76ers tonight. Reason being is that Chris Paul and the Hornets are coming into town on Monday. To start out 0-5 would be terrible for the Knicks, their fans and the city. The Knicks must play defense and DRIVE TO THE BASKET when the lanes are open! Enough settling for 3 pointers all game. The worst play of the game last night was the end of regulation when the game was tied. Four seconds left with the score tied 82-82 and the Knicks pull up for a long 3 pointer. All you need is one measly point… Go to the basket and force the Bobcats to stop you while avoiding a foul. The Knicks make it easy for the other team and until they change their attitude on the court (which is what Duhon was referring too) and tweek parts of their offensive and defense game plan we are in for a long season. Hopefully the home crowd can change their fortunes tonight at the worlds most famous arena. I know i will be there doing my part. I’ll try and send updates via the cell at halftime.

ho can you have guys foolin around before the game in the layup lie etc.and the HEAD COACH not scream a these guys in the locker room.i bet you the stuff DUHON said last night has absolutly NO EFFECT on this poor excuse for a team.Nate Robinson should have been sent outta here 2 years ago when him and zach randolph went at it on the benchthis guy is nothing but a self promoter.when he should be concentrating on making a foul shot,he instead is saluting and tugging on his ear.D’antoni shoulda benched him last year when he as pulling those stupid stunts with Will Ferrell

Everyone who thinks the slow start is due to Nate fooling around on the layup line before the game, one question, is Nate starting these games? How is he the cause of the team coming out flat?

  • HaS

Hey Bob he was instrumental in the win during that game that Will Ferrell was at.

I don’t like some of his antics either, but if he were on a winning team people would praise him for keeping the locker room loose.

Also, he didn’t play terrible last night, so I don’t know why people assume its Nate. Duhon didn’t say who it was, so who knows? Maybe it was Hill who has a little funny bone, laughing after losses.

I think what Duhon said..I think those things have been a big problem for this team for more than just a couple of seasons. intensity and a desire win is just missing from this team during the practices and in between games. The coach must inspire this. Props to duhon for saying something!!! Props to Duhon!!

it is not nates fault per se’, but why would Duhon make such a comment if it wasnt true about certain players or the overall team attitude. Is Duhon the type of guy to just make shit up or point fingers? I dont think so. People are just assuming nate is part of it. I think nate stays loose, has fun, and plays hard, but he doesnt inspire the seriousness or the intensity needed for this team to develop that killer attitude you need to win games. Look at what garnett brought to boston. professionalism and a will to win.

I just saw in the pregame that jeffries and harrington werent exactly in agreement with duhon. What they should say is “we are a team and if we need to be more intense in our preparation for the game then thats what we have to do. Last season was bad and we need to do whatever we can to improve significantly beyondlast season. If he saw that then we will talk to him and and find out how he’s feeling and we will fix what needs to be fixed.”
    sorry so long
