Game Notes
At this point, in my eyes, the Knicks aren’t supposed to beat anybody. Especially a team that beat the Knicks three times last year. Let’s face it. Van Gundy said it best, and I’ve said this before. The Knicks just aren’t good. It’s not the system; they’re simply not equipped with the players to execute the system successfully. Hence the stress on free agency. The Knicks don’t have the players to score or defend effectively. David Lee at center? Please.
I’m looking forward to seeing Brandon Jennings (6/16 last night, benched for Luke Ridnour in the fourth,) but I’m definitely not looking forward to hearing Knick fans whine about how we should have taken Brandon Jennings over Jordan Hill. We can’t go back, and even if we could, it’s early.
The Knicks get to play the Bucks without their best player, Michael Redd, but they lost to the Pacers without Troy Murphy. And that was at home. Hopefully this team can turn everything around, but right now there’s just not much to be excited about. Last year, I emotionally disconnected myself with the results of games around game 70. It’s game 7, and I’m already ready to send a letter to Mike D’Antoni requesting a couple of things:
1) Start Danilo Gallinari and give him 20 shots a night.
2) Start Jordan Hill at the five and Nate Robinson at point when he gets back.
3) Package Wilson Chandler with Jared Jeffries in a trade.
But it’s early, so I’ll relax.
