Curry Confused…See ya in a few years?

by Tommy Dee on November 14th, 2009 at 7:24 pm

Via the SF Chronicle:

“…While playing in the arena of the team that famously coveted him leading up to the 2009 NBA Draft, Stephen Curry played a career low two minutes and 35 seconds.

“This is as tired as I’ve ever been in my life,” Curry said after the Warriors victory over the Knicks.

“It sucks. It sucks. You don’t want to be sitting and watching, especially how the season has started,” he said. “Hopefully, I won’t get used to it, but we’ll see what happens.”

Coach Don Nelson hasn’t addressed the subject with his rookie and avoided the topic with the media.

“This is the first game that I haven’t used him, and he’s got to understand that those other guys were playing great,” Nelson said. “There will be plenty of time for him to play.”

“They haven’t told me that I’m doing anything wrong,” Curry said. “I’ll ask some questions, because I hate this feeling. I come in and work every day, try to learn and take practice seriously, so I’ve just got to keep doing that and be patient. …

“I’ll do it in a respectful way. I’ll do it in a way that shows I’m willing to work harder if I need to or do something different if I need to. I’m not going to walk in and yell, ‘Coach, why ain’t you playing me?…’ “

Yeah, and throw in the tattoo comment, I have no idea what Nellie was thinking drafting him.

  • bartnyk

    Nate

    and

    Duhon

    for

    Claxton

    and

    Curry

And Nellie gets the backfire smoke in his face.

  • bduigs

How soon could this deal happen? Feb?

  • JC in DC

I think I can safely say that many Knicks fans are just as frustrated as Curry. The Warriors sign Ellis to a long term deal and then draft Curry. The Timberwolves draft Rubio, Flynn, and then sign Sessions. The Grizzlies sign Iverson and then Tinsley. Donnie Walsh … just sits on his hands, continues to answer every question with “2010″ and SAYS that he and Mike D want to win this year while Duhon keeps giving them nothing night in and night out.

  • itzyung1

How can you blame Donnie for any of that? EXCEPT Sessions.

  • JC in DC

My bad … I’m not blaming Donnie for all that … I’m just pointing out how frustrating the draft, off season, and now regular season has been … well, to me. The Knicks could have had Curry if not for the Warriors, could have signed Sessions if not for 2010, and didn’t sign Iverson or Tinsley, ummm, because they thought they weren’t good fits? Sorry … just venting.

  • itzyung1

Its alright we all are Knick fans we all are frustrated..
What makes it even more frustrating is sitting here watching these John Wall Highlights….

  • JC in DC

Thanks itzyung1 … I am avoiding all John Wall highlights and articles …

  • Chris Alvino

It is frustrating that Walsh has not done a thing to shore up the PG spot. He brought in a bunch of guys for looks over the summer, but did nothing to follow through on them. Now Tinsley is in Memphis. J Williams is on Orlando. Arroyo is in Miami. Both Williams and Arroyo are playing well… better than Duhon has played. So frustrating.

  • DaGawD_KnowLedge

ellis jackson an i think curry been available

i read somewhere that they drafted him to trade him
i 4got what else it said..

this is going to be a krazy season for the nba..

let’s see what donnie can comeout with

  • itzyung1

Its HARD because I love College Basketball and He looks like the Next Derrick Rose.

Im just waiting for Donnie to make a move though.Dump some of these Sorry Veterans.

  • DaGawD_KnowLedge

plus nellie isn’t going to coach the warriors anymore

but that tattoo stuff is funny

he needs tats to be in the starting lineup.lmao

  • traps9

Just my view, but I wish we would’ve/could’ve signed Kidd. I’ve liked him since I was a youngster.

  • Bob

CUZ,while others were busy improving their teams ,donnnie was doing nothing

  • dino2008

and risk the chance of having an opportunity to sign LBJ… hell no. Also, everyone harps on donnies mistakes but give him MAJOR CREDIT for not signing Ramon Sessions, the kid does not look anywhere near as good as a lot of us including myself thought he is. that 4 million extra on the cap would hurt us. just clear cap space, develop Gallo, Hill and Douglas. Use chandler, al, lee, etc to move jj… it will prob be impossible to move eddy unless he comes in and plays extremley well.

  • dino2008

that isnt true one bit. the reason why amare wasnt traded to the warriors was because they didnt want to give up curry.

  • josh h

I honestly wouldnt be so upset with the Knicks sucking so much if we still had a first round draft pick next year, but we dont. At this point, there is no way we are going to win with what we have.

Lets make an offer to Jesus Christ, we can use the MLE on him, and hope that coach D doesnt start Duhon over him.

  • http://theKnicksBlog.com Tommy Dee

source close to amare’ told me a few days after the draft that he was never getting traded there bc he wouldn’t sign long term…

  • EQ1217

I wonder if Nelson would do Lee & Douglas for Curry?

  • vinrummy

Watching the Nets play the Heat (because I’m bored and want to see the Nets stretch their winless streak).

Just saw Wade throw an alley-oop pass to Quentin Richardson…who proceeded to throw down a dunk.

    I was confused.

  • dino2008

interesting. thanks tommy. also, i thought i remember reading that the warriors would not make the trade for amare because stephon curry fell to them and they were shocked, so regardless of wheter or not amare would sign a long term deal, i think that the warriors still wouldnt have done it because they would have had to give curry.

  • dino2008

I just read on knicks.com that New York recorded its 4th sell out in 7 games. It just shows how we are the greatest fans in the world paying BIG MONEY to watch a 1 -9 team because we love the knickerbockers. no other city would sell like we do if there team was this horrendous.

  • Dave the Rave

Curry was “tired” from watching a game in the bench? What does that mean???

The Warriors won’t trade a lottery pick (Curry). No team does that in the first year, and they have no reason to. And they just lost Azubuike…looks like he ripped his knee up.

Nellie might be gone very soon.

  • Jeff Cykiert

    You can’t trade Rookies…

And how could we trade lee and douglas for curry? The money doesn’t match up at all. And why would we? Douglas is looking great, and having curry over him and Lee isn’t going to help us be any better this year.

  • jaknicksfan

I actually went to the Draft Prayen for Curry and I couldn’t believe like the rest of us that Nelson drafted him. It just goes to show what an A**hole he really is. Then he doesn’t even use the Kid. Unreal!

  • Funk

forget Curry, biggest mistake we made was passing up on Jennings.

  • Dave the Rave

Jennings just lit up the Warriors for about 29 pts in the 3rd quarter….he was 11 for 11 at one point….totally unconscious. He just hit 43. Over 7 mins left. I was sooo wrong about him. Insane! Guess who’s trying to guard him. Curry.

  • DaGawD_KnowLedge

earl boykins back in the league
he scored 20 his first game back
    an he’s 33 yrs old..

  • Dave the Rave

    What team is Boykins on?

    Jennings has 48.

  • DaGawD_KnowLedge

    boykins is on the WIZ

    jennings going for 60 damm
    dumbass knicks

  • DaGawD_KnowLedge

if i remembered correct u can research it me your yourself

  • Dave the Rave

Bucks win. Jennings: 55 pts. He had 0 after the 1st quarter and 10 at half time.

I spoke with my cousin who lives in LA, is a long time Laker fan.I spoke with him tonight to say hello and of course the convo turned into a Knicks discussion.BTW- he loves the old Knicks w Cazzie Russell-He said some people that work for the Lakers told him that the Knicks are not playing because of the (negative)press and the constant stories about how they’re all going to be gone after this year. These L.A Laker people (players?)think the current roster does not care.repeat:DOES NOT CARE.Well..We all write how we want them to improve-and want them all gone- the main culprits: Berman,Isola, Abrams,Sheridan and ESPN etc, etc…I guess thats their job.
Yes,we are fans but this constant hope of LeBron coming here- not going to happen-NO ONE WILL COME HERE.Its going to be a long time before we start seeing a team that plays.I am a fan and I will be patient. The FA’s will use the Knicks as bait to get what they want from teams they REALLY want toplay for-2010 will be another heart breaker. Maybe DW will buy a 1st rounder w some of that money.I still think deep in my heart Carmelo,CB3, are coming- I just don’t know when….Oh and I think D’Antoni needs to hire an asst. Defense guy NOW!!! DECLARE!!

  • DaGawD_KnowLedge

    u mean cb4.
    lol

  • Funk

interesting..I remember comparing him to iverson, saying we should bring in AI and have Jennings learn under him. ughhhh, this whole knicks situation is killing me.

  • DaGawD_KnowLedge

    it’s sad man

donnie must be sitting his pants
    saying i hope lebron comes..

  • DaGawD_KnowLedge

an it’s not about frail or anything it’s about yours in ya heart an jennings is a slim dude with big heart..

  • itzyung1

Any chance the Bucks are dumb and they will trade us Brandon Jennings.

  • traps9

I’m 100% with you on Sessions.

  • DaGawD_KnowLedge

    lmao

it doesn’t hurt to try mayb curry an jeffries can get it done..lmao

  • ohboy109

it’s cause Dantoni, does not want players who don’t kiss ass. that’s why iverson and tinsley are not here…

To borrow a quote from the great Paulie Walnuts, “Welcome to the NBA, rookie!”
