JCharles I agree with you that Rudy Gay is a much better player than Lee. I would take him at that price. I just don't want anything to interfere with 2010. You think they would trade Gay for a Knick making similar money? Nate? Or any combo of guys with expiring deals? (AIverson, Gay, Stack MWilliams) And who would we send in return (expiring deals only)????

Alvino, you love coming up with trade scenarios. Can you build a hypothetical blockbuster between Grizz and Knicks without touching 2010 for either team?

If Tommy Dee is the Mayor of Knickville this would put you as deputy mayor, or at least commissioner of rec & parks.

What is MD doing here that is special? The dude didn't even want to come to the Knicks. He told the GM of the Bulls He doesn't want to come here, but he eventually did when the knicks raised the price. Of course he accepted the money, but it's the bad s#$% MD said to the Bulls Gm about the Knicks before he backstabbed him. What's so special about him? He told a future HOF in nash who could create in his dream to push the ball with Amare in the post, guys like Joe Johnson, Raja and Hill on the wings. Just look at the Marbury situation. Everyone wants to blame Steph, but look at that situation. MD just wanted to get at Steph like he did when he first became the Suns coach.

Agree, Manners. Lee does have some skill sets. How many power forwards in the league can dribble and create as smoothly as Lee? Think about it. Only if he could use that handle to beat more of his defenders will he get better. I have three things to say about Lee. 1)His defense is smart...at times. He doesn't do what other players whether NBA, Collegiate, Hs does and that's swat at everything. He knows how to put his hands up and move with his man. 2)But he needs to be more aggresive. He uses that "put his hands up and move with his man" too much instead just blocking shot or sending a message. I'm seeing too many sg and even pg bodying him to the basket. 3) He does get very lazy on the rotation...so does the rest of the Knicks. It's like when the opposition moves the ball on the perimeter the Knicks players ask each other secretly "are you going to run to him?" I mean it's common sense. You see the moving and a guy open, run from your man to the next guy. See, but I wonder if they know that, but just want to hustle...which I feel they do.

I''m not worried about whether or not Hill played great, once he played with confidence, which he did. Confidence goes a long way. He showed it in many of the games he played with the Knicks...like he wants to play, not that he's reluctant to play. When he dunked on the break and when the jumpers were falling against the Warriors it wasn't like "duh, I made some shots in the NBA?" It was more like "I scored, let me get back on defense." No one can't say they don't see him trying. Does he Look like rookie at times? Wouldn't you if you were in his shoes? But there's confidence..and as I said before, he will be good this year...if he gets some damn minutes.

Some good points there donnie walsh. I think Lee is a good player with interesting skills but I think his value is as high as it is going to get here with the Knicks and I think that if DW is smart that he will look into trading him for some good value (i.e. draft pick/picks and or good young players)

Blackwood,

Good ahead trade the expiring contracts. Let's see what we'll get back in return. Where are the smart fans? So you're saying Walsh is doing a bad job? Is he really? With 2010 next door? I'm not saying not to make a trade, I'm saying mix up the lineup and see what happens. Not bring in Hill, landry in the game with 2:00 to go in the 4th quarter...I mean put them in the fire. Bring in Hill with 9 minutes to go in the 1st quarter. Is that hard to ask? To give the young guy minutes to see how they mesh before trading anyone? What are you reading? I did say this team is lathergic, but not everyone. Martin, CP3, Gay, I would love to have them in a trade...the question is will those GM make that move? You don't know. It sounds easy right? That's what fantasy trading on espn.com can do to a man.

Walsh security team? Dude, just relax. Our time will come very soon either by the trade deadline or next offseason. Who know's we may get a Gay or Martin, but stop acting as though we didn't see millions of dollars or won't have other solid FA agents at our disposal not named LeBron and Dwayne in 2010. As I said previously, people may laugh now, but in thoday's sports that can change in a matter days and weeks. So what if don't a draft pick, big deal. We have a big positive in our side: the cap something, we should be proud of having. No one is protecting Walsh, but you think I'm going to give up a GM who turned a franchise in the Pacers to Eastern conference team, developing guys like Reggie and Smits. The world isn't going to come to an end if he doesn't make a trade. Calm down.

Chris I am sorry.. This is the second time this week that I take exception to something you've written. You wrote that Hill played good but not great. Huh!!!! Because he didn't play great that some how isn't good??. I know you didn't write it that way but that is the way I read it. Again.....you have to give rookies some time to develop. Even Garnett wasn't what he is now after 10 NBA games. Did you watch him at all play at Arizona?? There he was a inside presence who blocked shots, ran the floor, rebounded and dunked on many. But he wasn't that type of player his first 10 games into his college career.
Instead of always focusing on what a player can't do instead focus on what he can do at this young stage in his career.

Couple things wrong with that lineup.

Wilson Chandler is not a shooting guard, that experiment is over until further notice (maybe this coming offseason he can work on his guard skills).

Toney Douglas is not a point guard. Alston is old and his best years are behind him.

The Knicks will need to find a point guard and I think they may have painted themselves into a corner on that one by passing on Sessions and Jennings, because there's no one on the horizon who is available next year.
