Iverson Update

By Tommy Dee on Nov 17, 2009, 10:12 pm

Via Zagsblog from today’s practice:

“…GREENBURGH, N.Y. — Donnie Walsh’s cell phone rang in the middle of Knicks’ practice Tuesday, and the Knicks president stepped away from a large contingent of reporters to take the call.

Whether it was Allen Iverson or his agent on the other end we may never know.
But Walsh said the Knicks are “checking into” bringing the 10-time NBA All-Star to New York to help revive a team that is off to its worst start in franchise history (1-9) and threatening to spiral out of control.

“I’ve always had a lot of admiration for him because I had to play against him in the playoffs every year when I was in Indiana and I have a lot of respect for his career,” Walsh said after practice. “He’s a small man who did everything he could to win games and took a lot of hard knocks and always got up.” More.

Maybe the cell phone call was from out West??

Probably Tommy….Hopefully it was from N.Orleans for cp3…No too confident on Monta Ellis….Good player but having issues with a rookie out in the open doesn’t show a team player.

Not sure if A.I comes here by Mike D’s tone of building the young core up. If they don’t bring him here he can back-up what he says by starting T-Doug and Jordan Hill logging more minutes then Jared and Matador Lee pronto to show he means what he says!

Like Bill Parcells always says “you are what your record says you are”

DW’s phone rang and it made news (it was probably his wife or something)…that shows what type of excitement AI bring with him….you’ve got to give him credit for that lol

I’m really excited and I hope Allen comes. My only fear is that Allen is too talented for the cast around him, and that will cause him to feel as if he has to do it alone each night. Then the media and fans will turn around and say he’s ball hogging, and playing selfish. People have to understand Allen wants to win, and when he feels he has no one to trust around him, he goes into take over mode. He just wants to win, so I ask all the fans, please give the guy a shot and try to understand he just wants to play hard everynight, even if that’s putting the team on his back!

I’m almost 100% sure that, if the Knicks lose tonight again, in miserable fashion. Allen will be a knick by the weekend! I’m gonna guarantee that! I’m not with throwing a season away and letting people develop, and we have no first round pick this year. That would be completely stupid.
Im not saying the rooks should’nt start, but they should sign a go to guy, to go along with them. Let them develop and still be a bit more compettetive with Allen in the mix.

    Iverson
    Hughes
    Gallo
    Chandler
    Hill…….Fast Agile Starting 5
