TKB Radio Tonight @ 9 With Special Guest Eric Snow

by Chris Alvino on November 19th, 2009 at 7:25 pm

Listen live tonight as Anthony “Rice Balls” continues to stir the Allen Iverson pot.  With news of The Answer potentially making his way to Broadway, there is no better place to discuss him than on TKB Radio.

On that note, there is also no better person to discuss Iverson with than his former backcourt mate and former NBA point guard, Eric Snow.  As many of you probably know, Snow served as a key cog in the Sixers’ backcourt that lost to the Lakers in the NBA finals.  While Iverson was always in the spotlight, I always felt like Snow was the glue that kept that team going.  He was a true leader and a fierce competitor for that team.  An analyst on NBA TV, I feel as though Eric Snow can make a good coach someday.  What is also interesting is that many Knicks fans hoped that incumbent point guard Chris Duhon could have a similar impact on the Knicks that Snow had on the Sixers.  I am curious to hear Snow’s impressions on the Knicks problems in the backcourt.

Eric Snow has also authored a book entitled, “LEADING HIGH PERFORMERS: The Ultimate Guide to Being a Fast, Fluid and Flexible Leader”.  Look for it on shelves in the near future.  If you remember Snow as a player, then you should have no problem understanding that he knows what it takes to be a leader, both on and off the hardwood.

Iverson, Snow, Rice Balls, and most importantly, you the callers later tonight at 9.  Don’t miss it.

The more and more I think about Hill over Jennings the more and more I get sick to my stomach. Everyone knew Jordan Hill wasn’t ready right away. I think a day after he was drafted we were already talking about his need to get his legs in shape. Get his legs in shape? We’re trying to get the basketball player on the planet to play for this team. We need players—immediately, not the cautious promise of players in the future. And we don’t need three power forwards. we need ONE point guard. Unbelievable

  • Qaspec

I thought all the Lebron talk would get tiresome over the course of the year but seeing the same exact Hill over Jennings comment on this board 200,000,000 times is getting ridiculous. If you have to bring up Jennings (who isn’t even on the Knicks) can you please do it from another angle that we haven’t read on the blog over and over again? It’s like beating a dead horse, then kicking it, burning it with a flame thrower, beating it some more and then slamming it to the ground, making fun of the horse and finally stomping on it, bringing it back to life, only to beat it to death again and then stomping on wearing Steel Tipped Boots for good measure. I’m starting to feel like Mugatu in Zoolander. Except instead of the same face!…it’s the same post!

  • bartnyk

    Agreed!!!

  • donnie walsh

I’d rather talk about players on other teams instead of the clowns on the knicks

  • donnie walsh

The fact is when lebron decides where he wants to play next year Jordan Hill will play absolutely no role in his decision. And this is something the knicks knew, they knew he was a project. He is irrelevent in regards to lebron’s decision, Brandon jennings would not be.

  • gbaked

i would rather you go away.

  • donnie walsh

    D-Lee? is that you?

  • Section 40

I don’t remember a big campaign before the draft by any of the posters on this blog for Jennings. Everyone wanted Rubio, Curry, Flynn or even Lawson.

Let’s face it, no one could have predicted Jennings would play this well so soon. He would have been drafted #1 or #2. You have to get over it.

To be fair, I don’t think anyone here really wanted Jordan Hill either.

  • Showstopper232

LEBRON RAYMONE JAMES will not leave his home town where he is god-like and has gotten to the finals twice.. and with a few changes will probably get there and even win… to come to the lowly NY knicks just because we might have a lot of $$ when he is free, we are a sub .500 team with no playoffs in sight. i dont see why any “1A” free agents would even think about coming here besides some of MD’s old players, i dont see why we hired MD in the first place, just playing offense won’t get you any where but a bunch of wins, the most opponent points allowed, and losses in the first maybe second round if we get the nets in the first round. i say we hit the trading floor, and trade for some players that can play the SSOL style, since were stuck with this Mike D’antoni guy for 2 more seasons, get some picks AND PICK HELP NOW KIND OF PLAYERS! just my thoughts!

  • donnie walsh

The cavs are a 35 win team without Lebron.

I would argue tha any team he is on is guaranteed a 25 win improvement, hes that good

  • donnie walsh

Im not a person who pushed for Jennings, I’ve admitted that repeatedly. I’m also not a person getting paid to draft the best player available.

I don’t understand the hesistance to Donnie accountable for draft picks. Its a part of his job.

  • Bob

let me relay this story hat happened tonight while i was at work.it was about 6:00pm,(i am a bartender in the bronx,in a nice steakhouse)i was talking to 2 guys at the bar, about allen iverson coming to the knicks, when a third guy walked in,i dont know his name or the other 2 for that matter, but he came over ,asked for a scotch on the rocks, and when he heard what we were talking about ,he said”i just left a friend of mine ,who is a lawyer for the NBA,and he told me there is no way the knicks are getting iverson” he said he had inside info, and that the knicks decided not to persue him.now being i dont know this guy,and never before had i seen him,im not saying what he said was true ,im just telling you what happened ,.THATS IT

  • DaGawD_KnowLedge

na i think that was hill or duhon..

  • DaGawD_KnowLedge

if the knicks don’t sign iverson 2morow they will not sign him
an i’ll be rite again about them just making news for them selves
making it seem like they doing there job..

Iverson talks in holding pattern »

    By Frank Isola

Allen Iverson isn’t coming to the Knicks…at least for tonight that is.

A person close to the talks between Iverson and the Knicks said that the club may wait until after this weekend’s game against New Jersey and Boston before making a move.

In the hours prior to Iverson clearing waivers last night, Donnie Walsh hinted that it was unlikely that the Knicks would sign the free agent guard before Friday.

Could it be as simple as this: lose to the 0-12 Nets and Iverson joins the Knicks. Win and perhaps the Knicks hold off on signing him. It may sound crazy but there is a general feeling around the team that if the record was 4-7 and not 2-9 the Knicks wouldn’t even be discussing Iverson.

  • DVJ

I don’t see the Knicks signing him either. He’s probably using us for more $ from Miami. Can’t blame him for getting his paper.

  • desh9583

Guys, Lebron has no ties to Cleveland, maybe Ohio and Akron but whats keeping him there. I know money speaks volume but LeBron makes way more in endorsements and other things off the court than on court. So it does not matter that Cleveland can offer him the most money. Like the other poster said, the Cavs are a 30-35 win team without LeBron. The Knicks have a better core of young guys and if they can get Curry healthy enough and ship him out they might be able to bring LeBron here and another guy of his choosing to build the team around. Lets be serious, King James has said that he wants to be the first Billion Dollar athlete and that he wants to win. He might be able to win in Cleveland, Ohio but he wont become a billion dollar athlete there. Think about his legacy if he comes to the NYK. He rebuilds a once proud franchise and puts it back on the map. He wins here he will be Michael Jackson, the Pope and Barack Obama in one!!

  • Bob

YOU SAY THIS AS IF IT WERE NEWS

  • DVJ

What’s wrong with this line up?
    PG: Iverson
    SG: Hughes
    SF: Gallo
    PF: Lee
    C: Curry

Obviously Lee and Curry would lack on D but I’d like to see this starting line up just to see how it would workout.

  • Bob

ITS A LINE-UP THATS FULL OF KNICKS(thats whats wrong with it)

  • JASONHAYES

LMAO, Bob I feel your frustration. I no longer have any respect for most of them anyway. And If you haven’t heard Gallo’s back is stiffening up again, that guy will never be a major factor in this league. With Gallo and Chandler suppose to be the new guns of the Knicks, it sure is crumbling fast! Gallo’s back is acting up again, and Wilson Chandler’s game is regressing. Clearly is time for a change of direction. Is Donnie waiting for the Knicks to be 2-11, before doing something? Its time for a major change in direction, as long as it doesnt compromise 2010.

  • JASONHAYES

People say Iverson is gonna take most of the shots and hinder the growth of the rooks. But so is Monta Ellis, Lebron, and D.Wade. So, why not train these guys to be what they’re gonna be in the near future…..ROLE PLAYERS! That is what they are. If you took everyone off the Knicks and put them on other decent teams, not one would start. Not even Coward Lee. Not one player on our current roster is a difference maker, and most likely never will be.

  • NoVaCaInE

I’m curious to hear Steph’s reaction lol. I know it’s coming. Would not be surprised to see him at the 1st game A.I. suits up.

  • jaknicksfan

This is Getting Very Tiring. Jennings isn’t a Knickan Jorddan Hill is Get Over it Already! Give Hill a Chance to Develop before you Tear Him Apart. He hasn’t had a shot yet. Lee is Gonna be Gone, Jeffries, Harrington and Probably Curry So we are going to need Big Men and he Has Promise to be a Good one.

  • jaknicksfan

Sorry About the spelling. I was Driving and Typing.

  • jaknicksfan

Chandler Finally had a good game the other night. We have to remember that he Had Ankle surgery and didn’t get to really work on his game in the offseason so hopefully this is the beginning of him playing like he did last year. As Far as anyone else besides Hill and Douglas trade them all and Get 2 Max players next season!

  • blackwood

    Morning guys……http://www.realgm.com/src_wiretap_archives/62897/20091120/chance_of_knicks_signing_iverson_in_high_90s/

I see people are starting to snap out of there silly Gallo & donnie love affair lol.

But I am getting sick of people not wanting to see that when people bring up Jennings over & over it is not a shot at Hill it is holding donnies feet to the fire!! The old guy cant pick new talent anymore!! He is good at running the day to day operations but he is not a real GM anymore!! He is busy looking for the next “Bob cousy” lol The guy is washed up when it comes to talent evaluation!!

Two blow drafts where are team could be in much better shape falls on donnies shoulders!! So once again stop trying to make it sound like a Hill bashing when it really is fans demanding a better performance from there GM who has made 2 major screw ups 2 years in a row that has really set us back!!

  • blackwood

forgive my typeo”s im multi-tasking lol

  • JASONHAYES

As much as I would love to think that, history has shown me otherwise. INCONSISTENCY is in all of these players blood. There isnt a wiin, that I believe in anymore. They will lose to the Nets, but beat the Celtics. Or Vice Versa.

  • bmathews77

I’m sure Marbury will be at Iverson’s first game sitting in the 3rd row eating vaseline and recording another one of his boneheaded internet video’s.

  • itzyung1

I don’t get it either. Is complaining about it going to make the Bucks give him to us?

  • bmathews77

I agree. There’s a reason Jennings slipped to 10 to the Bucks…I still don’t have any regrets about the Knicks not taking Jennings. The way he was acting prior to the draft gave the Knicks no reason to want to draft him. He was showing attitude problems and he even skipped a showcase for scouts that Knick scouts attended.

  • JASONHAYES

But you know what Blackwood. Most of the people on here were against bringing in Jennings as well. People were saying the same things they are saying now about Iverson, when it came to jennings.

    2009-06-12 17:36:53
I see what you’re saying about Jennings. It sounds like he has a one-on-one attitude with comments like that, which is not what I want from my PG. It’ll be interesting to see how this plays out.

    2009-06-13 09:54:46
so if rubio, who got more playing time than jennings at a younger age in the same league is over hyped, does that mean that jennings just plain sucks?

i’m confused at his logic, which is not surprising actually.

    2009-06-13 13:02:14
Amare is a proven all star in the NBA jennings is not. And I agree 100% Tommy Dee, jennings personality rubs we the wrong way. Even though his talent ranks him abouve flynn. Id much rather have Flynn.
Agree with Mucha on the curry comment. But i do not want evans or jennings.

I with held the Identities of these comments, but they know who they are. And now they are calling for Donnie’s head.

  • Peso

Mike D prolly wants to see if A.I will go to practice for at least a month to learn his system :-)

If Curry is that beast the next few games…I am not sure Walsh goes the A.I rout and he will go to the Laker’s…and win his ring…lol

  • bmathews77

If Curry is a beast, Walsh needs to hurry up and trade him. We’ve seen these Eddy Curry comebacks way too often and it leads to the same thing….either its inconsistency or he gets injured again. No need to get excited about Eddy Curry. The man has no pride or heart.

  • DanL

Seriously. GET THE HELL OVER IT ALREADY!

  • DanL

Maybe you all should start a Jennings man crush blog.

  • DanL

I agree. If you Jennings guys start a Jennings blog you can spend all wishing and complaining over there and allow the comments here to actually relate to the topic of the blog.

  • blackwood

Great points Jasonhayes! Did you see the link i put up yesterday from espn where they have a whole section of there site revolving around Jennings? I am not sure who was the person who said “I dont want Evens or Jennings”
did you pull that from donnie walsh blackberry? lol you can tell by the tone of what there saying that they where personal dislikes not real basketball based thoughts! But “COLOR” the hate any shade you like the fact is Jennings was everything we needed and donnie blew so let the haters hate because thats how you know those there hating on are really doing well!!

Changing gears for a sec…I never bothered to go look at the Marbury videos but OMG!! As funny as it may be at first I was a big fan of his since high school (im not afraid to admit that!!) I just hope he is ok and just bugging for the fun of it but from the way is pupils look and how strange what he is doing is I just hope people around him are not F’ing his life up!! He may not have been everything we wanted as a PG but no person deserves to be screwed up by so called friends & I hope he dont pull a Whitney Houston!! Its just a shame to see talent wasted. Get better Steph “God Bless”
