Iverson Update

Hahn is reporting that AI talks have stalled. The team will not offer the guard a contract. TKB reported yesterday that Walsh, Wednesday, was not for the move.

3:30- TKB confirms the Heat are real players in the Iverson sweepstakes and another 3rd team has jumped into the mix according to a source. The source close to the situation also told me that Walsh was dead against the move yesterday but D’antoni insisted and Walsh has apparently sided with his coach.

“Yesterday they weren’t signing him,” the source told me. “But now it seems evident because D’Antoni insisted.”

They do need to make a roster move, unless Walsh feels that he can’t afford to miss out and let another team jump in.

This makes sense because of how Walsh has felt he has put his coach in a tought spot this season.

On another note another source has told TKB that Monta Ellis met with the Warriors today and that “nothing came out” of the meeting. Stay tuned…

2:00 PM:
Nothing imminent tonight

Via Alan Hahn’s twitter:

“…Knicks may need to move a player simultaneously with bringing in Iverson- Duhon, for instance- which is why this may take a few days…

Via Zags who was at practice:

    Good news, I guess.

  • bmathews77

Don’t know what they’ll do within the next few days but I think Cuttino Mobley’s contract is fully covered by insurance come December and I’m sure come midway into the season they’ll want to trade Larry Hughes remainder of his contract. And if Curry stays healthy and shows somewhat of a low post game we can attempt to trade him – cross your fingers for that one though.

  • DVJ

What could we possibly expect to get for Duhon?
That shouldn’t stop us from signing Iverson. Sign him than work on the trade.
It would be wise to get him in ASAP. We have some great teams coming up on the schedule like the Lakers, Celtics and Nuggets. This week could be worse than last years Dream Week.

  • Not Hawthorne Wingo

Duhon for a 2nd rounder, in a heartbeat. Hell, if the knicks get enough 2nd rounders they gotta be able to find a decent role player… right?

  • pleasepleaseplease

Hughes had a terrible preseason but since then he seems like the only vet on this roster who is actually looking to pass the ball AND is able to do so.

Right now he is way down on my list of players that need to to leave.

  • barnaby8787

I think Duhon to OKC for a 2nd would be a great deal for both teams. We get an early second rounder (top 10 in the second round) considering OKC is sub-par at best. They get Duhon who could provide “quality” (in quotes on purpose) minutes behind westbrook because after getting rid of earl watson, they were left with kevin ollie to backup. Even though Duhon can’t shoot at the moment, when he gets his game back (assuming he does), he’ll be an upgrade to a 36 (almost 37) year old ollie who is bring 3 points and 1 assist per game in 15 minutes.

  • pleasepleaseplease

+ he plays defense. Which makes him a rare exception on this roster.

  • Magik_Trick

Duhon doesnt even need to be in the rotation if you ask me…
Iverson and Douglas start, Nate & Hughes pick up for them at bench time

    Start:
    Iverson
    Douglas
    Gallo
    Lee/Hill
    Curry

and another note…Lee and Curry complement each other very well….play them together!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! were too small out there….

  • bartnyk

Nate – can’t get traded YET

Duhon – They may want to use A.I. off the ball if not hes a GONER!!

    TD – not going anywhere

Hughes – hes been decent this year

When we bring in A.I. Douglas hits the bench and Duhon gets less mins I dont think we have to trade anyone right now.

  • Bob

no team is gonna give up a 2nd round pick for duhon

  • jay from the fix

I say sign Ai we cant be much worse lol. Someone ask in the previous thread (blackwood i think) about expanding to a three way trade which is very difficult to do. But i say what if ( the numbers work) GS get Eddy Curry, mobley, Hill, Q rich trade exception. New Orleans gets: Monte Ellis, A. Randolph, Brandon Wright, Wilson Chandler NYK gets: Chris Paul, Peja Stojakvic(sp) and Ronnie Turiaf.

Would anyone else do this trade? i know it wont happen im just answering a question lol

  • bartnyk

We would have a 9/10 man rotation

    Iverson
    Hughes
    Wilson
    Lee
    Curry

    bench

    Duhon
    Nate
    Gallo
    Harrington

I would make a trade if one was out there but I dont think we need to to bring in Iverson. I’m almost sure Duhon’s value goes up when he comes off the bench.

  • nyknicks19

bring in iverson yea, but every player in our rotation besides duhon is shoot first…we don’t have players who know that they are role players and we desperately need some hustle players

  • DaGawD_KnowLedge

u can get a door mat for duhon

  • Not Hawthorne Wingo

You might be right though I love the OKC scenario (hat tip barnaby). The big reason you might be right is 2nd rounders are worth a little more than where you draft since the contracts aren’t guaranteed. If a team can find a good role player in the second round, they can sign him for a few years at a low amount and it’s good capology. None the less, I’m hoping because when balancing the risk of getting a 1st rounder wrong vs your chances of getting one of 3 2nd rounders right, I gotta figure you do better with the latter option (assuming the 1st rounder isn’t too high).

  • Peso

I wonder if they are working a Duhon going to Orlando for a 2nd rounder….

  • bartnyk

Does Miami and Charlotte have Mid level exceptions??

    I know we do!!

  • BiggieSmalls

you’d give him almost 6 mil for the year?

thats crazy. 1.3 is the price. or he can go somewhere else.

  • jgilch82

if anyone has read my posts they know i drink the Galo cool aid in gallons ..
however, with these “stamina” issues …. i would put him back on the bench for now ….. again, for now

  • JASONHAYES

Why the hell would the Knicks wait a few days to sign him, when he is needed now? Sign him tonight, have a walkthrough practice with him, and get him ready. We need him for the next upcoming games. Nets on Saturday, Boston on Sunday, and Lakers on Tuesday. Sign him now, there nothing to think about Donnie!

  • paulempson

AI anywhere else stands the chance of having the same fate , coming off the bench. NY is a sure fire place where he wont have to worry bout being in that situation. Its evident that we need major help in the PG position.

AI must realize that after stints in Detroit and Memphis. Go to Miami and , if that doesnt work, again be put in the same position. Wade needs the ball . AI needs the ball. I dont see that working out from AI’s perspective

Plus, AI coming to the garden will be more appealing to all involved. Playing in NY might light a fire and this hall of famer can carry this team and possibly change the whole make up of the team.

He can easily drop 8 dimes a game. Possibly more

Mike D being all on board seems like a great sign and dont think AI wont look at what Mike’s system did for Nash. Could have the same effect. He is a gifted passer. Many overlook that fact. Plus he did not go public whilst on the team in Detroit , nor did he really in Memphis. Like he said , “if we were winning , I might understand but the team is losing ” Great point.

Add endorsements from Brown ( like him or not ) and Karl , I say he ends up a Knick.

Who is the 3rd team ?

I was all for this move a few months ago. He is no Marbury. Porter lied to him a fact that was backed up by Hamilton. Memphis knew all to well that he was not interested in coming offf the bench. Why sign him then?? We all know that was a dumb move considering they had OJ and Co…

Id say Duhon gets moved which allows Douglas to get PT. A must

    Fingers crossed folks

  • bartnyk

They gave Duhon the full exception and hes gonna take his spot.

  • pleasepleaseplease

I guess if you you’re not used to heavy hallucinogens, something like this might actually appear to be possible.

  • DaGawD_KnowLedge

    u mean curry
i read all the stories they lied to him in detroit even
    rip said it
he also said every1 loved Ai on the pistons..

an they never really discussed his position in memphis
nor did he get a chance to compete for a starting spot in training camp.due to injury i think..

Ai on the knicks is a no brainer
an i hope they tell him his position b4 it’s all goes sour..

  • BiggieSmalls

and this team is good about repeating mistakes

  • DaGawD_KnowLedge

na what i heard was duhon for a floor cleaner..

  • pleasepleaseplease

“Mike D being all on board seems like a great sign and dont think AI wont look at what Mike’s system did for Nash.”

If only there were the slightest hint that Mike’s Knicks were playing some sort of ‘system’. Don’t look, don’t think, just shoot and pray.

  • ds2488

Last night the Knicks looked a lot crisper than usual and it did seem they were actually running Dantoni’s system but up until this point they have not. Although its impossible to run his system with a pg as bad as Duhon is. Lets get AI in and I know he can play better than Duhon, which is hopefully the direction Dantoni will go in.

  • JASONHAYES

15 more minutes, COME ON DONNIE, PULL THE TRIGGER!

  • bartnyk

How is it a mistake its a 1 yr deal and its only if Miami/team 2 wants to put up a fight.

  • DVJ

Just glimpsed at the ticker on ESPN and it said the Knicks probably won’t make an offer until after the weekend.

  • Section 40

We are not going to be able to trade Eddy Curry and Hill for Chris Paul…there are 28 other teams in the league that can beat that package…more if you include D league teams lol

  • DaGawD_KnowLedge

u know what the knicks are doing just making news
they aint even thinking bout Ai

waiting for this weekend is like saying we just doing our job ok
    u want news we’ll give u news.

  • Section 40

Doesn’t it seem strange that no one wanted iverson all summer, but now multiple teams want him? All he did was play one game, complain about his minutes and get bought out. Does anyone understand this?

All the risks with an iverson signing actually happened to Memphis. They even happened sooner than most people expected. Now everyone wants him? I don’t get it. Why do they think he will change now?

My prediction is that we offer him a contract and he turns us down…like everyone else did this summer. **sigh**

  • Funk

Iverson has been signed to the knicks! I’m here at MSG now and that is the word floating around. Supposedly for a little over $1m, assuming its veterans minimum but I have been told that he is now a Knickerbocker!

  • blackwood
  • Showstopper232

I want Monta…. lets make that happen!!

  • Funk

well we got iverson! hopefully he can revive his career and NY

  • nyknicks19

can we get some confirmation on this???? anybody???????????

  • nyknicks19

    ^^source?

  • DaGawD_KnowLedge

that guy is messing with yall

  • Funk

im here at MSG working the coaches vs cancer benefit. ushers and other workers around the building have said that we signed him. many of them unhappy about it. not me =)

  • thebossandbenji76

    BREAKING NEWS!!!

Allen Iverson has told associates he is prepared to come to the New York Knicks.

“We wouldn’t be considering it if we thought we were functioning well and we’re not,” Walsh said of the Knicks, who went into last night’s game against the Pacers with a 1-9 record. “And I want to make sure if we do something like this it’s the right thing to do.”

Walsh said if the Knicks do offer Iverson a contract it will likely be for the $1.4 million veteran’s minimum.

    Via Newsday

  • itzyung1

All Im saying is I want A.I. on The Knicks completely but we should really look at Monta Ellis and Courtney Lee before we move to Allen.

  • Chris Alvino

How about this deal if Iverson signs here:

    http://games.espn.go.com/nba/tradeMachine

Throw in one of our second round picks to Washington. Wizards add only about 2.5 mill for next year. Knicks lose Jeffries. Magic get backcourt help.

  • Funk

its on espn.com now that he cleared waivers. news of signing should soon follow..

  • Funk
  • DaGawD_KnowLedge

    yup that’s a big possibility

  • bockersORbriefs

Hey Chris, I’m only seeing the trade machine template when I click the link. Can you spell out you full proposed trade please?

  • Section 40

I don’t think the ushers at the garden have inside information

I hope it’s true, but that’s not a good source

  • bockersORbriefs

Yeah Blackwood, this piece makes you shiver … especially when Chris Broussard , an ESPN reporter, saw Jennings play in Italy … while DW “didn’t have a feel” for him. So the result is the Bucks will have the ROY … and Donnie gets the EOY … Exec of the Year ? uh, no the ERROR of the Year !

PS, I won’t say ERROR of the Decade since we’ll probably be trying to get BJ3 as a FA by 2013 or so ….. when A I is our GM !

  • Funk

take it for what it is. I’m trying to let everybody on here know what I’m hearing at MSG. I will try to talk to more people around the building to see what they are hearing.

    @DaGawD_KnowLedge

I wouldn’t mess with anybody on here. Like I said above, I’m just relaying what I’m hearing from MSG. Not everybody has an opportunity to be on the floor and behind the scenes here at the garden. I just figured other fans would wanna hear what I’m hearing.

  • Chris Alvino

    Oh, sorry about that.

    My deal was:

Wash gets Jeffries and one of our two second round picks this year

Orlando gets Duhon and Deshawn Stevenson

Knicks get Anthony Johnson, JJ Redick, and Javale McGee.

  • BiggieSmalls

it has to be cheap enough that Donnie can cut him the fisrt time he screws up.

Donnie has enough trouble biting the bullet and buying out contracts.

The Grizz only gave him 3 something mil.. WHy would anyone go more than that after he was sent home after 3 games??

  • itzyung1

If this or the Monta Ellis trade Tommy posted can get to Donnie Walsh somehow who thinks he would do it?

  • DaGawD_KnowLedge

that’s a trade that can only happen in a dream

  • DaGawD_KnowLedge

    no prob FUNK

  • BiggieSmalls

    fyi –
trade exceptions cannot be part of larger deals. has to be one for one.

  • BiggieSmalls

he wont go to practice.. its practice.. we talking about practice… not a game.. not a game.. but PRACTICE!!

  • BiggieSmalls

ask the guys cleaning the bathrooms.. they may know.

    no shots.

  • Chris Alvino

Haha… why? What is so awful about it? the only questionable part is McGee coming to NY. Perhaps that is not too realistic, but otherwise I think it is fair all around.

  • BiggieSmalls

Orlando is taking in 3.5 mil too much salary.

washington is giving up Javele McGee and Stephenson for Jeffries? Ironically, they signed Stephenson instead of JJ a few years back.

But us getting back McGee for Duhon and JJ and a 2nd rounder is too much to ask.

  • Chris Alvino

I would imagine that Jeffries is more valuable than Deshawn Stevenson. So Jeffries and 2nd rounder for Stevenson and and McGee (who is out of the rotation in Wash) is the sacrifice for the Wizards.

As for the Magic, it works because of their trade exception (I think). They have a huge exception from signing and trading Hedo to the Raptors.

  • bockersORbriefs

McGee is yet another guy who might wind up as a better NBA pro than Gallo … don’t see why Wiz would give up on him at this point ..he’s got alot of skils & is madd atheletic ..

Iverson talks in holding pattern »

    By Frank Isola

Allen Iverson isn’t coming to the Knicks…at least for tonight that is.

A person close to the talks between Iverson and the Knicks said that the club may wait until after this weekend’s game against New Jersey and Boston before making a move.

In the hours prior to Iverson clearing waivers last night, Donnie Walsh hinted that it was unlikely that the Knicks would sign the free agent guard before Friday.

Could it be as simple as this: lose to the 0-12 Nets and Iverson joins the Knicks. Win and perhaps the Knicks hold off on signing him. It may sound crazy but there is a general feeling around the team that if the record was 4-7 and not 2-9 the Knicks wouldn’t even be discussing Iverson.

  • Dylan

I don’t see any reason why the Knicks would pass on him. Duhon is beyond terrible at point guard, and even if AI didn’t help all that much, he would at least make the Knicks watchable. The Knicks just dont give a #$&* about their fans!! AI wouldn’t hurt the 2010 plan so I see no good explanation for not signing him. What a pathetic organization. There is a reason the Knicks are the laughing stock of the NBA!

  • traps9

Alan Hahn reporting McGrady/Adelman rift on 1050ESPN Tierney’s show as a possiblility since NYK will not sign Iverson.

  • bmathews77

The Knicks probably don’t want to appear to desperate to sign Iverson so Walsh is probably being a little patient about signing him. I really don’t see any reason to sign Iverson at this point because the entire Knick roster are all role players. At least Iverson can give them some credibility.

  • itzyung1

Hopefully that or Monta Ellis is packing his bags for New York.

  • BiggieSmalls

    make. it. stop.

  • traps9

Absolutely; either one for me because I think either would require Curry. (Maybe not, but, God, I hope I’m right)

  • traps9

I think you’re gonna get your wish Biggie

  • Its The Kid

Becomes more and more apparent this team doesnt care about winning and is more enamored with staying relevant in the media… How could it take you days to decide on A.I… What changed about him in the last 3 days that you didnt know in the last 13years… Unbelievable… This front office is a joke right now, dont play with the emotions of New Yorkers… They acted like they were looking into the A.I situation to appease fans… Because when you’re 2-9 you have to act like you care…

  • jho
  • jho

Well Iverson isn’t coming. I was finally open to the idea of him coming, but I guess now it’s not going to happen.

Now if we can just make Douglas the starting pg …

  • JASONHAYES

I’m really upset, mainly for the fact that they continue to get our hopes up with something and then break your spirit. Time and time again! I can no longer trust their “WORD”. And thats something a man should never break. I can only hope their doing this because they are monitoring the Tracy Mcgrady situation. I really hate everyone on this current Knicks roster. Except for Toney Douglas!

  • bmathews77

Now that we know Iverson is not coming to the Knicks, how about we turn our attention to what is going on in Houston? Tmac is apparently really upset with the Rockets. Why not try to trade for him since his contract is over after this season.

Eddy Curry and Larry Hughes for Tracy Mcgrady?

  • DatNewYorker

LOL and a NYK paper weight

  • da0213

Honestly, if they don’t sign AI (or McGrady, whoever…), I’ll consider that a huge slap in the face from the organization.

  • NoVaCaInE

Douglas is not a starting PG…

  • NoVaCaInE

Some of you guys don’t seem to understand it’s all about 2010. Management have already proven with the slop put together over the past year they could care less about this season. If you can’t take the rebuild then don’t watch the games.

  • Mucha

    Whatever.

  • NoVaCaInE

That the best you can do?

  • NoVaCaInE

    *That’s

  • Chris Alvino

I’m baffled…. I have no answers to this…. I am not sure what the downside to bringing him here is? Disruption in the locker room? This team is only 2-9… They are the “rent-a-knicks”. What difference does the chemistry in the locker room make if the team is a) not good, and b) not here for the future. I am shocked. Iverson appears to be a gift. If this team remains the same stale group, then I am not sure how long fans will put up with them this season. Weird…

  • JASONHAYES

Im no longer putting up with these bunch of losers! I guarantee this will come back to haunt them, every move or lack there of, always comes back to bite the MISERABLE KNICKS!

  • BiggieSmalls

    ITS. OVER.

Move along .. nothing to see here.

  • DaGawD_KnowLedge

man the onlything on the knicks mind is 2010
this is even more evident now

they not going to add no player or payroll to the cap even it’s a 1 year.

i told u they were just pretending they were interested in Ai make the fans feel like they working when they just on there ass waiting for 2010=bosh an joe J

    thanks donnie an danni boy
gotta be the worse combination of alltime..

  • JASONHAYES

There tanking the season to get a high second round pick……….this is genius why didnt anyone see this!

  • bartnyk

Still making decisions on “reputation” I see, same reason they passed on Jennings your suppose to learn from your mistakes.

  • DaGawD_KnowLedge

i think the jazz giving them some side money

  • DaGawD_KnowLedge

it’s dolan danni boy an donnie

    the triple D d**kheads

  • Wheres The D

    Guys,

To all those who do not recognize it…this is what re-building looks like. I applaud Walsh for passing on AI. This team has to focus on developing the young players that are going to be here the next few years. Walsh is doing what Layden and Isaiah failed to do before him, properly re-build. Now this is not an endorsement on the draft picks he made as a foundation to this rebuilding, but that is neither here nor there. We will not know how Gallo and Hill turn out for at least another two years. Look at Danny Granger (another Walsh pick) – it took him 3 years to start to make his mark as a player. Give these rookies some time. In Donnie I trust, if only because he is doing the right think by tearing this team down and building it back up.

  • DaGawD_KnowLedge

when u go by he say she say u will never make ya team better u gotta findout for yaself what a player is about-gotta take risks sometimes or get better scouts an right ear men

an thats what the donnie been doing since he got here
who told him to sign Duhon?
then draft the young kid with back prob?
    then hill?

an then he’s so call calling around the league to findout about Ai
i guess he hasn’t seen what iverson does on the court…

  • JASONHAYES

Damn right Bart! Marbury has this organization scared to take chances now. Garden needs to call for DOLAN’S HEAD!

  • JASONHAYES

Or maybe through some miracle the Jazz plan on giving them back the pick……….yea right!

  • DaGawD_KnowLedge

    lmao

when i see the young players gettin much minutes
or starting then i’ll side with your comment

i guess your on the knick payroll also..

  • DaGawD_KnowLedge

that sounds like alice in wonderland.lol

  • JASONHAYES

Develop players that will be role players anyway? Except TD23!

  • Wheres The D

    DaGawd,

D’Antoni told him to sign Duhon and D’Antoni told him to draft Gallo and he probably ok’d the Hill pick after Curry and Rubio were gone. Walsh is getting is coach the players that the coach wants. Now the coach as to make it work. Walsh has got a nice selecting of accesories for D’Antoni, now he is setting up the team to get its centerpiece player or two out of:

    LeBron
    Wade
    Bosh
    Amare
    Boozer
    Joe Johnson
    Nowitski
    etc.

Guys try and be patient until at least the beginning of next season to see the final version of Walsh’s masterpiece. If it turns out as a disaster then I will join you in bashing the front office, but until then I will watch as the rookies develop before our eyes.

  • DaGawD_KnowLedge

    yup
DOUG is the only good pick so far for donnie

if they make him the go to guy i bet we can win more game with that rookie..

a f**ked with thing is that the things don’t really have no building blocks
all they have is cap waiting to over pay bosh an joe J

  • DaGawD_KnowLedge

    2010 is the biggest gamble

    it’s sad
especially if he comes out with bosh an joe J

  • Wheres The D

No I am not on the Knick payroll by any means (wish I were), but I am a realist and I understand what Walsh is doing here. After having lived through the Layden and Thomas eras where band-aids were replaced with more band-aids, what Walsh is doing is what this franchise has needed to do since Ewing’s decline (always thought they should have let Ewing walk by the way) – that is re-build this franchise from the ground up.

  • DaGawD_KnowLedge

amare is done i would of took the amare of his first 3 years in the league i would sign without a doubt

amare is an ok player now
    dirk gettin past his prime

  • DaGawD_KnowLedge

    walsh master piece..

the dude can’t even draft the rite players..

  • Wheres The D

Chris Bosh and Joe Johnson are 10x better players than anyone we have on the roster right now – hell they are better than anyone we have had on the roster over the last 5 years. If we can get these two guys (even if its the worst case scenario of Walsh’s plans), I will be happy.

Keep in mind though that its not only about the free agents, having and keeping proper cap space also allows you to trade for star players either next offseason or when Jeffies and/or Curry’s contarcts expire after next season (I believe Walsh will only be able to move one of them this year anyway, so the 2011 offseason is just as important as 2010).

  • DaGawD_KnowLedge

yes he does have a plan 2010 i’m not knocking him on that
but for the mean time u gotta make moves for the fans

an all he has been doin is saying f**k the fan until 2010
then he goes an signs bosh an joe J an i laugh an laugh again

  • Chris Alvino

I’m baffled on this still…. I am going to try and sit on this before making a more formal post later…. right now though, i am lost

  • Wheres The D

Right now it looks like he may not have drafted the right players, but hold off on that judgement for another year or two. It is this type of thinking from a fan base that cause GM’s like Thomas and Layden to go for the quick fix, the same quick fix that cost us our 1st round pick this year and put us in the hole we are in now.

  • CircleLimit4

Under normal circumstances I wouldn’t agree with adding AI, but I think our roster needs a serious talent boost. Even at 34, you don’t find mid-season FAs like AI all the time Walsh said the decision had nothing to do with Iverson himself. If this is the case, I hope DW is working on a better option rather than just sitting on his hands yet again.

2010 could be his grand redemption, but my patience with DW is thinning. I wanna see the ace he supposedly has up his sleeve.

  • Jay2010

This is a stupid move passing on A.I. How can they pass on a future Hall of Famer and proven scorer when no one on this team is consistent?! Nate was averaging 17 a game last year and yes he’s been injured, but he’s been non-existent in the games he’s played. Don’t even get me started on Gallo. He’s had 3 good games and the teams have figured out he has no game beyond the 3 point line and have been defending him well. Plus he’s been running up and down the court like he’s 50 yrs old lately. Duhon and Jeffries should not see any minutes. It just seems the organization doesn’t care about this season at all and keep looking toward 2010. My thing is give the fans a little excitement bringing in A.I and all the players are behind it. Why not do it? Then keep working on trading Curry and Jeffries. Makes no sense. Can bringing AI make things any worse then they already are? No, so there is no excuse not to at least offer him a contract. Stupidity.

  • ds2488

Chris, this definitely needs a long formal post. I am absolutely shocked they did not go for this, as I thought it was a good low risk chance to basically turn Duhon into Iverson. Just stunning and I am with you Circle, I will wait until 2010 to really bash Walsh if nothing works, but I am losing patience. I hope he is working on something else. Also, for all those people bashing DW on the off chance he ends up with just Joe Johnson or Bosh, what would you have done? Those are two really good players, which Walsh just basically traded Crawford and Randolph for the chance to get. Would you guys rather have kept those 2 and not had a chance at anyone?

  • Wheres The D

    Chris,

There is nothing to be baffled about here. DW came to the conclusion that AI would only help to an extent and the losing would start to wear on him at some point, thus him becoming a major headache in the locker room. Here is a scenario: The Knicks sign AI, he does not help them improve that much. By the All-Star game, D’Antoni wants to give more minutes to the rookies as the season is lost and some of those extra minutes come at AI’s expense. Now AI starts complaining and calling out his coach, etc, etc. This was the scenario that was going to play out if we signed Iverson b/c 1) This team stinks 2) AI is not the player he once was.

This season is not about winning, this season is about developing the young players we have. If we have 10, 20 or 30 wins at year end it does not matter, what matters is if Gallo, Chandler, Hill and TD improve their games. If at year’s end Hill only averaged 3 mins a game, Gallo is still only a jump-shooter and TD still can’t properly run the offense, then the season is a complete failure.

  • BiggieSmalls

they simply didnt want to take the risk of A.I. going postal in the next 30 games.

Develop the rookies.. build up Curry’s value and look for a bigger/franchise shaping trade between bow and the AS break.

A.I> wasnt doing anything for this mess but selling some tickets to people who arent really fans… and it is NOT a 12 win team.. things will even out to 35 wins

    this is about 2010.

  • Mucha

Chris Bosh and Joe Johnson = Conference Finals at least in my opinion.

  • BiggieSmalls

this turning Duhon into iverson is a false prophet.

Duhon would have played along side A.I. It would have affected Nate/TD and Hughes’ minutes and Gallo’s shots.

  • Mucha

The Knicks need to clear the logjam at the 4 spot to give Jordan Hill major minutes.

I think I would have signed Iverson/traded Al Harrington or even David Lee.

    Iverson/Douglas
    Hughes/Robinson
    Gallinari/Chandler
    Hill/Jeffries
    Lee/Curry

Roster I would go to war (pillow fight) with.

  • Knicks4life

Should chant “SIGN A-I” at every Knicks home game right after the “FIRE DOLAN” chants. Unbelievably pathetic and what is even worse is some fans want to see this team remain the same.

You don’t think Gallo, TD, and Hill would benefit from having a player on the Court who can create his own shot? Did D”Antoni’s offense look better or worse with another chucker, Jamal Crawford in the lineup? I’m so f**king mad right now.

  • Knicks4life

    Your wrong.

  • Wheres The D

Can I get a Amen, BiggieSmalls! Preach on!

  • Wheres The D

And your blind to the truth…

  • NYK Orange and Blue

I am completely enraged with this team. They have an opportunity to sign a future Hall of Famer to at least make them competitive this season and they pass it up! This move wouldn’t have affected ANY of our young players, I could understand if we had a stud like JENNINGS! then we avoid AI but who are we trying to develop here? Gallo, Ghostface, Chandler?!!! Sure they all look like they will some day be nice players, but none of them are going to help us win more than 20 games this year! This is it, I am done with this team, absolutely done.

DW is basically saying “I don’t care about this year and Utah can enjoy picking in the top 5 in the draft” Completely disgusting, this team is putting all their eggs in the 2010 basket, but who in their right mind is gonna wanna come to a 20 win team?! I’m sure Lebron who could go anywhere he wants will pick a 20 win Knick team with no supporting cast! I am outraged, I have spent my last day sweating this team!

This is the ultimate f*ck you to fans everywhere, we have suffered too long, any real NYK fans will join me in ignoring this team until they prove they care about winning games! I think Herm Edwards said it bes “YOU PLAY TO WIN THE GAME!” and right now the Knicks are only playing for their 2010 wet dreams. I’m done.

  • DaGawD_KnowLedge

they good players but to wait 2 years for them
    hell no

i guess some fans will be happy with weak bosh an joe J
altho bosh is having a really good season due to him expiring..

  • Wheres The D

Yes they would benefit from someone that can create his own shot, just not AI. AI is not about making anyone around him better. Thats why every team he has left gets better after he leaves. Andre Miller made the Sixers better and Chauncey made Denver better.

  • DaGawD_KnowLedge

    it’s sad.

first dolan jr needs to go for everything to work better
donnie is 2 old for this job

    an danni boy needs nash..

  • Wheres The D

Blah Blah Blah…could have signed a Hall of Famer…THAT IS PAST HIS PRIME PEOPLE!!!!! WAKE UP!!!

So if we could get Jordan out of retirement then we should sign him because he is a Hall of Famer????

This team is no longer about the present, but its about the future. If you can’t deal with that stop watching until next season.

  • Wheres The D

This season is no more sad than the last 7 have been, except for the 1st time in a LONG time, there is hope for better days after this season, where there has not been after years past b/c of our cap situation.

  • DaGawD_KnowLedge

this team really don’t have no future just cap space
    that’s reality

u get ya future by drafting.

here come bosh an joe J..

  • DaGawD_KnowLedge

if this team was really rebuilding these guys would be in the starting line up
    an play every guy

    doug
    chandler
    back prob guy
    hill

  • DaGawD_KnowLedge

    GAME^

  • bmathews77

Now the only thing we can look forward to is hope that they showcase Curry enough that he gets traded asap.

  • NYK Orange and Blue

Yes because Lebron, Wade, or Bosh will totally see a 20 win Knicks team(showing regression NOT PROGRESS) and think they would like to spend the next 5-6 years of their career here?! That kind of thinking is what makes our fanbase a joke. We had a guy come in here and essentially tell us “we are not gonna try to win for the next 2-3 years” and were okay with that. Even I was on board, but then I realized “what player is gonna wanna join this train wreck?” Its easy to just say “wait til 2010, we’ll sign everyone” but nobody will wanna sign with us because a 20 win team with 0 leadership or talent just doesn’t seem to attractive IMO.

  • Wheres The D

    DaGawd,

The Celtics rebuilt their entire franchise in one offseason and won a TITLE, finally, finally, finally, after years of waiting and waiting, Walsh has finally put us in a situation where we can possibly do the same…why is that so hard to understand and be happy over? Because the team stinks now and you have no patience? Who cares about the team now…At least 7 of the players on today’s roster will not be here including: Duhon, Lee, Nate, Harrington, Darko, Hughes and hopefully one or both of Jeffries and Curry – there is a reason why these players have never and probably will never win in this league, b/c they are “ME” players (except for Lee, who if he was on a good team would be a great role player).

  • DaGawD_KnowLedge

    your rite about that but
like i said if they were actually starting the young guys i would say no to Ai but they not an that’s the prob..

  • ds2488

First, I at least hoped that Iverson would just straight up take all of Duhon’s minutes, as the guy has been so bad that he doesn’t even deserve a minute on one of the worst teams in the league. Maybe that was wrong to expect but that would not take away from Douglas’s minutes, probably more of a chance of Hughes or Nate losing minutes. As far as Gallo’s shots go, the guy pretty much can’t take any less shots no matter what. He needs someone to draw the defense in, and that guy was AI. Finally, I understand fans not wanting to wait 2 years just to end up with Bosh or Joe Johnson, but im just wondering what the alternative is/was? Stick with Crawford and Randolph, be stuck in salary cap hell, and hover around the 8th seed with a really flawed team that would never win a playoff series?

  • Wheres The D

And they will be by the All-Star break.

  • DaGawD_KnowLedge

ainge wasn’t scared an traded for the rite recipe..

  • Wheres The D

    BINGO!!!!!!

  • DaGawD_KnowLedge

how are u going to develop them an they not even getting enuff minutes..
    lmao..

  • DaGawD_KnowLedge

what flavor kool aid is it Big?

did u get a hot dog with it?

  • Wheres The D

How do you know for sure that they drafted poorly because they are not dropping 25 pts a game right now? I can put a list together of players who stunk their first few years in the league and finally put it together to become an all-star player and two are players that Gallo has been compared to: Turkoglu and Nowitski.

  • Wheres The D

A star player will come here if they know another star is coming with them. Thats why Walsh is positioning himself to get two max contracts. If a player comes here and leads this team to a championship – they will be immortals in NY. Players know that, thats why they have not signed extensions. NY is NY for a reason. Its the biggest stage in sports and if you win here, there is no place better to do it…Ask Jeter and Eli.

  • ds2488

As far as Lebron and Dwade looking at our team and not wanting to come here, what do you think their respective teams would be like without them on it? I think the Knicks have a much brighter future than the Cavs sans Lebron, as the Cavs roster will basically be overpaid players like Mo Williams and a bunch of prospects like JJ Hickson, Verajao(sp?), Gibson, Moon. Does anybody think that is more appealing than Chandler, Gallinari, Lee, Douglas, and Hill? If you do, then yeah your right. But personally I think the Knicks are much better set up for the future than a Cavs team with aging players and late drafted prospects. Just my personal opinion though.

  • DaGawD_KnowLedge

u know they isn’t a big difference between craw/z-bo an joe an bosh

  • Wheres The D

    I 100% agree

  • DaGawD_KnowLedge

they basically traded 2 guys to give long term big deal to similar guys.
    lmao

    this is funny..

  • Wheres The D

And you have basically just lost all credibility on this blog with that comment…WOW.

Just ask a Hawk fan who starts and who is on the bench every night for them.

Ask a Raptor fan who they would want on there team for the last 4 years, Randolph or Bosh.

I should never respond to a post by you ever again.

  • DaGawD_KnowLedge

    let’s see

  • blackwood

Wheres the D….How dare you tell life long Knick fans that they should except some washed up has been (who by the way has never won a damn thing) and his screw ups!!! He blew 2 drafts hands down all that “give them time” crap is just that crap!! Gallo is a bust!! a bust!! a bust!! We have no team, so I guess you must be rich and use company tickets to go to games but hard working life long fan who spend there hard earned money to support a team that does not support them!! An offering of A.I. to at least attempt to give us something to watch is at the least what they could have done!! So until you, dolen or donnie buy back the tickets and let all games be free dont even begin to think you can talk down to fans who can see whats right in front of there faces!! Management with Alzheimer and an inability to see or draft real high level talent and a complete disregard for the coast both monetarily and at this point emotionally on the fans who they are working so hard to lose! All in a misguided dream of landing Lebron!! At this point after all this crap you have no choice but to land Lebron because if you dont I am done with the knicks until there sold to a real owner who hires a real GM!!

  • Wheres The D

Crawford has never been in the playoffs dude and if he gets in this year its only because he is going to ride Joe Johnson’s coat tails there. And Randolph has been traded 3 times in two years for a reason.

  • DaGawD_KnowLedge

i think people should know by now the euro guy got back probs an is no more or a little better an jud B

    doug is the only guy

i can’t judge hill is yet but there were better players to draft

  • DaGawD_KnowLedge

how your so sure they going to get it together.

    hope is a bad thing..

  • blackwood

  • NoVaCaInE

There is no gamble in getting under the cap and spending wisely.

  • DaGawD_KnowLedge

    lmao…

  • ds2488

Yeah Wheres the D, I am with you on that. Joe Johnson is the go to guy on that team, while Crawford is the 6th man. ZBO will put up amazing stats, but there is a reason nobody wants him and he constantly ends up being the best player on the worst teams. Who was he traded for this summer? Was it Q-rich and some other bums? There is no way that any NBA person would say Jcraw and ZBO = Bosh and Joe Johnson or even comes close to that.

  • DaGawD_KnowLedge

is over paying bosh an joe wise?

  • DaGawD_KnowLedge

joe isn’t better than marbury when he fist came here..

an bosh isn’t better than z-bo by much…

  • blackwood

UPDATE….GM OF THE NEW YORK KNICKS DONNIE WALSH HAS TRADED THE RIGHTS OF ALL KNICKS FANS TO THE NEW JERSEY NETS IN RETURN THE KNICKS GET THE JERSEY OF KENNY ANDERSON AND AN AUTOGRAPHED BASKETBALL SIGNED BY JAY-Z & LEBRON JAMES!!

  • DaGawD_KnowLedge

    lol.

  • DaGawD_KnowLedge

they were in the rite situation before being traded from the knicks..

  • Wheres The D

Blackwood…I don’t have season tickets for any of the teams I root for in any sport becuase I cannot justify such an expense with a family to take care of. Now I go to a handful of games a year for the Mets, Knicks, Rangers and Giants, but that does not make me less of a fan just because I choose to watch from home. Now I am not telling anyone to accept the horrible team that has been put together for this season, but Walsh did lay out his plan from the first day he was hired, preparing fans of the team that last year and this year were going to be very tough, so to act like the wool has been pulled over your eyes is not fair.

Now with respect to the last two drafts, Gallo and Hill are projects and I cannot label them “Busts” yet. Did Walsh miss the boat on immediate impact players like Gordon and Jennings, quite possibly, but I cannot make that determination just yet. Sorry, I lived through the quick fix eras of Isaiah and layden and they did not work. I am willing to wait to at least 2010 to see how the Knicks end up and would very happy if we end up with Bosh and Joe Johnson.

  • DaGawD_KnowLedge

    agreed
    an the damm point these
    2010 suckers
an old on hill an gallo fans wouldn’t understand

i’m not saying add payroll to the 2010

it’s sad an even more sad there so called fans
got high hopes that this team is going to win more than 20 games..

  • DaGawD_KnowLedge

    SOLD on

  • Wheres The D

Last years team would have never won a championship – yes they would have possibly been an 8th seed in the playoffs, but thats not good enough for me, I want to strive for an organization that makes the playoffs every year with a chance at a title in most of those years.

  • DaGawD_KnowLedge

has he been on a team like the hawks?

bring joe on this team an see what’s the difference between craw an joe

plus joe is a 3 rate allstar an bosh also..

  • DaGawD_KnowLedge

an trading isn’t bad that means som1 wants u..

  • DaGawD_KnowLedge

    lmao…

    ok dude
    what u say

    lmao..

i guess your a new born baby or a older fool

  • DaGawD_KnowLedge

by the way if it wasn’t for craw they won’t have the best record in the east rite now..

  • Wheres The D

We got nothing but time…lets enjoy the ride there.

  • NoVaCaInE

    LMFAO!

  • DaGawD_KnowLedge

so your saying bosh an joe would will a chip?

  • JC in DC

Why are we worried about minutes for Nate and Hughes? These guys are going to be gone next year.

  • Wheres The D

While Crawford is having a good season so far, I would not say that he is the only reason for their record being so good. Joe Johnson is averaging 23 points, 5 rebs and 5 assists per game, while Crawford is averaging 16 pts, 2 rebs and 3 assists per game.

  • JC in DC

Which NBA GM is going to trade a KG-type of HOFer to the Knicks this offseason? Is any former Knick a GM looking to do his old team a favor?

  • Wheres The D

They got a hell of a better shot than Craw and Zach being your best players. You just said that the Hawks have the best record in the east and Joe Johnson is doing that with Al Horford as his low post threat, now I like Horford alot, but Bosh is probably better than him right now and if you put Johnson with Bosh, that is a great start to rebuilding the Knicks team.

  • blackwood

Lets be clear blowing the drafts 2 years in a row and he blew it without questions when you dont draft POSITION OF NEED!!! for what could be ok players down the line projects!! I am also not asking for a championship this year just a team that can give you even a small level of excitement and maybe a slight bit of hope at competing for a playoff spot, if for nothing else to make next years draft less painful by making it as valueless as we can!! It gives us reasons to cheer and root the team on to have a little passion for the team we grew up loving!! A.I would of had no negative impact on us in any way saying anything else makes you an apologist for this washed up has been of a GM!! If he does not like black inner city guards then he needs to go become a GM for a hockey team!!

Listen to the propaganda these donnie lovers are already trying to set us up with ” if we end up with bosh & Joe Johnson im happy” lmaoooo already trying to get you to settle for less then Lebron or Wade!! Because they know the truth and that is that donnies trash drafting and lack of talent evaluation has doomed the knicks to the second tier free agents!!

  • DaGawD_KnowLedge

u know i never said z-bo n craw was better than bosh an joe

all i said was they are very similar….

  • DaGawD_KnowLedge

    agreed again

like i said alot of fans are like SHEEP.

  • Wheres The D

I am not setting anyone up for anything other than myself and I am only doing that because I do not want to hype myself up for LeBron and not get him. If I set myself up for Bosh and Joe Johnson and we get LeBron, I will be going crazy. Its a protection mechanism I have when dealing with the Knicks and Mets, set yourself up for the worst so you won’t be disappointed if it happens and should you luck out and get the best, you can celebrate.

  • DaGawD_KnowLedge

take craw out of that team an they have 2 3 wins less

all i’m saying is that players need to be in the rite situation..
    that’s all

i have watch a few hawks game so i know what craw is doing for that team..

  • DaGawD_KnowLedge

that’s how u gotta do it
    i’m the same way

but i’m not big fans of bosh or joe…

  • Wheres The D

WOW, please do not go with the race argument…that gets old real quick…lets not forget that it was the Pacers team with Artest and Stephen Jackson that started the “Malice at the Palace”.

  • Wheres The D

You never said they were better, but I don’t believe they are even similar…not close.

  • Wheres The D

Plus DW is a New Yorker – to think that he drafts or signs players based on the fact that they are from the inner city or a farm in Indiana is just ignorant.

  • ds2488

Blackwood, we have had this argument before and I certainly respect your opinion, but it is way too early to be calling Gallo a bust and the rebuilding process bad? Have you seen Dirk and Hedo’s stats from their first 2 years? By the way you have treated Gallo so far, I imagine you would have demanded they return to Europe and be cut. DaGawd, Im not really sure what you mean when you kill DW supporters sheep? Its called being patient and allowing a GM more than a year to rebuild one of the biggest messes of a roster in the history of the league. We had the highest payroll and no future or chance of real improvement, to go along with averaging like 28 wins or something. Now after a year, we will have the most cap space next year for an amazing free agent class, along with young players who can improve. Im not sure, but it seems like you would prefer to not have a chance to improve. Rebuilding always involves sucking for some years, and that is the only way to get good. How did the Celtics get to where they are now?

  • Wheres The D

    ds2488,

You nailed it on the head!!!!

  • blackwood

Gallo has a bad back as a teen!!! Do you think that gets better? this is the second year in a row that the back is an issue. Gallo is showing you his skill sets he is an ok big man with a jumper not Dirk! let that dirk talk go if he becomes Dirk I promise a steak dinner on me!! if not its on you what do u say? Because I know im right KG had star written all over him even Bargnani showed in his first year that he was a baller! So excuses mxcuses lol

As for the Celtics they traded all there young (better young players then we have) players for KG so whats your point?? They did not rebuild they retooled and pulled in 2 older vets and won it all so what are you saying? They even signed Steph after the Knicks so what are u saying? Unless your saying we need to trade all these young “projects” for one real star which im all for then whats your point?

  • Wheres The D

Who would you have chosen as GM after Isiah was fired? Just curious.

  • blackwood

Settling for B level free agents was never the plan!! It really was Lebron or bust and we all know it!! So settling has never been the plan as far as i know.

  • Wheres The D

    Blackwood,

The Celtics re-built, they waited until they had cap space and traded for Ray Allen and Kevin Garnett instead of trying to sign players. In our case since we really do not have players to trade, we will go and spend money. Same difference. Instead of Ray Allen and KG, we can sign LeBron and Bosh or LeBron and Boozer or whatever combo that would make you happy.

With regards to Gallo, he just had surgery on his back, he is still getting into game shape as recovering from back surgery does not allow you to run and lift weights all that much. All the more reason to give him time.

  • ds2488

I was just citing them as an example of a team that sucked for several years, and used their pooled assets to improve to a championship team. They definitely did rebuild Blackwood, as they were one of the worst teams in the league for 2 years. True Al Jefferson was a much better prospect than any the Knicks have, but it was still a matter of patience. As far as the Gallo argument, Gallinari now has a 22 point game and 30 point game under his belt. Im not sure Bargnani ever did that in his first year, plus he was the #1 pick who did not have major back surgery the summer before. Im not saying Gallo will be as good as Dirk, Im just saying that it is way too early to judge him, and like most European prospects it will take some time for him to become accustomed to the NBA game. You are right about his back, that is a major concern and problem that could ruin his career, but that still doesn’t mean he has no potential to improve or that he won’t be a good nba player. His back forced him out of his rookie year, and that is it so far.

  • Wheres The D

What move would you have liked them to make besides Iverson that would not have ruined the 2010 plan? If you can tell me a move that makes sense, i’ll agree with you.

  • JustinCharles

How can you label these guys busts after not even one full season?

There are tons of players that rode the bench for one or two years before becoming an All Star. It happens. Some players are going to contribute right away, some players are projects.

Deal with it. Complain all you want. Anyone who actually watches basketball knows it would be absolutely idiotic to label these guys busts already. They are young guys that everyone, except apparently some of the guys on this blog, knew would be PROJECTS that need to DEVELOP. Two terms that a lot of people don’t seem to understand.

We werent going to compete until 2010, that means we have time to DEVELOP these guys, rather than having to draft the guy who was going to contribute right away. Let these guys develop. Find a way to enjoy watching them get better and better.

  • Jay2010

    @ blackwood

These guys will never understand what me and you already see… Gallo is a BUST.. We drated a man with a bad back that sat out all last season as a #6 pick! We could of had Lopez, we could of had Jennings this yr! As the season goes by, we will c who is right about Gallo. So far, we are. 3 good games out of 11 doesn’t do ish for me. 0 points against INDIANA doesnt prove a point? This season is over b4 it started. Old man Donnie has ruined 2 seasons for us promising GOLD in 2010. I say this… LEBRON or BUST. That was the goal since day 1. Don’t give me this Bosh and Joe J crap. Clear cap by trading Curry and Jarred so we can get 2 max players cause we all know there is no way LBJ is coming hear alone.
Another statement, DONNIE WALSH is getting very very close to ISIAH THOMAS status. Yea, I said it. 2 bad years and he has 1 year to make up for it. If he blows it next year, then he will be worse then Isiah. I can say this much… ISIAH would of NEVER drafted Gallo and he would of seen JENNINGS coming.. He suked as a GM, but he can find talent in a hay stack (in drafts).

  • Jay2010

    @ ds2488

Gallo as good as Dirk?! LMAO.. Gallo cant do what Dirk does in Italy, he wont do it in the NBA. And maybe one day he will be a star. Its part of the Knicks plague. We buildem up, trade them and they become stars else where. Ex TREVOR ARIZA!

  • ds2488

Again Jay, you are clearly misreading and misquoting what I said. Read it again and you will see that I just said it took Dirk a while to develop, so give Gallo some time. Secondly, you clearly have no idea what rebuilding means or is based on your comments. Besides the draft, since it is too early to tell, what would you have done to improve this team? You seem to be saying you would rather have Crawford and Randolph instead of anyone of those guys. Which I guess is fine, if you want them to be stuck with no chance to improve and a chance at the 8th seed. If you hate Gallo so much, then go watch the Nets and their superstar Brook Lopez who has helped them to an 0-12 record, but I guess he has no flaws and can still get much better unlike Gallo according to you.

  • ds2488

Oh yeah, Zeke was an amazing drafter too Jay. i mean come on, Channing Frye with the 8th pick, Ronaldo Balkman, was he Mike Sweetney too?, Mardy Collins. So many great, great nba players there.

  • Wheres The D

Oh yeah Lopez has really carried the Nets on his back with Harris out…if you have not noticed the Nets have not won a friggin’ game.

Right now, i’ll give you Jennings, b/c I just have not seen enough of Hill yet.

And may I remind you, no one has a 100% positive track record when drafting, no one.

Unless Donnie sexually harasses someone, costs his boss millions of dollars in trial fees or has one of his players banging interns in his truck, he will never reach Isiah status, Donnie walsh is as a respectable man as there is in the NBA and has at least provided some class in the front office.

And you will never understand what we see, buddy.

OK, the last straw is saying Donnie Walsh is approaching Isaiah Thomas territory. I have tried to be reasonable, the team is 1-9, in defending the regime but are you guys OUT OF YOUR FUCKING MINDS?

Donnie Walsh came here with all the problems Isaiah Thomas created. If it wasnt for him trading our fucking pick, we would all so happy with our 1-9 records, and everyone would be talking about how we next year we’re getting John Wall and Lebron.

Now, I wasn’t 100% on board with the Zach and Crawford trades, I thought that was a bit premature. BUT, the guy came here and said, listen, I am going to clear all of this cap space, hire a coach who players like, and then make a major impact in 2010 when there will be a great free agent class. LET THE MAN DO THAT. Every good GM has made bad draft decisions, and our two picks AREN’T THAT BAD. Give them some time. Let them play.

Go Look at the game log from Chris Bosh’s first season. It’s right here

Keep in mind, there was no real PF or C to even compete with Bosh for minutes. Only a 41 year old Antonio Davis, and Donyell Marshall who played mostly SF. The Knicks have Lee, Jeffries, Gallo, and now Curry getting minutes at 4. The kid has many games of 0, 5, 4, 2, 6 points in there. After every game like that would you say THE KID IS A BUST GET EM OUTTTA HERE. It happens, rookies have bad games.

Gallo will NEVER be DIRK. Not after 1 more season, 3 or even 5! He has no game. He showed he can score 30 pts in one game and everyone went crazy. I think Olawakandi even scored 30 once, where he at? He can’t post, he can’t defend, and he can’t create. When we draft a #6 pick we shouldn’t have to wait 3-5 seasons for them to develop. Lets see what develops. I been a Knick fan my whole life and I’m allowed not like a player on my team. I really hope I’m wrong about Gallo, but I just don’t see any promise. We been rebuidling for the last 10 years, when is this masterpiece finally going to be built? I underatand the 2010 plan and I’m happy JC and Randolph is gone to make room. If old man Donnie doesn’t go to work in the summer of 2010 and sign either Lebron and or Wade, he just cost us 2 seasons for nothing.
