When: 1 PM

Where: MSG

Lineups:

Celtics:

PG- Rondo

SG- Allen

SF- Pierce

PF- Garnett

C- Perkins

Knicks:

PG- Duhon

SG – Hughes

SF- Chandler

PF- Gallo

C- Lee

Notes:

Today marks the MSG debut for Curry, and with Boston’s fierce frontline, he might be needed. Coming off two nice wins, the Knicks hit a brick wall today in the Boston Celtics. However, we all remember how the Knicks surprised the C’s last season at the Garden. Can magic strike twice on Broadway?

Let’s go Knicks.

    Crucial game..

We win this one, we meet the Lakers on a 3-game win streak, and we know Kobe isnt going to take it easy…

We need this one, for some momentum, im praying for us to win this one…

  • thefutureisnow

i have caught some knick games here and there is this the first time the rooster is playing pf?

  • jaknicksfan

I Thank its more like just having 2 forwards than Gallo playing PF, and we really do need to win this game. I know the Celts are Elite but you never know and it sure would be Sweet! Let’s Go Knicks!

  • Matty_Pickles

you mean its like having 3 Forwards on the floor??

  • JustinCharles

    So to answer your question:

Yes, Gallo can take it to the hole and DUNK.

  • JustinCharles

Also, I bench Harrington for that half assed effort on Rondo. You need to attempt to foul or something. Not the whole game, but take him out for the rest of the quarter. You cant let your team know thats acceptable.

  • smoke

David Lee seems useless out there…. Perfect example Chandler is breaking down the court and Lee runs out in front and clogs up the paint without being open, so instead of Chandler dunking or getting fouled he has to settle for a missed pull up J. David Lee isnt even athletic we need athletic bigs he has no place here he’s not even big!

  • Realist_Knick_Fan

No real attacking the basket yet – except for Gallo and Hughes – settling for outside shots – but at least a good defensive effort overall in the 1st quarter – although the C’s starting off cold.

  • Realist_Knick_Fan

Harrington heating up at least – still no free throws yet for Knicks

  • the oak

I hate it that when Curry comes in all we try to do is feed him the ball. How many turnovers have we had simply trying to feed Curry in the post. I’d like to get Curry some looks to but you don’t have to force it.

  • Boots

Gotta chip the rust off him and keep him involved in the game. The faster that he becomes “rust-free,” the faster he can become part of the team or part of a trade.

I’m glad to see him in there for the fact that he makes the Knicks play a more traditonal offense set.

  • Realist_Knick_Fan

Nate is heating up – with 5 min to go in first half – have to like the effort – though no Dougey or Hill and Gallo seems to have played his minutes in the 1st quarter.

  • JASONHAYES

Knicks are playing a well put together first half. I must give credit when credit is due.

  • Realist_Knick_Fan

Lee has to put those second shots back with more authority.

Nice attempt there by Gallo – but bad defense at the other end leaving his red headed man open for a three in the corner.

  • Realist_Knick_Fan

Joe Girardi – awesome – go Yankees.

No matter what in these next few minutes – good job here by Knicks – they are carrying over there efforts from the 2nd half in Indiana and the Nets game to this first half – good consistency effort wise – though I want more attacking the basket.

  • Realist_Knick_Fan

And that is what I’m talking about – Chandler to the basket – creates three point play -

  • JustinCharles

Just an example of how Gallo affects the team, as the Boston announcers explain:

Gallo and Chandler on the perimeter, Scalabrine must stay locked on Gallo, effectively taking him out of the game momentarily, allowing Chandler to have the one on one look to the lane, resulting in the basket and foul.

  • HaS

Man, I missed Galinari’s dunk, I hope they show it at halftime!

  • Realist_Knick_Fan

One of the highlights from the 1st half for me – drove from the arc right to the hole. He also hit a nice mid-range shot from the corner. Hopefully we get to see some of Douglas in 2nd half. I think he could add a nice 6-8 points to this game.

  • Realist_Knick_Fan

Well things went sour here in a hurry in the 2nd half – bad passes – turn overs.

  • Realist_Knick_Fan

And again – no Douglas or Hill.

  • Realist_Knick_Fan

Sweet three from Gallo – and Chandler drives to the bakset!!!

  • Realist_Knick_Fan

Weathering the storm here – climbed back to within 6.

  • blackwood

    WHERE THE HELL IS HILL!!!!!

  • Realist_Knick_Fan

    Harrington is unconscious!!!!!

  • Realist_Knick_Fan

He’s hitting threes in his sleep – I actually will go against Fraz there – I like the aggressiveness there by Al on the defensive end even if it led to his 3rd foul.

  • pleasepleaseplease

Mike D developing the future once again.

  • Realist_Knick_Fan

You would think he would be playing b/c 1) Jefferies is out today, and 2) they said they wanted to develop their young players when they did not sign AI.

  • HaS

    He’s developing.

  • Realist_Knick_Fan

What an up and down 3rd quarter – Eddy Curry get enthused here at the end – increase that trade value.

  • Realist_Knick_Fan

Curry just grabbing those past two defensive rebounds with authority

Al hitting threes in his sleep

Great steal there against Pierce on one our last possessions in the 3rd and then Nate nailing a three

**** still tempered by that the future four on the roster are not as instrumental again in this game so far – but hey – it’s exciting at least. Just living in the moment for today,

  • pleasepleaseplease

I don’t know… everything that guy does makes me mad. Even when he hits ‘em like he does today, I just shake my had because it’s going to encourage him to take even more stupid shots in the future.

I’m happy for the Knicks, though and I like the effort.

  • blackwood

EC he play big and strong gota give him props for playing like a big man! The boys are playing with heart!! guess the chatter bout them being bums pissed em off

  • JustinCharles

I love Hill and want to see him get minutes but come on, those of you watching the game, where do you see him getting minutes that wouldn’t be detrimental to the game? It’s a close game we’re teetering on here, and we even when the other team has their second unit in, we need to capitalize rather than be watching Hill develop.

I wanna see Hill develop but we are playing the Celts hard right now, theres no room for him.

  • HaS

Nate Robinson may just be the Knicks’ most talented player.

  • Realist_Knick_Fan

Great tip there by Gallo – and Nate just continues to feel it.

  • Realist_Knick_Fan

You just sub Hill in for Jefferies minutes – Jefferies is out today. He would just be in the rotation for 8-10 minutes – and yes – he could have made a positive impact – he is 6’10″ – would give Perkins and Wallace fits if not just for a brief period of time. Look – this team is not about winning – it’s fun having this lead agains the Cs – but this season is about larger things than grabbing a win on a Sunday afternoon in November. This season has and always will be about 2010.

    Peace.

  • Realist_Knick_Fan

Eddy C drawing the charge – you watching Houston????????

  • bartnyk

    Hes a bum

  • bartnyk

Don’t worry Hill is asset we will trade him for a draft pick Paul George

  • Realist_Knick_Fan

C’s in the penalty w/ over 6 to go – awesome. Attack the basket from here on out!!

  • Realist_Knick_Fan

I would trade Hill for a lottery pick next year – even if it were in the 9-12 range – next year’s group is loaded.

  • bartnyk

    Defiantly

  • DaGawD_KnowLedge

this kool aid is getting better an better

these knicks are now the overarchievers in this league going for 3 straight wins.

  • Realist_Knick_Fan

Pay not attention to Curry’s free throw shooting Houston – pay not attention Rockets. Or his flagrant foul. – geesh

  • JASONHAYES

Damn Eddy! Try to kill Rondo! The Knicks need that toughness though, start shoving others around.

  • DaGawD_KnowLedge

this gotta be the toughest curry is seen in his career keep it up curry u been mr softy all ya life it’s time u became a man

  • JustinCharles

I guess I am just of the fan variety who likes to see the team win, especially when we dont have a draft pick. I see a win more valuable than Jordan Hill getting 10 minutes of playing time. A win against an elite team in your conference can boost the entire moral of the team.

Also, you have to look at it from a basketball stand point. Its not just, give Hill all of Jeffries minutes. If Harrington is scoring and Curry is playing well and Lee is grabbing rebounds and Gallo is making plays, you’re gonna give these guys more minutes. As much as you want to see the future, Coach isn’t gonna see a game that can be won and throw in a rookie.

  • Realist_Knick_Fan

Cannot keep going 50% each time at the line.

  • Realist_Knick_Fan

Duhon – too much dribbling there. Allen with a dagger from the corner – come on Knicks.

  • bartnyk

Come on David reset after that rebound.

  • Mucha

    What???

Jordan Hill was dominant against Cole Aldrich last year, and everybody’s saying that Aldrich is one of the best prospects in a draft class loaded with big men.

    So??

  • Realist_Knick_Fan

    Chandler???

  • Realist_Knick_Fan

    Chandler!!!! Redemption – great pass.

  • bartnyk

    NICE PASS WIL!!!!

  • smoke

Nate should be in during this last two minutes duhon isnt giving us anything this half

  • Realist_Knick_Fan

What comes to do – with the way the game’s having been going – who would you rather have taking the final shots – Duhon/Hughes/Harrington – or AI??? B/c Mike D is not playing the youth development card right now.

  • pleasepleaseplease

Mike D is killing me. Why is Duhon in and Gallo and Nate out? C’mon, man!

  • Realist_Knick_Fan

Duhon burning time with his dribbles – come on defense here – need a stop and then tie it.

  • Mucha

The only players the Knicks could interested in are Willie Warren, John Wall and Evan Turner. Maybe a dark horse. But these guys look like top 8 picks.

  • Mucha

    Question of the day

  • Realist_Knick_Fan

Set up Gallo for the 3

  • Realist_Knick_Fan

    Clutch

  • bartnyk

    DEFENSE COME ON!!!

  • JASONHAYES

    GUARD RAY ALLEN!!!!!!GUARD RAY ALLEN!!!!PLEASE!!!!!!!!!!!! 4.7 LEFT

  • JASONHAYES

    THANK YOU GOD! THEY LISTENED!

  • bartnyk

    wILSON CANNOT FOUL OUT

  • JASONHAYES

    Knicks need this game!

  • bartnyk

dUHON IS A WASTE OF SPACE

  • Realist_Knick_Fan

    Come on Lee

  • smoke

Duhon is proving his worth as a good backup and rotation guard, but that’s it. He can play a solid 20-25 minutes a game keeping the offense in flow but he doesnt bring much on either end other than knowing the plays.

  • JASONHAYES

Probably the best game of the season so far! Knicks really need this win, it would give them alot of confidence.

  • Realist_Knick_Fan

Chandler rejected by nice defense by Pierce – ugh

  • bartnyk

    Gallinari??

  • HaS

    Great defense on Garnett.

  • bartnyk

    LMAO AT THE BUZZER

  • JASONHAYES

    Dammit lee!!!!!!!!!

  • DaGawD_KnowLedge

    lmao

    nice try knicks

if danni boy knew anything about D or any1 on his staff i don’t think Garnett would be that open..

yes this kool aid is great..

  • Realist_Knick_Fan

    Tough loss

Would be easier to swallow if Gallo had the game Harrington had or someone else who is part of the future.

Now onto a west coast trip – where Sacramento looks like the best chance for a win.

Tough tough tough – and nothing really positively for the future (2010 and beyond) comes out of this game – only thing is that there is effort in 2009 by the guys w/ expiring contracts

  • DaGawD_KnowLedge

as for gillinari that guy is 2 hyped up by alot of these bloggers

  • blackwood

hell of a game to bad we lost but damn i can live with a loss if its a game we played hard in!! I put that on MD not instructing they guys to stay on the ball and use the foul they had to give!! a few secs left 2 get killed just passing and moving then foul and force them to reset come the hell on MD!!!

  • Mucha

The Knicks had a foul to give. I guess a foul is too much to ask for (ask Brandon Roy).

    And where’s Gallo??

The Knicks are finally playing respectable basketball though.

  • Realist_Knick_Fan

and double whammy – the Giants are blowing there must win against Atlanta.

  • pleasepleaseplease

    Great effort by the guys.

But (again) mindnumbing rotation and decisions by the coach. D’Antoni lost this game.

  • DaGawD_KnowLedge

    lmao..

i’m sorry respect don’t come that easy as some of u fans like handing it out like club/party flyers..

the knicks stink ok.3-10 what’s to respect in that..

    the kool aid is great..

  • Realist_Knick_Fan

Yeah – Gallo probably is overrated by some on this blog – but underrated by others – he is somewhere in between – but surely not the next Dirk or a franchise player – but no a bust either. Maybe he’s the Kukoc – but we need an MJ and Scottie before we can contend – that’s for another day.

  • bartnyk

We need a 4 quarter playmaker = Mac

    LOL EC almost killed Rondo

  • Realist_Knick_Fan

Can only really evaluate games on how well the young guys were developed. This is and always has been about 2010 – I am not sure how well Gallo, Chandler, Hill, Douglas were developed today. I guess Chandler a little as he attacked the basket more. Gallo was good in the 1st quarter.

This year is all about the future – not the present.

  • joeyballz

    DaGawD_KnowLedge

Will you quit it with all the kool aid garbage. Noones drinking it at this point, I think fans were just rooting for their team to win. It seems like you take great pleasure in losses and rubbing it in, Man just keep your mouth shout and save all the other garbage for when its warranted. This would have been a good win and nothing else, I think everyone in this blog is savvy enough that not much will be made of this season.

    CHILL DA GAWD damn kid

  • bartnyk

Jordan Hill’s bball I.Q. is LOW he will get better but Cole is a smarter player than him right now plain and simple look at the best players in the league they are they have the highest I.Q. they know how to play the game mentally Hill is not there I would move him for a lottery pick.

  • pleasepleaseplease

Chris Duhon is probably the only starting point guard in the league that manages to play 47 minutes and only score 3 points.

Then again, D’Antoni is the only coach who would keep him on the floor instead of bringing on Douglas who already is the better player on offense AND defense.

  • DaGawD_KnowLedge

man if your rebuilding why not make gillinari the go to guy

phuk man i wonna see how good this kid can be

we already know what Al is.
    shit..

doug is a better go to guy than Al

if the knicks lost the game with the rebuilding pieces i would have no prob even hughes i wouldn’t mind taking shots the guy plays hard on both ends

    where was nate.

danni boy is a bad coach point blank..

  • the oak

    DaGawd, what is your deal?

I bet you were rooting for the Celtics anyway. Why else are you lmao?
Every post is about how bad the knicks are and kool aid. enough with the kool aid. It’s getting old.

If you hate Mike D so much, do yourself a favor and don’t watch, that way noone on this blog will have to read your redundant posts.

  • traps9

Please, someone tell me the graphic was wrong, and the Knicks didn’t have a foul to give. Someone tell me it’s harder than it looks to blitz and foul the ball off a pick and roll. Someone tell me if they fouled, the Celtics would’ve scored, anyway. Someone tell me something to not want to throw my laptop through the flat screen right now.

    Really? … REALLY?

  • pleasepleaseplease

    True.

  • Mucha

Mike D’Antoni lost the game if he didn’t tell Lee or Chandler to foul. The same thing happened in Portland last year. Ridiculous.

    The game was entertaining though.

At least Jordan Hill played and Gallinari took more shots than Hughes and Chandler.

  • DaGawD_KnowLedge

na man my eyes deserve better

    no doubt they tried today

but still gotta do better record wise for my respect..

  • Mucha

    ROTFL

But Duhon controlled the tempo. Granted he didn’t play particulary well but he was not useless.

  • DaGawD_KnowLedge

? who is the knicks coach?

  • Mucha

    Fair enough.

  • gdaibes

    Entertaining game, at least.

And seeing Eddy lay the smackdown on Rondo was an added bonus.

  • DaGawD_KnowLedge

but kool aid is the most refreshing before inbetween an after the game

  • Mucha

I’m not a Mike D’Antoni “apologist” but I’m not willing to burn him at the stake.

  • Mucha

    Good points.

  • joeyballz

I hear ya kid, but listen almost of this roster will be gone by seasons end. I understand the need to play the youngsters now, but I think the goal is to try and build up value and try to trade the expiring and along with JJ and Curry and to do that they all need to play at this point. If trades are made its going to be even worse than it is now. Listen this team is going anywhere, everyone knows that now, but lets hope they can improve as a team as to make their assets somewhat more marketable, so we can trade them, and suck even more. Lets, as fans, at least all be on board and all agree that the goal is to try to have space to attract to MAX free agents. That is the only way we can attract a 1A type free agent. In the mean time we can only cheer and hope they improve. YOU GET KNOWLEDGE, forget about their record for a little and think about the big picture. Done tell me you are happy with a 35 win team, cuse that was their ceiling before the season and Im hoping that is not what would EARN your respect

  • DaGawD_KnowLedge

i know they building guys up for a trade
but if your really trying to accomplish that start curry

making the playoffs he getting my respect..

  • DaGawD_KnowLedge

    is getting my respect^

  • HaS

    Tar and feather maybe?

  • Bob

here justin, take these tissues and wipe yer eyes and come over here and sit on my knee .let ole uncle bob talk to ya,JORDAN HILL stinks ,and his trade value is at an all-time high, becaause once they see this schlubb play, there will be no way we are gettin rid of him.jhill is one of donnie walsh big mistakes….the reason he dont play is because he cant ,he stinks.we wanted SCurry,he wasnt there,we wanted RRubio, minny GM screwed us up ,so now were stuck with JHILL..but we cant let him play,if anyone sees him play no one will ever trade for him.our only hope is to trade him as a throw in….we have pleanty othe mistakes but i cant get into them right now cuz my methadone is starting to kick in =THAT WAS OUR ROOKIE REPORT=
