Milicic Back To Europe Next Year

by Chris Alvino on November 28th, 2009 at 11:17 am

According to the Fanhouse, Darko Milicic figures to be heading back to Europe to continue his career.

To be honest, I am not really sure what happened to the big man this season.  I for one thought he played well enough to have a spot in the rotation, especially considering he is the only big man that we have on the roster who can hold his own in the paint defensively.  Think about all of the games where the Knicks were dominated in the paint.  Milicic never got the chance to stop the bleeding.

Again, it seems like simple logic to me for Milicic to have played in some of those games.  If you get killed in the paint, then why not put your best interior defender in to help?  I am not an NBA coach, so perhaps I shouldn’t speak to this subject, but for some reason I think he could have helped.

Oh well.

Well actually, I guess the reason why Milicic doesn’t see any time is the simple fact that the Knicks are too good of a team to be able to give a 24 year old 7 footer a chance.  That must be the reason.  The same probably goes for our lottery pick Jordan Hill.

Why the hell does D’Antoni refuse to play a legitamite bigman, alongside David Lee….

Lee and Milicic complement each other well imo, why cant our coaching staff see that!

Hell, hes only 1 year older than Douglas, keep him! Hes freakin 24 & a 7-year vet, and most importantly, capable of blocking a shot!

Milicic may not have the hustle & desire to be successful in the NBA, but he has the physical tools that could be useful!

that would make sense.. but it is “not how D’Antoni likes to play”

Just send Darko packing with a buyout if he isnt going to play.

We will continue to run jared jeffries out there with the hope of him playing well.

Attention to Donnie Walsh: If you trade Jeffries it is not going to be because of his play on the court. He is terrible.

And we are probably the only 3-13 team in NBA history to have 2 first round draft picks to continually have 2 1st round draft picks get DNP-CD

Coach D feels he owes it to the vets on one year deals to get them new contracts.

Too bad the vets on one year deals dont feel they owe it to MDA to play well.

    he doesn’t brick useless contested 3s. that’s a no-go- for coach mike.

There’s a secret part of the 7 seconds or less that was never published. It says never play rookies unless they are from Italy and never use 7 foot centers. You must use players out of position and the smallest possible center you can.

You also must keep shooting 3 pointers until one game they actually fall in, then you might win one. Never play defense except when the crowd chants defense. And alway allow other teams to make a certain amount of transition baskets, also forget about offensive rebounds, you have to run to the other basket so you can set up and let some marginal player run through the paint to score a layup and don’t forget to foul him.

The coach knows what Darko brings to practice and games: next to nothing. No hustle, passion, shooting touch, willingness to bang bodies or defend the paint, and no knack for being involved in pick & rolls, screens, offensive sets and running. When things get rough under the hoop, Darko runs for cover. He’s a wimp and not NBA caliber. Darko is a dud. He flamed out on 2 other teams too. Don’t blame D’A for the other guys on the roster putting out more. There are plenty of hungry young centers who deserve a shot at his roster spot.

The coach owes nothing to anyone. I understand what he is doing but I don’t agree with it. Does he want to continue to build a good reputation among the veteran players around the league? Thats the only thing i can think of because who cares if the veterans on the team get pissed off.
