He's the kind of player that would benefit most from a mentor who not only has skill and winning attitude, but the bball IQ to back it up. For example, I think the emergence of Ariza had a lot to do with Kobe showing exactly how to put a game on your shoulders. Chandler has all the tools, he just needs to put the pieces together. It starts with defense. One side not about Chandler; I think his motor has improved. From the begininng of the season. Has anyone else noticed that it seems like a good chunk of his offensive rebounds lately have been off his own shot? He's missing but he doesn't give up. That's encouraging. How many times does he have to ram into a player that is firmly planted for several seconds before he realizes that he's not going to get that call? Doesn't it seem odd that this guy gets called for a charge almost EVERY single night whenever he's on a 2 on 1 fastbreak, cuz he always makes the bad read on the play? He also doesn't seem to bring it every single posession, or every single night. He's just content to just float out there. He was the same way in college too.
