A Rucker style coach? Is D’Antoni a defensive mastermind? No. But I think that at this point it has been proven that he is not the “no defense” coach that people make him out to be. Just like the Knicks’ offensive totals are inflated by his system, the other team’s offensive stats are inflated too. If you adjust the stats, D’Antoni’s teams are generally in the middle or upper half of the league.

And, this team should be better and it’s the coach’s fault? Again, not fact. This could be your opinion, your speculation, your educated guess, but it is not fact. How much better should this team be? You know down to the percentage. Blame it all on the coaching, yeah. D’Antoni was brought here to coach a certain style of play and the players on this team do not fit that style, yet he must play them anyway for various reasons sent from management. So really, how much better do you expect them to be? And how is that the fault of the coach?
