ESPN: Heat Hot for Mike James

Via Mark Stein:

“…The Miami Heat’s position on trades is no secret. They won’t even consider making a deal for anyone whose contract extends beyond this season to preserve every cent of their projected trove of salary-cap space for July 1, 2010.

But the Heat have, according to NBA front-office sources, explored the possibility of trading for Washington’s highly available Mike James, whose first coach in a 11-team career in 2001-02 was Pat Riley in Miami.

Sources say that the teams discussed a trade during the preseason, but the Wizards balked because Miami would not send back an expiring contract. The Wiz have a similar mindset to Miami’s, determined not to take back anything but expiring salaries in minor deals like this one…”

Well if this is true, there goes the idea of moving Jeffries back to Washington, although I wouldn’t be surprised if the Wizards didn’t at least discuss the opportunity if they were ready to make a playoff push…

What are THEY going after in 2010?

In minor deals… So, what major deal can they be enticed with? Jeffries/Chandler/Harrington for James/Foye/Miller? Jeffries/Chandler/Hughes for James/Foye/Miller? Jeffries/Chandler/Lee for James/Foye?

I’m not saying pulling the trigger on any of these, I’m just saying…

Terrence Williams, Chris Douglas-Roberts, Courtney Lee, Jerryd Bayless..some Guards we should really try to add to our team that would boost our young core..especially CDR and T Will.

rite now there isn’t much teams that are willing to trade to add payroll unless they are getting a all star or allstar caliber player

Hey guys just think what we would do if we got in to the low first round. What do you guys think of Tony Crocker? The kid has a silky jumper he is athletic and he hustles, take a look at some highlights of him against Syracuse.

Two teams may consider EC if he plays at a decent level of 15 Pts & 6 Reb, for the entire January stretch without breaking down.

Spurs – EC for Matt Bonner 3.2mil / Finley 2.5mil / Mason 3.2 mil or other permutations of Ratliff / Mahinmi / Bogans etc., Note that Spurs might have their last chance at glory as currently constructed. With EC in the mix, they could have a very formidable starting line up.

Golden State – EC for Speedy 5.2mil / Bell 5.2 mil- the team has no use for so many Guards. Getting EC might actually help them considerably in moving up from the basement.
