Game Thread: Knicks at Bobcats

by Tommy Dee on December 15th, 2009 at 6:18 pm

Larry Brown, Boris Diaw, DJ Augustin, Michael Jordan…seems like a zillion plot lines to me.

No, don’t expect a Jonathan Bender sighting. But you can expect the Bobcats to give the Knicks fits tonight because they are so similarly matched.

Boris Diaw from the perimeter causes the Knicks issues, and you never know when Stephen Jackson can go for 40.

Follow Tommy’s thoughts during the game on TWITTER.

If you’re a Knick fan, again, root that the team hangs around in the first. If they are down double digits they will be fighting back all night long. They have been off and could start shaky, so if they are in the game after the first expect a solid performance throughout. They have thrived, as has their confidence, as the game rolls along. But falling too far behind is too much to ask in my opinion.

  • ScottD

They lost to Charlotte by 2 in OT last time.
    The Knicks will win tonight!

  • Mucha

Why does Gerald Wallace always look like Scottie Pippen against us?

  • Mucha

    ROTFL this game is hilarious

  • DaGawD_KnowLedge

    how bout JEFFRIES
    his value just went up..

  • DaGawD_KnowLedge

the turnovers stopped the knicks from building a 10-15pt lead

  • Realist_Knick_Fan

It’s halftime – and the Knicks just committed another turnover. I kid I kid – kind of. Still like our chances – as long as Wallace gets neutralized on the offensive board, Jackson runs hot and cold and not just hot, no more late drives and fouls on Murray, and again – neutralize Wallace. Maybe we can trade for D.J. during halftime – I kid I kid – kind of.

  • bockersORbriefs

So on a night when Harrington’s production is down because he’s sick, Hughes s lots of turnovers, and Gallo is turning down wide open 3s (he did that late in the 2nd quarter), N8 still can’t get off the bench !?!?

It’s absurd. This is a game where they look like they’ll need his offese but Father D’ant won’t budge … rediculous. And what about TD’s play being a “factor in not playing Nate” … that’s the BS the always right coach fed the media … well TD hasn’t logged a second either … please do us N8 non-haters a favor & de-activate him until you trade him … enjoy the rest of the game ..

  • CircleLimit4

Are both teams playing good defense or playing horrible offense? Both?

Even if the Knicks do win, it won’t be a good win if they play like they did in the 1st half.

  • CircleLimit4

Lets see Harrington channel Lou Hotlz haha.

  • bgstunna

Finally they are starting to get on track offensively. Chandler is playing well!!

  • bgstunna

and when did JJ become such a defensive force???

  • Chris Alvino

JJ is keeping this team rolling.

  • bartnyk

Why does Duhon never jump off the right foot on layups either way GO KNICKS we can win this game. Mike we have a foul to give.

  • Mucha

I can’t believe it, the Knicks have to rely on Jared Jeffries to win against the Bobcats. He’s really having a great game.

  • DaGawD_KnowLedge

    sidenotes

t-mac makes his season debut tonite

  • NoVaCaInE

Knicks falling apart down the stretch…

  • bartnyk

I knew they shouldnt have signed Bender dude messed up the chemistry.

  • DaGawD_KnowLedge

    the streak is over

here comes a long losing streak..

it was a nice run guys

    kool aid anyone?

  • bockersORbriefs

Nope, no need for N8 tonight … great coaching decision Father Mike …

  • Realist_Knick_Fan

Heart-breaking potential loss indeed Breen – oh well – maybe they can pull it off – but dang

  • DaGawD_KnowLedge

got a scrub by the name of felton
    schooling the knicks.lmao..

  • Mucha

I could see it coming, it was SO predictable.

What a waste of time this game was, the Knicks were pathetic tonight.

    The 4th quarter was… wow.

  • DaGawD_KnowLedge

any1 wants to make a guess
how long of a losing streak they are going on?

  • Mucha

This is why I don’t follow the “We shouldn’t trade the vets because we need to make the playoffs” dogma.

  • gdaibes

And the hate-gates are now officially opened…. It shouldnt be long before I see Biggie on here haha.

They all (except Jeffries wtf?!?!?) looked like shit today, but I want to see how we bounce back against the Bulls.

  • joeyballz

Tough tough loss, just fell apart at the end of the game. Jared fouling out actually hurt us big time as no one was able to take a charge for all those drives late in the fourth. He really does make a huge difference defensively in the paint.

Listen, bottom line, I think the Knicks have improved from their horrid start, and I think that will be in the hunt for the 8th spot all season long. It is important that they respond positively to a loss that hurts and that is where Mr. DAntoni comes in, needs to show as a coach that he can keep his teams confidence up.

  • bgstunna

This was just disgusting. No defense on either of those plays Felton jus layed it in. Pathetic effort. The offense just looked completely stagnant in the 4th, no ball movement like in the 3rd. nobody could hit a shot from anywhere. Just an embarrasing loss to a bad Bobcats team

  • CircleLimit4

Ugh, total bummer of a game.

Jackson should have been called for hanging on the rim. That would have made it a different game. Still, even if we did eek this one out, we played like garbage on the offensive side. You know you’re having an off night when Jared Jeffries fouling out is the turning point of the game.

  • Its The Kid

Rough loss but as bad as they played for most of the game it was amazing that they led at any point of the game…

On another note the rumor is GS is trying to trade Randolph… I would definitely like to see him on the Knicks… I’d Trade JJ, Nate, Hill or even Lee(but he’d probably decline the trade) to GS for Randolph and Ellis… We get those two to go with Gallo and Chandler and we have a brighter future…

  • CircleLimit4

This would have been a good game for Nate to play. Duhon and Hughes kept dribbling into traps and other trouble. Nate can get out of control but no one on this team is better at getting around pressure.

Also. 12-20 at the stripe is unacceptable. If we hit those, this would have been a winnable game.

  • CircleLimit4

Well, it was winnable regardless, but you know what I mean.

  • DaGawD_KnowLedge

    kool aid for the SUCKAZ..

  • NYKat

    Nate will not play ANYMORE…

D’antoni has a vendetta and it affects his coaching decisions…we’ll see how it plays out long term…

  • bockersORbriefs

Boy, that Nate is terrible … he plays no defense …how could he let Felton blow by him for layups over & over at the end of the game … what? what do you mean that wasn’t Nate? It HAD to be him … he’s the only guard on this team who dosen’t play defense …Father Mike said so himself & he’s ALWAYS RIGHT … I’ll look at the replay but I’m sure that had to be N8 .. that’s one of the reasons he’s been on suspension for the last 5 games … It HAD to be him …

  • DaGawD_KnowLedge

na i think it was marbury

    lmao..

  • bockersORbriefs

we found that out last year with Steph … and that eventually drove him to become a nutty, vasoline swallowing out of the league guy … who STILL is better than Du-NON …

  • bockersORbriefs

    or possibly Anthony Roberson ?

  • G

D’Antoni’s stubborness in not playing Nate bit him tonight. The short rotation is tiring guys out as they were spent at the end and allowed those uncontested drives tothe hoop. I think he distracts the team when he seems to be holding a grudge. Nate is not marbury and he shouldn’t be exiled. If D’Antoni is such a good coach let him get Nate focused and productive. He is too big a talent to waste!

  • DaGawD_KnowLedge

    correct

  • DaGawD_KnowLedge

it did kinda look like rober out there rite

    let me look again

ok it was a combination of all 3

  • bob go knicks

Fuck Nate ….hes done…..finished at least in this town

  • bob go knicks

ill take a “KOOL-AID ENEMA” HERE,IM BENDING OVER

  • bob go knicks

HERE COMES MUCHA, with a red rubberized bag…and a hose on his arm.bag filled to the top with grape knicks kool-aid

  • bob go knicks

I bet that they beat the bulls

  • bob go knicks

nate will and should never play again as a knick.the only thing is ……they shoulda made this happen last year

  • Loki1963

Last night was a tough lost. I wanted that win. I just hope it doesn’t set us back. Let’s beat the Bulls and get back on track.

  • Mal

I still think either TD or Nate should have gotten some playing time. The loss hurt I stayed up late to watch it tape delayed and didnt know the outcome I was geeked with about 2 minutes left thinking we had this one. The music on the Price is Right after lsoing BOOMP BOOMOP BOOOMBump Boooooom

  • Loki1963

Did TD do something wrong for him to be sitting in the corner with N8? Enough playing Larry H at the point, please. He looked horrible. TD would have probably lock Felton up. Mind you Felton is not one of the top point guards in the league, which proves Du-none is a back-up at best. I don’t care what he had last night. He cause us a 1-9 start.

If we can’t trade JJ now we never will. Yea he played good yesterday but we need more cap space. Also what will he do in the next game?

Eddy is sorry looking. And the team is forcing the ball into him.

  • NoVaCaInE

    Agreed!
