off the subject:ow come Z-bo goes to memphis and the center plays real wel and the SF plays well andZach plays great ,but wen he came to the knicks eddy curry couldnt handle the situation? someone rap him in burlap and throw him in the east river

Curry and Marc Gasol are two completely opposite players. Same with Thabeet and Curry. Z Bo and Curry couldn’t work because they were both black hole, non defending bigs. I don’t know what IT was thinking there other than the fact that Curry can’t rebound and Z Bo can.

I actually would have loved to see Curry go and Z Bo stay but Z Bo was more tradeable even though he had the bigger contract. Plus Z Bo going did open up opportunities for D. Lee to play so it wasn’t all bad.

And we didn’t completely suck with Z Bo. D’Aontini had the team playing really good basketball with him and Crawford but Donnie (correctly) wanted that cap space.

ZBO still does not play defense well. He’s ovbiously better than Lee, but I would rather have Lee this year and let him walk for nothing rather than Zach’s $17 million cap hit next summer. He usually has off court issues too. But he is an amazing talent and a much better player than Lee.

Donnie Walsh has to make a decision. If he feels that he can’te resign D. Lee then he needs to trade him/ Makes no sense to let him walk for nothing. Cap space be damned.

Makes me reminisce about Ewing and Oak comprising a very complimentary and effective 4-5 combo. Oak was chatting with Frank Isola on lockerblogger.com about this and that, even broached on the topic of players with guns, which I thought was interesting. The Knicks should hire Oak as an assistant so he can infuse our bigs with a little toughness.
