Game Thread: Mavs at Knicks

The Dallas Mavericks haven’t been at their best as they look to finish with a winning record on their road trip.

They’ll finish their five-game trip Sunday when they try to maintain their recent dominance over the New York Knicks.

Dallas (28-15) has split the first four games of this road swing, opening with a 22-point loss to Toronto before wins over Boston and Washington. The Mavericks turned in their lowest-scoring effort in a road game Friday in a 92-81 loss to Philadelphia.

“We have one more game on this trip to make it 3-2,” forward Shawn Marion said. “That can be a good trip and end it on a good note.”

Dirk Nowitzki made 4 of 13 shots for 15 points against the 76ers after averaging 29.2 points on 56.3 percent shooting over his previous five games.

Second-leading scorer Jason Terry was also misfiring. Terry made 2 of 12 shots for four points – his lowest total since he scored four March 25, 2008, against the Clippers.

“We had lapses at the wrong time,” coach Rick Carlisle said.

Marion missed nearly the entire second quarter with a lacerated right hand which needed three stitches. He said he “hurt like hell,” but will keep playing.

Dallas has won seven straight and 14 of its last 15 meetings with New York (17-25). The Mavericks turned their season around in their last visit to Madison Square Garden, a 124-114 overtime victory Nov. 16, 2008.

Dallas entered that game with a 2-7 mark and trailed by seven with 2:28 remaining in regulation before forcing New York to miss its final 14 shots from the field. Nowitzki had 39 points and 15 boards for the Mavericks, who went on to win nine of 10 en route to winning 50 games for the ninth straight season.

The Knicks are playing a second straight Western Conference contender after losing 115-105 to the Lakers on Friday. New York took a lead into the fourth quarter before the reigning NBA champions took control.

“I thought overall we played a good game that we had a chance to win,” coach Mike D’Antoni said.

  • KFFL

If the Knicks can come out with the same intensity they showed against the Lakers, they can very well come away with a win.

How poorly do you think Duhon is going to play tonight?
I’m guessing 4 points, 6 assists, 3 turnovers and 2-7 from the field.

  • BiggieSmalls

    1 PM Start

  • x-man

I agree! Today can be a really really great day. I’ve got my Knicks Bernard King Jersey on, my J-E-T-S jacket on, and my Mets cap on so bring it on today! I think I should take off my Mets cap because I might spoil things!

    Let’s go Jets and Knicks!

Dallas is dying to get home so lets send them to a happy place, let’s send them home…with a loss!

Oh What a great sports day!

  • KFFL

Thanks for the heads up… for some reason I thought the game started at 6. Tommy, how’re you feeling about the game today, and how it’s going to turn out?

  • x-man

No, 6pm is the Jets celebration!

  • BluEandOrange

Lets go Mets! Sign Ben Sheets!

  • BluEandOrange

And LETS GO KNICKS. I need to see this team reach .500 this season. That is my New Year’s resolution.

  • x-man

Aaaaaah you’re getting me all riled up again. don’t make me put back on my Mets cap and then my Knicks and Jets lose today!

I hope we do sign Sheets but he better come with a bigger K-mart discount otherwise Fred Coupon might pass!

  • BiggieSmalls

With Nate out lets hope we see PLENTY of Toney Douglas AND Larry Hughes today.. time to shine boys..

You kow Ned the Wino aint doing crap today with a 1PM start..

  • x-man

After Santana, with all the IFs that have to occur for our starting rotation to be successful, I wouldn’t be surprised to see Doc Gooden on the mound this Spring. If Fred Coupon could get the substance sniffing dog to defer payments to 2012, it’s a done deal, you watch!

  • ds2488

Yes Biggie good point, hopefully a lot of Douglas today. Ned the wino is an awesome nickname for him btw. As always, Duhon sucks.

  • bob go knicks

why would the JETS celebrate a COLTS win?

  • KFFL

    Hopefully. Haha

  • BluEandOrange

If Duhon played tough defense, I would be all for him starting even though his PG skills are supremely lacking. But he doesn’t, so lets see Toney Douglas play now. Larry Hughes starting and Douglas backing him up please.

  • BluEandOrange

Rotoworld is repoting in addition to Kidd, Dampier will also be out. The Knicks MUST win this game now.

  • ds2488

Nice to see Lee get dominated by Drew Gooden early on. Also, Duhon still sucks and this is getting ridiculous that he is still somehow starting and playing minutes. Having no pg is better than Chris Duhon getting significant minutes.

  • ds2488

wow, look at that a pg just hit an open 3. Yay Douglas. Jeffries is finally looking like an nba player on offense this game. Good for him

  • bgstunna

wow JJ with 12 pts in the 1st quarter, not sure if this a good thing or a sign of the apocalypse. nice to to see douglas getting some burn though. but seriously why is duhon still getting all those minutes, it’s like playing with a man down on offense.

  • x-man

Yep, I can’t understand why we are featuring JJ on the offensive end. Do we need him to be our MJJ? He does have a double penny though but this spells trouble!

JJ is doing a good job on Dirk so why put Gallo on him?

  • x-man

Why is that rookie on Dallas getting PT?

  • asumets

Dallas is in love with Beaubois. He’s lighting up today.

  • bgstunna

he’s quick and a good defensive player. plus J Kidd is out for the game

  • ds2488

This is just crazy now. Mavs have hit every shot, we can’t hit one at all. At least we are keeping it somewhat close while this crap is happening. Hopefully it will even out in the 2nd half. Duhon continues to embarrass himself, he really reallly needs to be benched.

  • x-man

Yep, If MJJ gets a double dime, we’re gonna win…or not!

  • traps9

Even if he’s benched, it won’t be for Douglas. God forbid the kid make a few mistakes.

  • x-man

Yep so true! I guess somebody’s gotta be accountable for Duhon poor play!

  • BiggieSmalls

Lmao.. Duhon looks like he is running in quik sand out there

  • x-man

You’re killing me. I was thinking the exact same thing. lmao!

  • BiggieSmalls

And drew gooden looks like hakeem Olajuwon

  • ds2488

LIke usual Lee should be embarrassed…Drew Gooden now has 15 rebounds in the 1st half???

  • x-man

    Please stop it! lol

  • x-man

You and Biggie on the same page!

  • bgstunna

Wow if they would just devote some of that energy to Defense rather than argue with the refs, we might still be in this game.

  • gohard83

yeah but he is over the back on atleast 6 of them.

  • BluEandOrange

Wow look at Gooden today, looking like an All-Star against Lee. Or does David just make everyone he guards look like an All-Star?

Every since Lee and Duhon were reinserted back into the game in the 2nd half, they managed to increase their deficit instead of lowering it.

I think its time to put Douglas and Hill back in, at least they play defense. Duhon and Lee are just as Charles Barkley would say “turrrrrrruble.”

People like to argue that Duhon is effective because he is the Knicks best floor general, well he is not. I actually agreed with Breeny today when he sarcastically commented on how the Knicks finally had a PG that could hit a 3 – pointer in Douglas. Also, Douglas looked good when he came when he made a nice pass to Lee for a pick and pop which David missed and a pick and roll with Hill who ended up traveling. Douglas is quick and looked good out there setting up the pick and roll/pop off the dribble.

Its time to start Douglas and Hill, the best opportunity for the Knicks to win. Time to trade Jeffries with Lee because as Tommy Dee stated, the entire nation undervalues this team. Jeff Foster over Jeffries? I guess that is shocking sentiment the Knicks have to face. If they want to trade Jeffries, Lee will probably have to be included.

  • DaGawD_KnowLedge

i bout JEFFRIES with 14pts to lead all knicks scorers i think
he can go for a career high.

    J
    E
    T
    S

    S
    T
    E
    J

  • BluEandOrange

3rd sentence – meant to say second quarter

  • gohard83

I do agree but you have to admit that we get no calls. If we had one superstar on this team Gooden would have been in foul trouble not to mention the Refs do miss A LOT of calls and this is not just Knicks games I have been saying for about 2 years now that games have not been called good at all.

  • bgstunna

I’m not arguing that we haven’t gotten some calls that we should have, but it annoys the hell out of me when a player is arguing with the refs and that allows the other team an opportunity to play 5 on 4.

  • x-man

You know it! It’s Jets Sunday! It’s time to double up again!

As for our Knicks, we can come back on this team if we played smarter with the intensity we played against LA! We have to box out and guard Hakeem though!

  • LJohnson2k8

Like Biggie and everyone else said, Lee has been great for the Knicks when it comes to scoring and rebounding but it dont impact us in regards to getting wins, his defense sucks and everyone that Lee guards look like All Stars. Today is Drew freakin Gooden. He probably ate his wheaties or he saw Lee was guarding him and said I wanna make the All Star team too lol

  • BiggieSmalls

    Here’s the problem with lee.

He let’s the opposing player just back him down into the blocks and gain positioning in the one on ones

in help D he simply doesn’t . I’ve yet to see him jump on front of a driving player and try to draw a charge–ever

this arguing with the refs crap is starting to be a real problem as well

  • bgstunna

yea we need to pick up our defensive intensity but one thing is that we won’t win if we don’t start being aggressive on offense and driving and hitting some of these open 3′s. 1-11 is just not gonna cut it.

  • BiggieSmalls

Maybe Cuban will think This is JJ’s game and give up Anything expiring for him

  • x-man

Oh man, i just read that! My Jets are gonna put this Manning in the same state as the other by 6pm or so.

It’s a sure thing for the Jets. Get on the bandwagon and be quiet! lol

  • x-man

    So True!

  • bgstunna

Yea Biggie i completely agree, his help D just atrocious, at times he just stands there watching while TD was trying to fight over a screen set by his man and let him have a open shot from the free throw line.

  • BluEandOrange

Completely agree on all those points, especially the last one. Who does Lee think he is to start ripping on the referees all the time? When you don’t play a lick of defense, you don’t deserve to get calls your way.

Jeffries, Lee, and Harrington for Tracy Mcgrady anyone?

  • asumets

DUHON IS TERRIBLE! HE NEEDS TO G-O…GO (sorry for the caps, but he is a punk who should be thrown in jail for robbing the Knicks of $6M)

  • DaGawD_KnowLedge

    lol.

    mayb
    u never know..

  • DaGawD_KnowLedge

how bout this 20pt lead by the mavs?

do u think the knicks can get it down to single digits b4 the 4th?

  • DaGawD_KnowLedge

    how bout JEFFRIES missed layup?

    6’11 an can’t dunk..

  • BiggieSmalls

Now ThAtS the Jared jeffries we all know

come down solo on the break and blows the layup

  • LJohnson2k8

Well Biggie what else can he do. If he goes for a shot and dont get a call he complains if the opposing player gets deep position on him and scores he complains of 3 seconds and if someone gets a rebound off of him and he FEELS its over the back he complains. Lee whines like he is an All Star and he deserves the Superstar calls.

  • BiggieSmalls

Jose barea RIGHT down the lane with Lee just standing at the semi circle

  • asumets

dude is are leading scorer at the half. at least he is doing something on both ends of the floor today, unlike Lee and that pudgy dough boy Duhon.

Couple more games with JJ dropping 12-15 and he will be out of here real quick.

  • BluEandOrange

Barea just drove to the hole without any help defenders from the Knicks stepping up; yes, I’m talking to you David Lee. As the center, you need to at least try and protect your domain. Lee’s game is way too flimsy on the defensive end for a New Yorker like me to appreciate.

  • bgstunna

Barrea uncontested layup right down the lane, this is just getting embarrassing. wow. and JJ is regressing to the mean again on offense ugh. but where have chandler and Gallo been? they have been just passive

  • x-man

lmao. That’s a great pt! MJJ is for real! Make us a trade we can’t refuse anyone!

  • DaGawD_KnowLedge

how much are the knicks going to be down by after the 3rd
an how much do u think the knicks will lose by?

  • BluEandOrange

The best part of all of this is despite the lead growing ever more, D’Antoni does nothing about it. Doesn’t change the lineup to get a more conducive unit going.
Just like the Knicks plan this year, which is to wait for Duhon to spontaneously find himself and lead the Knicks to the playoffs, D’Antoni is waiting for this team to suddenly start hitting shots. Its insanity my friends.

  • BluEandOrange

YES! Toney Douglas is in. At least I have something to look forward to now. Gallinari, Hill, Chandler, and Douglas are the only players that I have hope in now.

  • pedro

Dallas is hitting everything much like the lakers. Lee’s defense is what it is, bad. In a championship team he can’t play at 5, you need a shot blocker. sorry..

I’m out like Jim Mora. Playoffs? i hope the Knicks can win another game.. Summer of 2010..

    trade Jeffries.

  • x-man

Yep, If your team doesn’t put out the effort, this is where the coach puts the starters on the bench and let the bench or young players play to send a message.

The coach should not accept this especially at home after playing with better intensity against LA. It’s rather embarrassing now!

  • BiggieSmalls

Good point.. Has he rotated ONE player in??

    Oh.. Here comesTD.. Bout time

  • DaGawD_KnowLedge

    o sh*t is that a doug sighting
let me out on my glasses

    lmao

  • x-man

It’s called h-o-r-s-e when no one is guarding ya!

  • BluEandOrange

Jason Terry hits a fade away three and then Harrington comes back and chucks a three trying to answer back even though they are down 32. Please play Hill instead of Harrington. Please, save this game D’Antoni, please.

And now Bender goes in instead of Hill. This is absolutely atrocious coaching.

  • BluEandOrange

Check this out guys. Right after Harrington throws up a prayer three, D’Antoni subs Jeffries – THE BEST DEFENDER ON THE TEAM – and puts in Bender. Wow, just wow. There are no words for this.

  • BiggieSmalls

Ok seriously … It’s JJfreakin Barea!!!!!

He is MAYbe 6 foot… Knock him the f#%^ down

  • DaGawD_KnowLedge

    almost by 40

i think the knicks can lose this game by 50

  • bgstunna

yes thank you, before this gets even more embarrassing, show some pride in defending your home court.

  • BiggieSmalls

I’m disgusted by this team .. Well be down 40 soon

  • x-man

Yeah dude! I’m turning this mess off now because it’s bringing me down before my Jets play! Gotta think positive now!

This is a very sad performance by our team and coach!

  • josh h

OK. We are going to get blown out by over 40 points tonight. Its going to be another record game at the Garden! The Knicks just want this gamer to be over so they can watch a real life winning New York team (the Jets.)

Knicks suck. Bender sucks, Lee’s defense sucks, Al sucks, Jeffries was our leading scorer which sucks.

  • BluEandOrange

This is where the Knicks need a Larry Johnson or Starks to take somebody on the Mavericks out. Maybe a flagrant foul or some sort on Nowitzki or Terry to send a message. The Knicks cannot allow this to continue. If they are not going to instill fear in the Mavericks with their offense – god knows they cant – they are going to need to put a beat down on somebody. I’m not talking about a shot to the head, but something has to be done to make the Mavericks scared.

I’m sorry about losing by 36 is disgraceful.

  • DaGawD_KnowLedge

this is literally practice for the mavs

  • BluEandOrange

What ever happened to Knicks pride?

  • DaGawD_KnowLedge

honestly no1 is a keeper on this team..

  • BiggieSmalls

But another double double for NYC’s all star

oMG — there goes golden again.. Have some pride !!!!

  • BluEandOrange

How many times has Breen said “and Harrington misses.”?

  • DaGawD_KnowLedge

every1 on this team should be on the trade block

  • BluEandOrange

Wtf D’Antoni? You put in Landry before Jordan HIll? Thats it, I lost all respect for D’Antoni now.

  • DaGawD_KnowLedge

    lmao

  • DaGawD_KnowLedge

i never had respect for him as a coach never did.

  • BluEandOrange

Lets not go over the edge. This game is disgusting no doubt, mostly due to D’Antoni’s inability to adjust, a trait that you MUST own as a NY coach, but the young kids can learn from this losing to become better. They need to taste their own blood before they can truly want to win. If they ever do learn from this debacle is up to them, but this can be a good experience for them.

The “them” I am talking about are Douglas, Hill, Gallinari, and Chandler.

Its time to make the move Donnie. I know you have to try and get the best out of your players in trade, but its time to move the old guys to let the young kids play. Do whatever it takes to rid Jeffries and Curry without giving up the young kids. If it takes trading Lee for nothing in return then so be it.

  • Mucha

    43 point deficit.

    At the Garden.

    ROTFL.

  • DaGawD_KnowLedge

well i think the knicks can lose by 50

  • josh h

a double double in a blow out means NOTHING! He can be an all star all he wants, but ive watched JJ Barea tip toe past him all game and he does absolutely nothing but complain to the officials. David Lee is a huge bitch! Ron Artest needs to slap this kid and make him tough.

  • BluEandOrange

omg. 3 minutes into the 4th quarter and still no Jordan Hill sighting. Yet, Duhon and Harrington are still on the court. D’Antoni = Stupid

  • DaGawD_KnowLedge

i’m not going over the edge

no1 has star written on them
    only LEE has potential

    chandler is ok
    gallo the same

but mayb if the knicks had a better coach.

who knows but from what i know no1 on the knicks is a keep

    mayb the rookies.

  • BiggieSmalls

The double double is the most ridiculously over rated stat.
    It means nothing

  • BluEandOrange

All of the good progress from December thrown away in one game. How long until Donnie make’s the bold move and trades the players blocking the growth of Hill and Douglas?

Look at the Knicks now. Down by almost 50 in the fourth with David Lee, YES that David Lee, sulking on the bench. I thought he was an All-Star.

At least the Knicks play the Raptors on Tuesday. I can only hope Douglas and Hill will be in the starting lineup then.

  • BiggieSmalls

That’s whap happens when u play real teams with real all stars in the game

and Kid. Isn’t playing.. The way he likes to rub it in when he plays here we’d be doubled up right now

  • pedro

they should be sent to Siberia. disgraceful, u can’t lose like this in front of your fans.

    Have some f******** dignity… s***

  • BluEandOrange

Tripucka and Breen are talking about how the Knicks are playing a playground game and that is why they are losing. That is a HUGE insult to Duhon who is still on the court.

Duhon is not creating any offense for this team AT ALL. Take him out of the starting lineup PLEASE.

And is I type this Duhon spins into a double team and the Knicks turn the ball over via shot clock violation. DUHON SUCKS.

  • DaGawD_KnowLedge

ok do u think u knicks will lose by 60?

  • BluEandOrange

I plan on watching the rest of this game because I want to see the various camera shots of D’Antoni’s anguished face. This is what he gets for not adjusting the roster in the 3rd quarter when the Mavericks ran away with it. D’Antoni messed up this game big time. We all knew Duhon was playing like crap and Harrington couldn’t shoot. But he still played them and look at the score now.

    Way to go Mike!

  • pedro

Hill and Douglas shouldn’t be playing. Mike should let some of the starters rot in the floor. let them take the humiliation. it’s not the rookies fault they’re down by 50. let the vets in..

  • Mucha

Jonathan Bender is a poor man’s Al Harrington ROTFL

  • BluEandOrange

Now the Knicks are going to be 9 games under .500. Almost as bad as the 11 games under entering December.

If the Knicks lose on Tuesday, thats 10 games under. Its time to rebuild Donnie, the playoffs are out of reach.

Come to think of it, its hard to pull off two goals at the same time. Walsh traded away Crawford and Randolph with the intentions of going for it this summer. Yet, D’Antoni has his sights on the playoffs now. Its awfully hard to win when you have two different goals from management. Either you put your eggs all in basket, or you will fail miserably in trying to juggle multiple endeavors at once.

    And this is Knicks basketball.

  • BluEandOrange

Couldn’t agree with you more. Where is Tommy Dee and the rest of the folks at TKB commenting on this debacle. Maybe they are hiding from this tragedy.

Tommy Dee was arguing the other day how he didn’t want Hill to develop bad habits, well this is one way to develop terrible habits: playing in a game where you are losing by almost 60. You put Hill and Douglas in where they can compete, not when they are in lopsided contests.

Put Harrington, Duhon, Lee, and the rest of the motley crew in without rest to take all of the heat. D’Antoni is a mess.

  • DatNewYorker

I’ll take that but i dont know if any GM would. All the players on the rockets play defense. Lee would not fit in. He sure would not even start. But that’s our ALLSTAR.

  • BluEandOrange

MSG. Where the worst home loss in Knicks franchise history happens.

MSG. Where the greatest deficit of the season happens.

Can’t wait for the fallout of this masterpiece by the Knickerbockers.

  • BluEandOrange

Biggie was being sarcastic. But that Ron Artest needs to slap a bitch line was funny.

  • Mucha

At one point Hughes and Harrington were laughing (on the bench) in the 4th quarter. I’m sure Stephon Marbury needs company in China!

  • BluEandOrange

Lee has reached his ceiling. And he cannot play defense. Not an All-Star in my book.

Chandler has the ability to be a good piece for a championship team. I’d still give the benefit of the doubt to Gallinari. I give stars until their 3rd season to emerge – such as David West, Kevin Martin, Carl Landry, Carlos Boozer, etc – and Gallinari still has next season to breakout. Douglas looks like a solid role player on a team with the potential to be a solid Ward type of player.

Jordan Hill has the greatest talent on the Knicks IMO. He has the low post moves already and his quality mid-range game is something Knicks management should take pride in.

If Knicks management ever grows up and allows their legends such as Clyde and Ewing to teach the young kids as the Lakers do with Abdul Jabbar, these rookies could reach a higher ceiling.

  • josh h

such a disgrace. I dont blame D-Antoni at all. How could you blame a coach for having a team full of bench players? How do people expect the Knicks to be such a great team when our starting PG is Chris Duhon! That says it all. The Knicks are just a bad team.

Ron Artest said the other day that the Knicks need a superstar. We need Jesus Christ himself to actually make this team a .500 team. We need Lebron and Jesus to bring us to the playoffs.

  • HaS

At some point Lee’s offensive game has to overshadow his lack of defense. He is helping us win games.

Not exact words but basically the sentiment I’ve read here in regards to _avi_’s defense.

  • BluEandOrange

That is what hurts the most. These Knicks do not seem to care. Tommy Dee made the point that these Knicks are not the 90s Knicks we grew to love. That is so true. And that is what makes it so much more painful.

  • BluEandOrange

That should be the new Knicks slogan.

    Knicks. Jesus. 2010. Get Ready.

  • josh h

ugh this was the worst loss in Knicks history! At least I’m not a Nets fan.

  • HaS

He can’t do everything. He needs the other 4 players to step on defense so that he concentrate on everything else. What do you expect him to wash the player’s balls after the game too?

He seemed as if he were looking forward to washing Barea’s balls since he had such a good view of them while he glided to the basket.

  • HaS

    BWAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA!!!

  • run-tmc

That was some spiffy prognostication, Gawd.
    Gotta give it to you.

  • HaS

Dolan must be itching to axe _’antoni for this one! It should have been on national TV. This guy isn’t going to last past next year if they don’t get LeBron.

I, for one, won’t be sorry to see him go.

    I hate this coach.

  • Mucha

Yeah and I can’t wait to see these guys wearing other uniforms.

    They should be traded ASAP.

  • BiggieSmalls

Don’t forget that Lee is still responsible foe complAining to the refs too

    he can’t do EVERYTHoNG!!

Leave David Lee Alone … Wahhhhh

  • run-tmc

    Today’s Times:
“Knicks Succeed by Selling an Intangible: Hope.”

  • Mucha

I won’t blame the coach for the lack of effort.

They were pathetic, I mean Jared Jeffries – I repeat, JARED JEFFRIES – was the best Knick on the floor. Telling.

  • BiggieSmalls

I hope they take some pride in their home court and knock someone down in the paint

  • run-tmc

    People talking about Jesus.
    I wanna know -
    What would Oakley Do?

  • CircleLimit4

But Jesus doesn’t attack the rim enough and get to the line. If we get enough cap space for two max contracts we should pair him with someone who can drive the lane, like Moses. That muthaf*cka can part the seas.

  • BiggieSmalls

There woulda been bloody lips on both sides

worse loss in team history.. They just said it

    contrAts boys

  • josh h

the Oak man would have put these little btiches in check. He sure as hell wouldnt let David Lee anywhere near the hoop if he wasnt planning on BLOCKING A SHOT! or putting up any defense.

  • run-tmc

Duhon = 7 games in a row with 4 or less.
Combined 6 of 40 from the field in that stretch.

  • CircleLimit4

What??? Did you see Al Harrington’s wide open 3 point airball early in the 4th? D’antoni told him to airball it. Totally all his fault.

  • Mucha

I feel bad for the crowd – like the Clinton-Bush Haiti fund, they should reimburse $1’000 per missed shot and turnovers.

  • Mucha

    LOL

  • HaS

This game should been on Friday Night Knicks, they could have had 50 Cent as the musical performance.

Matchups and deficit of raw talent were factors in this game. But what this loss exposed was the Knicks complete lack of leadership, top to bottom. D’antoni flat out failed to inspire any sort of fight today. The lack of leadership on the floor is an even more glaring. David Lee and Al Harrington seemed complacent to say the least. i guess that’s what happens when all your locker room leaders are having trouble seeing themselves on the team next year.

“i guess that’s what happens when all your locker room leaders are having trouble seeing themselves on the team next year”

Which is still not an excuse.

Al Harrington will never be a leader because he’s a one-dimensional chucker who’ll never earn respect from his teammates since he never passes the ball. David Lee plays no defense whatsoever, he clearly doesn’t lead by example on both ends of the court. And Chris Duhon sucks. I don’t think they are strong enough from a psychological standpoint and from a pure basketball standpoint to lead this team.

Man Jason Kidd would have been such a great addition.

  • Chris Alvino

    Yes he would have been…

    Lols. You made my day.

@ CircleLimit4, You hit the nail right on it’s head man, NO LEADERSHIP!

The Knick’s captain pg is a sad joke! They all were playing with no passion today, and even worst NO HEART! And the Cat that so many love to hate “N8″, the one who plays with passion, heart, and real balls so many want to get rid of! Lets see how many games the Knicks win without N8 this time !!!

duhon sucks now? didn’t you say he was our “captain” for a while now?

what are we going with next week? “best backup point guard in the league?”

btw, duhon does suck. just about as much as bender and harrington.

  • Mucha

Listen, I don’t know what you’re talking about. Duhon has always been a scrub from my POV – I just said that he is the captain which is a fact.

What is that?they’ve been losing for years!KNICKS PRIDE?Did you just make that up?

  • bob go knicks

How come nobody gets on Donnie Walsh, not only for the signing of DUHON 2 years ago,but after a whole season with this scrub running the offense,Walsh doesnt go out and get PG help

i read Mucha, Gavin D and of course Biggie’s blog. It’s great – I learn so much from you guys-
    this is my brief opinion

these guys live like KINGS-are paid MILLIONS of dollars. Its all gimmes-
    WTF?
    This is a joke…right?
Coach can create only SO much out of these guys(lemons). He’s reached his breaking point, honestly.BTW I think his wife is on this blog- under an alias.
with any losing team, this always happens around the seasons halfway point when they think they’re going to get traded- they start playing crappy. Well no-one expected THISCRAPPY- again..THESE GUYS LIVE LIKE KINGS!! To us fans- it’s OUR team.To them it’s just a contract- to play “basketball”-
No D Lee got his 8mil+ for keeping his mouth shut about Starbury & Isiah. Not for his play.He was rewarded-now he;s playing for a contract and ONLY a contract.

Anyone remember when Jeter had to EARN his contract?Well, not in the NBA:..1 example:all you have to be is tall ,get knocked down and have an idiotic pout on your face- with some sembelance of knowing how to do ONE THING…(JJ)-remember the old Knicks motto? NO EASY LAY-UPS. They used to play their man close-now they stand 2 feet away-
Man,Isiah really screwed us. Dolan takes blame too. Thats why he doesn’t talk to the press.Too embarrassed- He put’s DW in charge- DW says BE PATIENT! It’sgoing to take some time folks. So now we have to take it up the ass until July 2010 and quite possibily 2011 (EC & JJ bye-bye)-thats IF we get some talent- NO LBJ is NOT coming here, imo he wants to be Governor of Ohio and have schools and highways named after him. So forget it. I’ll be shocked if im wrong. There willbe no trades, nobody wants LOSERS- between bird rights and bad contracts were screwed. Period. So we get pumped when they win (against mediocre teams) and get our dose of REALITY when they lose. I feel ( a teeny bit)bad for the guys who play and feel it matters- but …who are they? the ones that care? Its confusing. These guys who could give a shit? Smiling in the 4th Q…skip to the loo – YOU SUCK!! I can’t wait till they pink slip your ass out w an old bag O balls. And Gallo is starting to bug me. Little by little he starting to watch No D Lee and thinking “yeah, just let em shoot” – Imkeeping my eye on him. Nice shot but..he dribbles like AH20 and defends like No Dlee-
Were going to continue to watch and ride the wave and BLOG. and read all the speculation….and wait till July….when we dropped these “pros” and they can’t get 1.2 from anybody- then we’ll all have a laugh- Im with the plan DW and i’ll give MDA 1 more year- he needs to work on better sub. decisions-
    yeah huh!
