Marc Spears Has an Opinion

by Tommy Dee on February 19th, 2010 at 6:26 pm

“They’re going to be able to bring about four or five guys in, because none of those max guys are coming,” Spears told Gary Tanguay. “They’re going to get some middle-of-the-range chumps.

Now, Yahoo Sports were the stars of the deadline, but not sure I quite get the conviction. As we all know, no one really knows.

    haters gonna hate

  • callamari

could these guys be anymore unintelligent and biased?

  • barnaby8787

LOL, joe johnson loves d’antoni and has complained about the hawks play about a month or two back. I would at least expect him to want to come here.

  • Magik_Trick

Marc Spears is a punk, hes the same type of person that when we do land Lebron James he;ll be saying “Yes, I always knew he’d go to NY”

Cant wait till Lebron laughs in all there faces…

  • DaGawD_KnowLedge

    i already know this
    thats why i always type
    Z-BO AN CRAW 2.0
    on there way..

  • barnaby8787
  • harris

    Who is Marc Spears?

  • Hydr0

If 2.0 means they will be upgrades to those guys…I’ll take ‘em

  • traps9

    This is true.

  • Dave the Rave

    He’s Joe Blow and he’s fulla crap ; )

One big star will sign and then the floodgates will open.

Money talks. The refurbished MSG will rock. And NYC will be the destination for pro hoops in the 2010s. Bank on it!

  • BluEandOrange

    Exactly

  • bbaakk06

amazing…did any of these characters even graduate from high school? someone fund ‘em an education please…

  • HaS

I think anyone who isn’t biased can admit the argument for LeBron to stay in Cleveland is a lot stronger than the one for him to join the Knicks.

  • clyde fan

Chris Carlin was hosting on WFAN todayand said he was told that there was already contact with LBJ’s camp and there is a great chance he will be a Knick along with Bosh. He said he knows what NY could do for him.

    So who knows !!

  • knicks2010

These guys are morons, the only people who are overpaid, are these idiots!!!! Keep hating

  • HaS

What is his camp supposed to say though? The controversy is selling sneakers and helping to keep his name out there in the media even more if he weren’t a free agent.

    Advertising 101.

  • DinnerDog

Don’t know if anyone posted this, but here is an INTELLIGENT look at the Knicks upcoming offseason plans:

  • DaGawD_KnowLedge

but mightn’t be better might have the same skills
    an produce the same
    just with different attitudes..

  • Hydr0

True, but these guys act as if they are sure that none of the great players will come to ny this summer. That is as foolish as someone that says Lebron and Bosh are definitely coming here, no doubt. They sound like amateurs.

  • giantg

No one knows what will happen this summer regarding the elite FA’s and I understand the skepticism regarding NY’s ability to lure talent from better talented teams but I seriously doubt Walsh will award the team’s hard earned money on long term contracts for average talent. I would expect a better balanced team with complementary pieces. At the end of the day that is the freedom that Walsh has received for the draft picks he traded away.

  • Hydr0

It would also carry some weight if lebron’s camp actually said it or there was an actual name attached to a quote. A radio host claiming that he heard from someone else that they were told people that know lebron said there was a great chance…it’s meaningless

  • Hydr0

yeah, I hear ya…ZBO and Craw are both great players. Personally, I think Bosh and Joe Johnson are slightly better than both of them. I assume those are the guys to whom you refer.

  • bob go knicks

EFF LBJ He’ll never sign here,(as long as i have a say in it)

  • italian stallion

Getting Joe Johnson is actually one of the bad scenarios unless he comes with Lebron. Johnson is primarily just a scorer, but he’s not even an especially efficient one. I’m not saying he’s a bad player, but he’s overrated and if the Knicks paid up for him because they couldn’t land Lebron or Wade, it would be a HUGE ERROR! If we use a big chunk of this cap money on Johnson, it was a bad summer.

  • italian stallion

    Excellent article.

  • italian stallion

This almost sounds like tampering of some sort. I really doubt a conversation like that took place unless it was in theoretical terms.

  • JLS125

That was the most balanced article I’ve read thus far with regards to 2010 FA. Thanks for posting that link…

  • Myles A. Mills

Um, that was embarrassing. These guys don’t seem to understand the concept. Just because you have the money doesn’t mean you have to spend it all in 2010.

  • Knick4life

guys dont pay these charles barkley and kenny smith wanna bees any mind LOL

  • gbaked

“nobody wants to go play for NY”

    ummm… TMac did.

  • UpstateNY28

LOL this guy is sucha hater look at him and his oger face lookin all hungry ….hes just jealous that no one even knows who the hell he is …i like how he says no one wants to go to NY if that were true then lebron would have already resigned so u know hes considering it because he sure as hell aint going to any of the other teams with max cap space

  • Ftingue

These Boston fans are just scared. How you gonna tell me what Lebron is gonna do. Its as if they forgot that a couple of years ago no one really wanted to play in Boston. On the real what are they reading almost every big name players lights up when asked about NY. I hate these Boston Bandwagon fans so much I can’t wait to watch the Cs get beat this summer. Cuz every knows they just the 2008 version of the Pistons. One Championship and done.
