Recap: Spurs 97 Knicks 87

by Tommy Dee on March 10th, 2010 at 11:02 pm

BOX SCORE

Despite wretched shooting, the Knicks were only down four points with a shade over 5 minutes to play.

The team all night didn’t have an answer for Manu Ginobili or Tim Duncan which isn’t a surprise so Mike D’Antoni decided to mix things up down the stretch and it made a huge difference. The team went zone one possession and got a stop, next time down they allowed David Lee to guard Duncan one on one and Duncan missed. Then after an Al Harrington miss, the Knicks decided to double Duncan and that brought the game to 1.

Then as the story has been all year, the Knicks just couldn’t get a defensive rebound  and after Al Harrington missed a 3 and that was all she wrote. Spurs went 11-3 to finish the game.

And let me know if this sounds familiar.

The Knicks were out rebounded, on a sloppy night, 53-34 in total, and 13-5 on the offensive glass.

And they were putrid from 3 as they just took terrible shots all night long.

Toney Douglas is a real solid NBA defender already, although he got beat back door on a big play, but he’s a guy that is going to give headaches to opposing PGs once he settles into his role of being a solid guard coming off the bench.

  • craigamus83

Why wasn’t Will in the game during crunch time? I’m not sayin we woulda won be his D woulda helped smh. One of the reasons I can’t stand this guy as a coach…Harrington didnt shoot the ball well and had 4 fouls. I just dont get it.

  • oscar f

Yo Ginoboli got game!!!!!!! He still plays young at a high level. Amazing! If the knicks dont get 2 max platers he would be a good look.

  • DaGawD_KnowLedge

is this fool of a coach going to give doug 30+ minz b4 the end of the season or he still thinks they can make the playoffs?

let doug do him i rather see doug taking over a game than AL the garbage azz player..

  • oscar f

I hear you . He has some dumb strategy.

  • DaGawD_KnowLedge

the knicks can make any1 look good

  • DaGawD_KnowLedge

the coach has killed the young guys confidence
    he did a while ago..

  • oscar f

No Ginoboli has looked good since starting.

  • ds2488

It is an absolutely life altering experience to watch Chucketts on a nightly basis. This guy is absolutely unbelievable..he takes more ridiculous shots than I would expect from a an 18 year old streetballer rookie. Absolutely the worst team basketball player I have ever seen. Just incredible and so damning to Mike Dantoni that this guy has not been benched permanently. Also, Dlee has turned into quite a ballhog and Tmac dominating the ball is just killing the team. He was awful tonight and made it impossible for the team to have any type of offensive continuity. Just incredible. Didn’t realize Sergio turned into a shoot-first pg, he was miserable and looked for his own shot every possesion. Just terrible.

  • bb_dot

2 of 17 from 3-point land. What’s with the shooting futility lately? This is the ONE thing this team was supposed to be good at…

  • oscar f

I would like to see Chucketts mins reduced and House’s mins reduced as a pg. Let the youth play!!

  • DaGawD_KnowLedge

yea the guy can ball no doubt about it

  • oscar f

No the team needs more plays going to the basket . Plays other than PnR. Its so predictable.

  • DaGawD_KnowLedge

    it’s the system.
the best system in the world

  • bb_dot

must be the New York weather! remember the first game House, TMac and Sergio played in the garden? They were all on their best behavior and some of us were even fooled to feel some hope. They shared the ball, they seemed to have energy and chemistry although they had not played together.

You look at them now and they all turned into ball hogs. Sergio cant find an open player if he stands next to him! TMac’s bounces the ball between his legs until even the slowest defense is set and House cant hit the side of a barn! 2 for 17 for crying out loud!

  • Boots

Had trouble getting a continuous stream tonight so viewing was disjointed. Maybe a good thing.

    Did I miss Curry’s debut?

  • DaGawD_KnowLedge

it’s about time there is like 18 more games to go
an this fool=the coach can’t let the youth go at it but like i said
he thinks the team can still make the 8 seed

  • oscar f

    He didn’t play

  • bb_dot

..the team needs many things. But more than anything they need a leader on the floor and coach on the bench.

  • DaGawD_KnowLedge

i say don’t resign any1 thats a free agent just go out an find better players
    t-mac is done
    his chapter is closed

  • Boots

Okay, I guess coach didn’t want to mess with the synchronicity in a tight game. /

  • DaGawD_KnowLedge

    yea he played
    he played
WHAT WOULD U DO FOR A KLONDIKE BAR

  • swtnes34

Has Al ever, ever stepped up to make a defensive stop? Heaven forbid he try to draw a charge!

  • harris

How funny is that? There’s Mike D’ continuing to alienate people (not that Curry is owed anything, to be fair).

  • harris

Does Al know what a “defensive stop” is? That’s why he plays so much-he’s perfect for “the system”.

  • SilentJay

And D’antoni and his coaching and mentoring ways had no influence in that?
    Hmmmm…..
Harrington having the ball at crunchtime is truly awful to watch.

  • bb_dot

    synchronicity? that’s a good one..

Yep, Eddy would have messed with the fluid ball movement and all the bullet passes.. lol

  • bb_dot

Al almost stumbled and broke his feet at the move Manu pulled on him before sinking the dagger.. that was priceless

  • SilentJay

This offensive coordinator’s clipboard is completely empty, besides his innovtive P&R and pioneering P&Pop I really don’t see any alternatives.
    Outstanding….
Defensively, well, the tough thing being a Knick player right now is that whatever hustle you make (Toney D) gets shattered when the rest of the team doesn’t apply the same pressure, or just doesn’t try to get over screens….
Does DW ever watch these games so he can fully understand who he’s paying so much money to?

  • SilentJay

    +1

  • ds2488

I really can’t get over how bad Harrington is. It is so crazy that he has never been benched..its like he gets rewarded by Dantoni for being absolutely the worst team basketball player ever. He can’t shoot, can’t dribble, can’t play d, can’t pass, can’t box out, can’t rebound, can’t move his feet, can’t blend into the offense. He brings nothing of value to the game except for getting his 18 points on 30 shots. He kills the younger players on the team who stand and watch him. I would pay to have him go to the Lakers, I would become their biggest fan just to see Kobe go nuts on Chucketts and watch as the Zen Master became a raging alcoholic at the sight of Chucketts destroying his beloved triangle offense. Is there any team stupid enough to pay this guy any money at all?

  • bb_dot

that’s exactly right. Individual hustle plays are not only not rewarded but punished by someone sleeping and not switching. So now everybody is afraid to leave their man and the middle is wide open for uncontested layups. Usually someone help defends too late just to deliver a stupid hand foul to get the opponent another 1 point gift. Seriously how many times have seen this happen? this is not on the coach??

  • barnaby8787

Bill walker had one shot in 21 minutes and he had to force it up to beat the shot clock…that’s passing the ball around guys…

  • harris

“Is there any team stupid enough to pay this guy any money at all?”

Hmm… I can think of at least one right off the top of my head.

  • BluEandOrange

And with this loss, James Dolan has cemented himself in history as being responsible for the worst Knick era in franchise history with 9 straight losing seasons. This has never been done before my friends. Congratulations Dolan!

Is it so hard to build a good team? You need a 7+ footer who can defend the paint by having good shot blocking ability and low post defense with an offensive game as a plus, a 6′ 9″ – 6′ 11″ power forward with decent lateral movement who can post up and create shots for himself down low while being a solid help defender, a 6′ 6″ – 6′ 8″ (a player like Travis Outlaw being the exception) small forward with solid speed who can catch-and-shoot, a shooting guard 6′ 5″ – 6′ 6″ (Wade being the exemplary exception) who can play consistent defense and shoot the ball, and a point guard with agility to create plays for his teammates off the dribble.

I’d be happy with a starting lineup of Spencer Hawes as center, Jarvis Varnado at the 4, Gallinari at 3, Chandler as the 2, and Kyle Lowry at the 1. Yes, I’m actually high on Lowry because he has good court vision and is a superb defender.

Pairing Lowry with Douglas would be extremely valuable to the Knicks.

The Knicks have a middle of the order 2nd round pick from Boston which they could use to get much needed size in Jerome Jordan or Dexter PIttman. Hopefully Donnie can buy a pick and bring in either Greivis Vazquez or Da’Sean Butler to add some 2 guard and SF depth.

My problem is that the Knicks aren’t really in a rebuilding stage. Walsh essentially threw two years away not to rebuild, but to go for it all again by betting all of his chips in one year. People voicing out that D’Antoni won’t stand for Walsh to not acquire at least Johnson or Bosh are absolutely right.

Thats why I believe D’Antoni should be fired after this season to mitigate the losses. I’d like to see a coaching staff with Ewing as head coach with Mark Jackson, Oakley, and Starks as assistants to allow real redevelopment.

Its time to rebuild for real. Quick fixes are not the answer for this team.

Let a new coach grow with a young team and together learn from experience and hopefully become the team NY can be proud of.

  • harris

That’s your “7 seconds or less” offense at its best.

  • PipeDreamin

David Lee looking like a shmuck, dunking the ball with 7 second left, and no one guarding you.

“as David Lee just adds to his points total…” – Mike Breen

  • SilentJay

Yet Al was supposed to be perfect for “D’antoni ball”….yey!
    Damn.

  • Boots

Great example: Gallo makes agreat block and the rest of his team is already running the other way, assumig that it would automatically be a made basket.

Result: Nobody to box out and get the ball. San Antonio gets the ball and dunks it.

  • ds2488

lol. We didn’t pay him, just took on his ridiculous contract to get rid of Crawford’s ridiculous contract. Im talking about after this year..if any team is dumb enough to even sign this guy they are asking for a complete disaster. He will destroy any team and any continuity..he is that unbelievably bad.

  • Boots

That’s getting the ball to his strength: Moving to the hoop.

  • Boots

    Ooops!
Should be below the Walker comment.

  • bb_dot

oh man. i tried to forget that.. What an awful sight! I also recall a loose ball and DLee or someone running away from it like it carried the plague..

  • SilentJay

Many still use the “these aren’t his horses” excuse to justify the mere lack of disciplined ball.
And it goes beyond that, I didn’t see a team tonight. I saw 5 guys playing at completely deffierent paces, out of all possible synch, just trying to get buckets via mid rangers, 3′s (that ain’t falling at this point) and the occasional 1 on 5 run to the basket (Buckets style).
Sure, blame is on players, but players execute what their coach says, or doesn’t say.
Personally, If I was a GM knowing that the coach I hired wasn’t applying all his strength into getting the best of the pieces he has, I would run him out of town.
But hey, at least he’ll be on the pressure cooker next season.

  • harris

I completely agree, but as far as after this year-don’t put anything past this franchise.

  • DVJ

Somebody get some of these guys a box of Kleenex!!!!!

It’s 12 AM and your still wearing your skirts?
I’ve never seen a bunch of people cry and complain the way some here have been recently.

  • bb_dot

Yeah. that argument is not cutting it anymore. I fully disclose that I was very excited to get D’Antoni. I truly believed that we would see some real improvement this year and at least a spirited fight for the 8 spot.

But hey, fool me once shame on you, fool me twice…

It looks like has given up on the team. Seriously, that’s how it looks like to me. As if he feels it’s not worth the effort at this point…

  • ds2488

haha. Yeah, what could us crybabys possibly have to complain about? lol.

  • bb_dot

yeah, why complain? let’s talk about all the great things surrounding this team instead.

  • ds2488

“Don’t put anything past this franchise”

Right on. I am so worried we will resign Harrington and lee although I really don’t think even DW is dumb enough to do that. I hope not. You really can’t put anything past this franchise.

  • DVJ

“haha. Yeah, what could us crybabys possibly have to complain about? lol.”

    Exactly

  • DVJ

“yeah, why complain? let’s talk about all the great things surrounding this team instead.”

I would love to talk about that all night long.

Quick question…did any of you have the Knicks picked to win this game?

We lost by 10 points. Did we not compete?

Did any of you have the Knicks picked to win more than 30-35 games this year?

The comments I’m seeing, if I didn’t know any better….I would think we had a playoff team.

  • DVJ

“David Lee looking like a shmuck, dunking the ball with 7 second left, and no one guarding you.”

He could have just given the Spurs the ball and let them attempt a full court shot. That would’ve been better right?

  • bb_dot

No i didnt pick us to win tonight. But seeing how bad the Spurs played we could have very easily stolen this one. But we collapse, we falter, we choke. True or not?

And no, we don’t have a playoff team but rather than playing better as the season progresses we play worse. True or not?

I much rather talk about positive things than whine.. but unless you start with a good example (did we not compete ain’t cutting it) I will hang on to the Kleenex…

  • ds2488

How about that awful Cavs team without Lebron? They were able to beat this team. The fact of the matter is that while no one expected this team to be a playoff team(actually thats not even true some people did), I expected Dantoni to get the most out of this crap roster and for the team to remain remotely competitive while devoting a lot of his efforts to player development. None of those things have happened. I fully supported DW’s plan but these last 2 years have been a giant failure, with him not doing his job to address key deficiencies in our roster to remain competititve like he wanted to do. Him and Dantoni have done miserable jobs so far, but I am prepared to forgive them come next year. However, these last 2 years have been a complete train wreck and now I have very little patience come next year.

  • bb_dot

“However, these last 2 years have been a complete train wreck and now I have very little patience come next year.”

Let’s not forget the seven years before that either. This train wreck reaches way back. Sure that’s not on Donnie or D’Antoni but it sure has an effect on my patience..

And when I read about some of you saying that acquiring JJ would be enough to make us a contender and worthwhile the suffering I really wonder…

  • prettyToney

I guess D’antoni feels he owes it to a vet like Al to let him try and get his in this “lost” season, its to bad. Theres no other explanation for it.

Gay had a huge game tonight, he might be the guy we come away with.

  • italian stallion

    My sentiments exactly.

  • SilentJay

And that’s not a coach. The mere message that it sends to the players is terrible, it’s saying to his team that “it’s ok to give up”.
I too was on board with having D’antoni here, it was fun to see his brand of ball and thought he would bring an uplift to this team’s game.
But these past 2 season have done nothing but show that this guy just doesn’t cut it with just decent players that are either beginning to develop, or getting to that next plateau in their careers (Lee is trying to become an all-star although he’ll never get it without playing D, T-Mac is in that transition that older players with heavy injuries must apply to their games, Douglas is a rookie trying to get his feel for the NBA, etc).
D’antoni has shown many flaws not only in his coaching abilities, but in his own character, which cannot be attractive or positive going into the future.

  • DVJ

“No i didnt pick us to win tonight. But seeing how bad the Spurs played we could have very easily stolen this one. But we collapse, we falter, we choke. True or not?”

Wait, Wait…so if you didn’t pick us to win tonight, no matter how bad the Spurs have been playing….you shouldn’t be surprised by the final result. Is it true that we collapsed and faltered down the stretch? Sure it is…but isn’t that to be expected since we’ve been doing it the past 10 years? LOL

“And no, we don’t have a playoff team but rather than playing better as the season progresses we play worse. True or not?”

We lost to the Nets by 20..then we turn around and beat one of the best teams in the league by 1. Then we lose to SA in SA by 10 but we showed heart as even you admitted the game was in striking distance.

“I much rather talk about positive things than whine.. but unless you start with a good example (did we not compete ain’t cutting it) I will hang on to the Kleenex…”

I guess you’ll be hanging on to your Kleenex then because if you watched the game then you saw the Knicks compete. You also saw Harrington take those god awful shots but we were right there at the end and they made plays..we didn’t.

  • italian stallion

You clearly are one of the few that understands that Walsh threw out the rebuild + 2010 FA plan out the window and went for the 2010 quick fix plan B.

The quick fix plan “B” was to mortgage the future and hope to sign James or Wade.

Plan C is to sign Bosh or Johnson and have his minions in the media try to spin it and sell that to the fans that won’t comprehend that neither is a max player and won’t get us to a championship in 10 years if we give either of them that much.

  • PipeDreamin

‘BOY ARE YA CRAZY? OR JUST PLAIN STUPID?’

DVJ what in the name of Seven Seconds Or Less are you talking about??? he didnt have to shoot it. he could have let the clock run down. the knicks got the ball with less than 16 seconds left, down 12.

that my friend, is why people call this guy out for PADDING STATS… as even Mike Breen alluded to.

DVJ, get your weight up PLAYA.

  • PipeDreamin

    ^— THIS GUY IS A HERB… and I don’t mean Williams.

  • DVJ

“I expected Dantoni to get the most out of this crap roster and for the team to remain remotely competitive while devoting a lot of his efforts to player development.”

You expected D’Antoni to get the most out of this crap roster? What else could he get out of them but……………crap. LOL
Remain remotely competitive? When were we competitive? You say it as if we were competitive before D’Antoni got here.
You will see Douglas play all the minutes in the world now.

“I fully supported DW’s plan but these last 2 years have been a giant failure, with him not doing his job to address key deficiencies in our roster to remain competititve like he wanted to do. ”

What was Donnie’s main goal? I think it was to get under the cap. Did he accomplish that goal?

“I fully supported DW’s plan but these last 2 years have been a giant failure,”

Sounds like you need to take a step back and reset your expectations. Again..this team is a 30-35 win team. That’s how many games they won last year and that’s how many games they will win this year. I’m not sure why so many people thought different. Come back down to earth or pass whatever it is your smoking on (unless it’s in a pipe).

“Him and Dantoni have done miserable jobs so far, but I am prepared to forgive them come next year.”

    You and everybody else here.

  • SilentJay

I’ve said it before, but I stand by it. DW’s heart was on the right place, but you can’t rebuild wanting to fully compete at the same time. To rebuild you have to give up important pieces and try to get future out of them (1st and 2nd round draft picks + cheap young assets) which wasn’t done because he thought that with players Al or Tim Thomas this team could’ve done better.
It is a nice idea to do both things, but it’s all about getting youth and trying to get the most out of it and at the same time securing a future (in those picks), just like Minny and the Nets did. They sacrificed their biggest pieces, and as badly as you them play, they’re still on their building path and with squads that’ll be really strong either next season (Nets) or the one after that (Minny).
DW adjusted his timetable to this FAgency, and that’s fine, but in the process of reconstruction, he could’ve gotten more than players to have a competitive team looking for the playoffs.
One thing Walsh didn’t count on was the fact that the coach he hired would get fed with his own system later, and just gave the green light to do whatever they wanted on the court.
    Just my POV though.

  • jgilch82

“I’d like to see a coaching staff with Ewing as head coach with Mark Jackson, Oakley, and Starks as assistants to allow real redevelopment.”

this was my laugh of the week … thanks man

  • PipeDreamin

Listen HERB… Last I checked this is a competitive sport. I know some of the knicks fans may have been lulled into accepting terrible play after the last 10 years, but I don’t turn on a knick game expecting defeat. I turn it on with optimism, hoping to see my team steal a win. And yes, they absolutely would have to steal it, but a win is a win regardless.

And like bbdot said, we were down one with what? 3 minutes to go? and we wound up losing by 10. that is a reason to be upset with this team, because it’s a reoccurring theme. 1st quarter: go down by 10. play catchup all game, and then finally catch up midway through the 4th… and then blow it. that’s not for lack of talent. it’s for lack of leadership… for lack of execution. so you better believe my kleenex box is out when that happens. its one thing to be outmatched. it’s another to beat urself.

I really dislike u by the way… You creep through the threads not looking to give your opinion or disagree with someone else’s, but rather you are simply looking to put people down.

Biggie is a guy who I dont agree with a lot, but he goes about himself with respect so i respect him.

    Be a man PLAYA…

  • bb_dot

DVJ, I bet you we won’t win 30 this year.

And being a bad team doesn’t excuse lack of fight, heart and coaching. Just because were “in this game” as you say doesn’t mean much. We played only half of it for crying out loud! Did you watch the first quarter? We were sleepwalking, entirely unprepared and down by 10 in two seconds..

but hey if you think DAntoni is a great coach..

  • DVJ

    “Listen HERB”

    Huh?

“I know some of the knicks fans may have been lulled into accepting terrible play after the last 10 years”

Haven’t we been losing the last 10 years?

“but I don’t turn on a knick game expecting defeat. I turn it on with optimism, hoping to see my team steal a win.”

    Who here doesn’t?

“And like bbdot said, we were down one with what? 3 minutes to go? and we wound up losing by 10. that is a reason to be upset with this team, because it’s a reoccurring theme.”

I wonder why…maybe because we’re not that good. After 10 years of the same thing I wouldn’t call it a reoccurring theme.

“1st quarter: go down by 10. play catchup all game, and then finally catch up midway through the 4th… and then blow it. that’s not for lack of talent. it’s for lack of leadership…”

The leaders are coming…their on the way.

    “I really dislike u by the way…”

Aw, I wish I could say the same about you but there’s a small problem…..I never met you lol.

“You creep through the threads not looking to give your opinion or disagree with someone else’s, but rather you are simply looking to put people down. ”

If they can dish it out they can take it right? I’m just the friendly policeman that patrols the blog and tries to keep order. When people start to bash a coach because his players suck…then I have to come out and restore order. Sorry if you don’t understand it….but you will…..next year.

“Biggie is a guy who I dont agree with a lot, but he goes about himself with respect so i respect him. ”

I respect him also…..even though I never met him.

    “Be a man PLAYA…”

Kind of hard to be a man on a blog…..I’m just saying playa.

  • DVJ

“DVJ, I bet you we won’t win 30 this year. ”

You don’t want to make that bet.

“And being a bad team doesn’t excuse lack of fight, heart and coaching. Just because were “in this game” as you say doesn’t mean much.”

Again..you act like we’re not one of the worse teams in the league. We are a lottery team this year…what’s so hard to understand about that? We stink…we’re terrible….we’re a 30 win team.

“We played only half of it for crying out loud! Did you watch the first quarter? We were sleepwalking, entirely unprepared and down by 10 in two seconds..”

Have you not seen that before? Have you not seen us go up by 10 points in the 1st quarter before? It happens in the NBA.

  • DVJ

Good post SilentJay but in regards to

“at the same time securing a future (in those picks), just like Minny and the Nets did. They sacrificed their biggest pieces, and as badly as you them play, they’re still on their building path and with squads that’ll be really strong either next season (Nets) or the one after that (Minny).”

I just don’t see how you can say NJ will be good either next year or the year after. Even if they get Wall this draft, that’s not going to be anywhere near enough for them to even make the playoffs next year. Wall will not come in and make that type of splash. He’ll be just like the rest of the PG’s that have been drafted. Comes in, has his ups and downs and takes his time to adjust to the game at this level.

What does Minny have? Johnny Flynn has been terrible. He can’t run a team and he is so undersized it’s disgusting. He’s like a mini Nate (now that’s small)….Jefferson is on the decline and Love is overrated as can be. I spent a little time on the Timberwolves blog last summer to see what they were saying about Rubio (who I think is the Knicks future PG) and plenty of them would tell me that David Lee can’t hold a candle to Love. I thought that was funny. Then they played each other and Lee demolished him. Not sure if we won the game or not….probably not.

  • bb_dot

“We are a lottery team this year…what’s so hard to understand about that? We stink…we’re terrible….we’re a 30 win team”

That’s not hard to understand. What I don’t understand is what the positives are we should be talking about after a game like this?
Sure, I can just walk around and say “we suck, so why should I get upset”. Or I can be like someone who cares and show disappointment about the performance if I feel it is less than what should be expected even if we are not a playoff team…

And I do not believe we are a 30 win team. Time will tell and I hope I’m wrong. But I dont see this team win more than 28 games..

  • DaGawD_KnowLedge

man that coaching staff would ROCK

  • DaGawD_KnowLedge

people are out there minds thinking bosh is a great player-lmao

bosh is a good player to have if u have a supper dupper star-group home.

an joe J isn’t that much better than craw offensively but is a better defensive player.

  • DaGawD_KnowLedge

bench AL for the rest of the season please
also let t-crak knees rest so his knee could get better if your planning to resign him as your 6th man

  • DaGawD_KnowLedge

fylnn is overrated i was so suprised dude got picked in top 10
mayb he could be better in a different system but still
    he’s not a lottery pick…

  • paulempson

He hasn’t done anything like that yet. He got rid of players that were over paid and gave the franchise the chance to spend now or rebuild slowly.

We cant predict what he will do this summer and so far, in less than 2 years, he has given NY options. Something they haven’t had in a very long time.

Craw , Z , JJ, Hill , those picks ( my bet says they just dont have the proper scouting staff to get the right players via teh draft . They keep blowing it. ) . Plus with Douglas, Gallo, Chandler …… how many more rookies do you need . I know picks are good assets to have but I can understand the logic. My bet is should we get a shot at any stud , it will only be for 3 years with an opt out for the player after 2 ( if we’re talking LBJ ) . That would give the Cavs time to acquire picks , shed salaries and then have the cap space for his return all the while he makes a killing in the Mecca. Dont get me wrong, he will come with a list of players he wants on the team , he will know what the money side of it will entail and will only come to NY with certain demands that will have to be met . He is a shrewd business man besides being a great player

D’Antoni ‘s job is safe . He gets players he wants and still loses or hangs at .500 …. gone by X MAS.

LOL Morning guys! Seems I did not miss much during the Timmy show!! Timmy draft pick T Parker draft pick unless i’m wrong Manu was a draft pick! See the theme? lol

That being said we are where we are so at least once a day I am going to keep saying CP3 will save donnie from looking like a complete bungler!! (aside from some how signing LBJ) Everything is in place donnnie alzheimer’s “geter done”!!

CP3 my friends will make the average good and the good great and the great champs by being great along side them!! Being a pure PG he can lift the other marginal guys and directing them and getting the most out of them while a star say an LBJ can focus on doing his thing.

We all know I think donnie has sucked since he has been here but if for the first time he has the vision to pull that off I would have to commend him and maybe even start fresh lol.

    Repeat after me guys “CP3 CP3 CP3″!!!

By the way “DID GALLO GET STUFFED BY MANU???” WTF!?! lmao he is 6 freakin 10 how the hell??? I think EC can jump higher!!! lol

Is the Joba Chamberlain rules being applied to T-Mac?

This guy is never in the game when it counts in the 2nd half or 4th Qtr?

I think Houston knew this guy was basically finished and gave us a dud! He has all the incentives to showcase himself for a new contract and this is the best of what we can get?

  • x-man

lol, DVJ, you’re the type of guy who gets shot and then try to pt out how perfect the hole is!

You want to speak about the positives. What positives is there to talk about unless we were developing our youths this year?

You don’t get rings for almost winning games!

You’re a very low expectation playa!

I think everyone understands that, but after the JJ trade, there really isn’t much choice now is there?
We might get our pick taken away next year, and we don’t have one for 2012. That was Walsh’s way of saying, “I’m putting all my eggs in one basket”.
We’ve discussed over and over again that a proper reconstrucion not only happens through the FAgency, but also through the draft (mainly since not every summer you see so many top FA).
If Walsh wanted reconstruction, he clearly brough in the wrong guy because he doesn’t give a crap about the young guys, he thought D’antoni would up this franchise’s value, when all I keep thinking is that this guy’s lost any sort of value he once had showing what he really is as a coach.

Honestly man, I was prepared to argue with you last night but I found better things to do…Just stick with the men in white coats and don’t take candy from strangers. You have convinced me I am wrong by simply quoting me out of context and drawing your own conclusions. Thanks, you’ve really enlightened me playa. Remember, its puff, puff, pass with the crack pipe, you hog it like Al Harrington.

Say the Nets are dumb enough not to go after Wall but go after Turner, they pretty much solve their SG problems. They get PG covered in Harris, SG they got Lee, Williams, Turner, they’d still be looking for a stronger SF and PF, then they got Yi and Lopez in the back court. If they go after Cousins Yi heads straight to the bench. That beside the fatct that they get another pick that’s close to being top 20. One max guy, a new coach who isn’t as dumb as ours and they’ll be fighting right there.
Minny also gets 2 picks this draft to keep making their roster young and cheap. I really don’t see when or how Rubio can ever get to the Knicks. In any case, 2 picks, getting Flynn (who isn’t having the season many expected) + their next two picks should strengthen their squad and have them fighting in 2011

PipeDreamin, nobody takes DVJ seriously here.

All he does his chant “Be Patient My Friends” and passes out the free kool-aid.

He isn’t really a fan, he’s just a minion hired by Walsh for good PR.

Is that you DVJ? What did I say about posting under multiple usernames?
